mancunianfox Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Joes Mourinho won't want it will he? Think about it, he's hardly going to accept a job that he'll effectively being fook all for the best part of a year. Then he's got a further 2 years before the real business starts in a World Cup Finals. Mourinho is too impatient for that, plus he's already said he doesn't know whether he could manage a team that might face Portugal in a match. If Capello wants it, give it to him. Spot on. I really don't think there is anyone better than Capello. He has done it all at club level and international level is the only place he really has left to prove himself. O'Neill seemed bitter about being rejected first time around so I'm not sure if he would still be interested. Mourinho would (understandably) want to leave as soon as a big european club came in for him and I think he will hold off international management for a few years before managing Portugal. If Capello gets the job he will be committed because at that stage in his career he is not going to find anyone to pay him so much for doing so little and he doesn't seem that interested in going back into management at club level. He is 100% the best man for the job at the moment.
Ric Flair Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Why's that? Because he fails to condemn a bloke for life for making a stupid comment?I've no idea whether he's right but he knows Hoddle well enough to form an opinion worth considering. Some of the football we played under Hoddle was a joy to watch, but the man isn't what we need irrespective of the comments he made all those years ago.

I'm not condemning Hoddle for life at all, nor are my reasons for the comment he made. He wasn't a great England manager IMO, he didn't handle certain situations particularly well (Gascoigne, Faith healer or whatever she was) and he lost respect from numerous players because of his arrogance. Since England he failed in the Spurs job and also at Wolves. I do not see how he could be a potential candidate.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Some people have mentioned Jurgen Klinsman, imagine that, a German for ze Ingland Coach. No more ten German bombers in the air
Webbo Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 McTitface to rejoin Boro? I think that's highly likely.

lee7 Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 mclaren deserved to go with the results that england were producing. now get in mourinho.
Nationwider Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Jose is out of the running. So is Big Sam, and I believe O'Neill isn't interested either (and who can blame him?). Capello is interested. So is Harry. So is Interesting Steve Coppell. Bollocks to it. They should try for Sralex or Wenger. Not that either would do it, at the moment, I'm sure.
