Raj Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Davies parts company with Derby Derby manager Billy Davies has left the Premier League strugglers following talks with chairman Adam Pearson.
Maybes Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Harsh really. What else is he supposed to do with that pile of shite??
Raj Posted 26 November 2007 Author Posted 26 November 2007 Harsh really. What else is he supposed to do with that pile of shite?? Martin Allen for Derby????
Brainy Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 ... and just a few weeks ago the chairman said that he would stick by Davies whether they went down or not.
Durnerz Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Haha beaten by an average West Ham side yet loses his job over a narrowish loss to Chelsea!

Phlashman Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I can see them ending up with McClaren. They are going down no matter who gets the job. With Davis in charge I would of expected them to probibly bounce straight back up but now they could get an even worse manager and they could slip back down to thier natural level right next to forest and leeds!
mancunianfox Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 They played crap football last season and bullied their way into the PL with a very average squad. They did not buy well over the summer and it was always obvious that they were going to really struggle this season. To sack the manager when he clearly hasn't got a squad capable of playing in the division is ridiculous, especially as they will probably need his experience of the championship next season.
The Stig Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 He didn't buy well in the summer and isn't a Premiership manager, but they are a PL team in name only.

I agree, especially when you see Sunderland who steamrollered opposition in our league last season under Keane being humiliated by the likes of Everton and Birmingham losing something like six in a row. Chairmen of teams promoted from this league need to understand the gulf in class. Of course Davies hasn't helped matters by signing lower-end Championship players like Eddie Lewis, someone I wouldn't have been thrilled about us signing let alone getting games in the Premiership.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 He didn't buy well in the summer and isn't a Premiership manager, but they are a PL team in name only. He hardly bought at all to be fair!
purpleronnie Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 A manager who takes a team which almost got relegated to division 3 to promotion the following season is a very good manager. Yes he didn't buy well but how many players were available? How much money did he have? They were always going to get relegated, but the money they would make froma season in the premiership would become available and I'm sure he could have built the team for another promotion push. Who would want the job now? If this had happend 2 weeks ago, he would now be the Leicester manager.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I wonder if Derby will be top of the Championship at this point next season... like Watford who stuck with Aidy Boothroyd?
mancunianfox Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I wonder if Derby will be top of the Championship at this point next season... like Watford who stuck with Aidy Boothroyd? Derby have been much worse in the PL this season than Watford were.
Brainy Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Watford realised in January that they were going down so they started to plan for next season by bringing in Championship quality. Derby should do the same because the only way they're going is down.
Master Fox Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 You would have to think that who in their right mind would want to go and manage Derby, but I bet you they end up with Paul Jewell!!
MC Prussian Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 You would have to think that who in their right mind would want to go and manage Derby, but I bet you they end up with Paul Jewell!! Craig Levein all the way!!!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 a bit supriseing as no one was ever going to save them from the start
Phlashman Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 apparantly according to SSN Paul Ince has shot up to favourite at the bookies after a large bet being placed in Derby...
Master Fox Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Craig Levein all the way!!! Oh go on then..it makes me want to as well.... oh why not some more .... Oh the my...
Simi Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 ... and just a few weeks ago the chairman said that he would stick by Davies whether they went down or not. They got a new chairman. Paul Ince.
Kilworthfox Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Oh go on then..it makes me want to as well.... oh why not some more .... Oh the my...
Joe. Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007  What an absolutely pointless sacking. It's like they think another manager will do better
