Simi Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 yes, thats what the new Chairman said. Oh, apologies then Walkers. Spoke to Joely22 today, he's not impressed with the decsion!
dandannieldanok Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 He hardly bought at all to be fair! He said after the Chelsea game he'd spent £10million in the summer, that's quite a fair bit in my eyes.
Simi Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Isn't this like the 21st sacking of the season? Davies has paid the price for over achieving.
MC Prussian Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Isn't this like the 21st sacking of the season? Davies has paid the price for over achieving. Which says a lot about the Derby board.
Webbo Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Yes he bought poorly in the summer, but it must have been hard to attract top player to Derby when everybody thought they would go straight down.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 He said after the Chelsea game he'd spent £10million in the summer, that's quite a fair bit in my eyes. Yes I did see that I thought I'd prehaps forgotten one of two players such as Todd and Miller as there were so many undisclosed deals at Derby over the summer. Still, 10 million wasn't going to be enough to keep that team up it had a squad full of Championship players, plus Matt Oakley and Giles Barnes and it's debatable whether or not those two are good enough to play at that level.
Raj Posted 27 November 2007 Author Posted 27 November 2007 10mill is fcuk all nowadays in Th Prem surely? Didnt S'Land spend about 9mil on Gordon the Goalie?? Then they let in 7 V Everton!!! It looked like they had abit of stability with BD. Hopefully they can do a Leicester and go through about 10 in 3 years!
Webbo Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 Bit ironic really, he gets sacked on the same day he won East Midlands coach of the year.

Brainy Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Former Wigan boss Paul Jewell is set to be named as the new manager of Derby County, BBC Sport understands. :|
The Reverend Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Former Wigan boss Paul Jewell is set to be named as the new manager of Derby County, BBC Sport understands. :| Strange one that.
hairy Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Former Wigan boss Paul Jewell is set to be named as the new manager of Derby County, BBC Sport understands. :| 'Tis strange. Why would he go there? Why pick Derby out of all the clubs that have been linked with him? My conclusion is that he must off lost it, gone a bit barkin' since leaving Wigan and having nothing to do all day but listen to the missus and carry the shopping bags.
Master Fox Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 You would have to think that who in their right mind would want to go and manage Derby, but I bet you they end up with Paul Jewell!! Bob Hazell, Newtonfox, Russell Brand (champagne Supernova), and Chandler, are all licking my balls as type this. Do you want to know how I knew this.................... I guessed!!
