Geo V Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Sunderland have a re call option in January and also have said he`s not for sale to us, or anyone else in the summer, BUT things change very quickly in football, that`s why nobody knows anything much, for very long ! If thats the case I think we should start looking for a new keeper now.
Dr The Singh Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Our best player since Izzet IMO. Real quality. should be playing in the prem!!
Bert Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Link Leicester City goalkeeper Marton Fulop has not ruled out making his loan move to the Walkers Stadium permanent. The giant stopper has made the position his own since moving to City on a season-long loan from Premier League outfit Sunderland in August. He was at the top of his game again at Burnley on Tuesday night, making a string of saves to help City take a vital Championship point from Turf Moor. Owen Coyle, the Burnley manager, described Fulop's performance as ?inspired? as the keeper's saves denied Robbie Blake and Andy Gray either side of half-time. It is the type of form that has prompted many fans to urge City to seek his permanent signature with the January transfer window coming up. Fulop admits he is enjoying his time with City, and would not rule out a lasting move. ?It's up to Leicester and Sunderland and whether they can agree a price,? said the 6ft 6in goalkeeper. ?After that, we can talk about it because, like I have said, I am really enjoying my time here.? The Hungary international goalkeeper has helped City form the meanest defence in the Championship, conceding just 15 goals in 19 games this season. But at 24, a relatively young age for a goalkeeper, Fulop believes he can only get better. ?I was happy with my performance against Burnley,? he said. ?But there are still lots of things that I am looking to learn. ?I can never say I had the perfect game. Every game there are things I can look at and think about and learn from. ?It's great to be playing for Leicester and I am really enjoying it. It's a great learning curve for me.? He has been an ever-present since arriving in time for the trip to Crystal Palace back in August. And his performances have made him a huge favourite with supporters, with the chant ?Fulop's unbeatable? following him around the country. Fulop said: ?I love the fans at Leicester City. They have made me feel really welcome here. I can't thank them enough for the faith that they have in me.? Promotion-chasing West Bromwich Albion will be cheered on by around 3,000 supporters at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday. The Baggies sold their initial allocation of 2,300 tickets and have been given a further 900 seats. nCity stars Patrick Kisnorbo, Gareth McAuley, Alan Sheehan and Iain Hume are on the short-list to be included in the Football League's top 50 players. The four City men have been included on a ?suggested players? list by magazine FourFourTwo - although supporters can nominate others. Things could be looking goood!! Not sure about Sheehan in the football leaue's top 50 though, he's not even played a full season in his career yet!

Fat Ron Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I know. Just seen now. As this thread is still open though...... MILAN, get your cheque book out!!!!!
The Don Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Even if we pay £2m for him, we would be able to get that back even if we sold him on. Scott Carson £10m?? Would rather have fulop!!

Joe. Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Well it's nice to know he'd definitely consider it strongly. Whatever Sunderland want we should pay (within reason obviously). It's not very often you come across a goalkeeper you know you can rely on like him.
Simi Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Awful news. Hope Milan does the right thing and sends him back.
Geo V Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Awful news.Hope Milan does the right thing and sends him back. That is surprising news. I suppose he is happy with still being his countries No1 whilst playing second tier football and is seen as a big fish in a small bowl as opposed to a small fish in a big un at Sunderland? Also Holloway loves a Hungarian so if he brings the odd one over from ex-club Plymouth or from the Hungarian leagues, that could be the thing that tips him over to us. Time to party as Marton loves us
gosfox Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 If Milan is serious about building a premiership team then surely he has to start by signing the one true premiership class player on our "books"
WetFlannel Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 well in the burnley programme, he stated how much he like it here...although i suppose he has to say that now hes here
James. Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Holloway was happy at Plymouth and he moved. I'd be surprised if Fulop does stay. He really is a bit too good. I hope I'm just being pessimistic because if there's any player I want Milan to open the cheque book for it's him.
Super Arj Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 i hope he does... the main reason why we havent conceeded that many this season
AyewJoking Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Honestly, is Fulop gonna come out and say "we've been mediocre, are more likely to get relegated than win promotion and I'm just biding my time til the end of the season."?
Kilworthfox Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 Sunderland View On Fulop Situation "Fulop wants permanent move from Sunderland MARTON FULOP has urged Leicester City to push Sunderland for a decision on whether to turn his season-long loan move into a permanent arrangement. The Hungarian goalkeeper has become a fans' hero at the Walkers Stadium since arriving in August and helping the Foxes to become the meanest team in the Championship. Fulop was granted permission to move out on a short-term arrangement by Sunderland manager Roy Keane after the £9m acquisition of Craig Gordon. advertisement But, having enjoyed his time away from Wearside, the 24-year-old admits he would seriously consider a full-time switch. "It's up to Leicester and Sunderland and whether they can agree a price," said the 6ft 6in goalkeeper. "After that, we can talk about it because, like I have said, I am really enjoying my time here. "It's great to be playing for Leicester and I am really enjoying it. It's a great learning curve for me. I love the fans at Leicester City. They have made me feel really welcome here. I can't thank them enough for the faith they have in me." Fulop has been an ever-present for Leicester since making his debut at Crystal Palace in August and Burnley boss Owen Coyle labelled his performance as 'inspired' after a midweek draw. Keane paid only £500,000 for Fulop in January, just a couple of months after moving in the opposite direction to Ben Alnwick from Tottenham. Whatever cash can be raised by Keane will strengthen his hand in his own pursuit of new players in January, although he will be handed a sizeable budget by chairman Niall Quinn regardless. Keane has made no secret of the fact he will be attempting to raid the European market this time around, but there remains an interest in Portsmouth's Matthew Taylor" Although the same quotes as the previous article the reporter in Sunderland seems to think he wants to come to Leicester if the headline is anything to go by!
