Simi Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 He doesn't deserve the compensation he will get of the FA, hope it comes out of Barwicks pocket. The Mirror today : "End of our Golden Generation" "End of England as a Genuine World Force"
Wycombe Fox Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Want Tosh? No thanks! We've had enough tosh of our own over the last 15 months!

Ric Flair Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 I'm tempted to find my posts from when McLaren was appointed as I doubt there will be any more venom in my posts about him than there was then. He's always been shit, I was never hoodwinked by the fact we'd ever do anything under him. We've wasted the best part of 4 years now because of this absolute c unteye.

Being a national manager is the hardest job in football, yet people often think it's the easiest because you have a whole nations footballers to pick your team from. But in reality you are geared up for one major tourament every 2 years and that tournament is 6 or 7 games long and anything can happen in a cup situation against strong opposition. If it was a 38 game league then you'd see the quality coming to the top all the time, but in tournaments there are always massive surprises and add to that our knack for not having the bottle results in us failing at the closing stages. In reality we a top 8 team in the world, but even being any higher doesn't result in winning major tournaments. Brazil, Argentina, Holland and Spain are all out and they were being heralded as serious contenders for winning it not so long ago. It's a cruel world, i'm feeling especially down because although Sven was abit of an idiot and made mistakes we have now got to endure a period of time under MaClaren who hasn't the pedigree in the domestic game that Sven has. I know that doesn't mean he'll automatically be a failure but he's just the sort of person who the media will be able to ridicule and bully like they have done with past managers. If we are to have any success as a nation then we need a character who the media can't belittle, somebody who can take the pressure off the players and instill some belief in them that might just carry us through. Anyway, thanks for some good memories Sven. I hope you enjoy your £20 million, it's not your fault you were paid 50 times more a year than the Argentinian manager and I hope you go on to be a success back at domestic level to show some of these bafoons in the English media that it's not as easy as they think. The threads about 5 down I bumped it last night, which was silly as Ultra started his usual damage limitaion operation.
Kilworthfox Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Its says something about how well we did under SM when Scotland got 24 point out of a group with Italy & France in it and we got 23
purpleronnie Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Yep, lets get another manager who we can blame when it all goes tits up.
Bojimha Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 did anyone expect anything other than this to happen? If he'd had any decency he would have gone on his own accord last night like Keegan but he didn't because he'd rather wait for compensation!
ronnup Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Yep, lets get another manager who we can blame when it all goes tits up. you can't be suggesting it wasn't his fault? He made mistake after mistake. Twat! (not you him).
hairy Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Yep, lets get another manager who we can blame when it all goes tits up. Get Mad Dog in!
Fat Ron Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 It will be Southgate or Chris Hutchings... Seriously though, the FA has to back away from a Yes man... Bring on Jose, O'Neill or Redknapp..
Ric Flair Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Joes Mourinho won't want it will he? Think about it, he's hardly going to accept a job that he'll effectively being fook all for the best part of a year. Then he's got a further 2 years before the real business starts in a World Cup Finals. Mourinho is too impatient for that, plus he's already said he doesn't know whether he could manage a team that might face Portugal in a match. If Capello wants it, give it to him.
Joe. Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Great news. He had to go, the FA had no other choice. Mourinho would obviously be my ideal choice, but like Ric said, it's whether he'd actually want it. He'd definitely get the money and length of contract he'd like, but it's whether he's bothered about us not actually qualifying for Euro 2008. Capello sounds a decent option as does O'Neill, so wouldn't mind either of those two either.
Fat Ron Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Paul Ince has gone down in my opinion..... Meanwhile, former England captain Paul Ince believes the FA should re-appoint Glenn Hoddle, who was England boss for three years before being sacked in February 1999 after suggesting that disabled people were being punished for sins in a previous life. Ince told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I wouldn't look any further than Hoddle. "He did a very good job and he wasn't sacked for footballing reasons. "The FA has got to forget about what happened years ago, they've got to be bold and brave. "Hoddle is sharp, bright, meticulous and he's English, but whether the FA is prepared to go back is not my decision."
Thracian Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Paul Ince has gone down in my opinion..... Why's that? Because he fails to condemn a bloke for life for making a stupid comment? I've no idea whether he's right but he knows Hoddle well enough to form an opinion worth considering.
