Is Holloway doing a Kelly?

A Bitter Plymouth fan me thinks, or a Cov fan or just a prat!!

Am I being thick but who is Simon Daives??

I think me meant Simon Jordan.

Or maybe Simon Davies from Fulham.

And neither of them are managers.

But you right, it could be a bitter Plymouth fan.

No is the answer. Holloway is much, much worse than Kelly. Give me Rob Kelly above this Wurzel anyday of the week. Holloway has no right to manage a club like this, I've only been a City fan for 5 years but it's obvious that this bloke is way out-of-his-depth. Sack him now Millan and bring back Allen. he should never have left, or if not him go for someone whos doin well with a small team and is not a retard, like Warnock or simon daives.

wait till the transfer window opens till you judge any manager!

The Barnsly bloke. A Plymouth fan...right. If I was, I think I'd be very, very happy right now. I'd rather have Paul Sturrock than Holloway every time. Wern't we linked with him before Ga£y Meg$on arrived.

We'll see who's right in May when we're still in the bottom 6, the class of Paul Wooton and Nick Chadwick gracing Leicester.

Really, I'm sorry to appear like a dickhead but he's just not the one for us, just look into his eyes, can you see any passion or desire. He'll be another Levien.

Back to "experience" & Chosen Men - just as Kelly decided at exactly the same time last season!

============================================================

From the Blue Army website:

by Bill Anderson

Leicester City welcome back striker Matty Fryatt for tonight's clash at Ipswich - and not a moment too soon.

Saturday's harsh setback to West Brom has left City too low in the table for comfort and no-one has left Portman Road this season with all three points, so the challenge is there for all to see.

Fryatt's three-match ban is now over and City boss Ian Holloway is relieved but warns his return will not be the cure-all by any means.

Holloway said: “I think we have really missed him and he is one of those who has impressed me most of all, having the potential to be a really good player.

“However, I don't think it is now suddenly all right, but I think he helps. It means I could push Iain Hume wide right so, in effect, I have gained two players by one coming back.

"Now I have got Collins John who is maybe fit enough to be sub, so I have got players who can score goals. The young kids have done terrifically well and will be part of the club's future, but I need solid people who can get me some wins and I think Matty Fryatt is one of them.”

Holloway is correct. City's hopes do not stand or fall by the presence of one man but, nevertheless, his return is a boost to everyone in the camp and if City do get some reward tonight it would further accentuate the contrast in City's home and away form.

They have got 10 points from 11 games at home, 12 from nine away.

Holloway said: “I have got four points out of six away and at home I have got one out of nine, and if you look at our record, five points out of 15 is what we have been picking up for the last few years.

“ I sympathise with the fans for having to suffer that, and I thought they were magnificent the way they backed the team against West Brom. I said what I had to say and they have responded positively to it.

“So have the players, and they have given us much in the last two games, certainly more than enough to go on as far as progress is concerned. Let's see what I can do.”

The return of Fryatt is not the only change as James Wesolowski is sidelined for at least two weeks with hamstring trouble, and Holloway has hinted that Bruno N'Gotty will be slotted into the back four, either at right-back or in the middle, to counter Ipswich's strong attack.

Two goals from Gareth McAuley gave City victory in this fixture last season. What would they give for the same again?

It means we don't have to rely on the likes of Sappleton and Ashley Chambers as starters, players who you have admitted aren't ready.

I'm only teasing a bit - of course we need more experience in the team and the two you mentioned are NOT ready by any means.

I'm glad Fryatt and John are back in contention.

It also looks very much like he'll play Hume wide right - although I cannot see what he provides there really. Nor could I see what N'Gotty would give us wide right rather than in the centre.

The main thing tonight though is what happens with Sheehan. Cos if he doesn't get picked given the form he's shown so far then he might as well leave. Cos it will be perfectly clear that he's not a Holloway type which I think's a pity because Sheehan - at Championship level - can have outstanding effect with his dead ball delivery and clearly realises tat by the amount of time he puts in to try to achieve perfection.

In fact I think one or two might well be wise to consider their futures. Especially as the Blanderson article gives one of the best insights yet into the way Holloway thinks.

You didn't go to the Watford game then?:D

As for Sheehan, I think he will be back in. Realistically though, not every manager is going to like him. He's slow, languid and he backs off wingers at every opportunity. He deserves his place in the team at the moment though and I hope he's picked tonight.

I'd be careful about stereotyping Holloway as a manager who refuses to accommodate "classy" players. Players like Buzsaky and Halmosi were a big part of his success with Plymouth. We just haven't got anyone with that sort of invention. He will be looking to bring one or two of them into the club in January and only then can we truly judge how he wants the team to play.

Yes I watched the Watford game. Are you talking about Hume or N'Gotty?

I presume he's talking about the 25 yard screamer Hume scored after cutting in from the right hand side of the pitch.

Just because IH says it is so doesn't make it real. His remarks remind of Smegson's "much of a muchness" remark. A football team does not need silly remarks about ice cream been given or taken away from them by a manager.

A football team needs a manager to set out a game plan - to coach the players - to create and explain a game plan - to teach everyone where they fit into the plan and to instill confidence into the players to play without fear.

Ollie, stop treating them (and us!) like fools - Last Saturday was no better (perhaps worse) than most displays for the last few seasons despite you protestations of "more effort" etc., etc.

Get a plan - use the best players available to implement the plan - and have a Plan B and C - just in case.

Get on with it!!

Both, pretty sure they both started that game out wide right. I could be wrong.

I honestly can't recall where Hume played but yes, N'Gotty was fine. I just wasn't so impressed with him on the right at Accrington. We did keep a clean but it was a close thing at times and he didn't offer much going forward.

But none of that's conclusive and I've an open mind on it. I felt N'Gotty would benefit our central defensive area because I'm really concerned about how easily we give the ball away but I'm by no means intent on preserving Stearman's place.

I don't like to see him, of anyone else, being pilloried constantly - either because of his form or because people might have an alternative agenda - but there would certainly seem to be room for improvement in that position whether it be through N'Gotty or Chambers.

My guess is that Chambers is better suited athletically to defending and supporting our attacks and N'Gotty to a more central position but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

I agree. I was only teasing a bit. ;)

To be honest I think we'll be a completely different proposition with Chambers in the side and some half-decent strikers to choose from. Far too much has been made of the last couple of home games. We'll improve if we make the most of the returning players and can keep them fit.

If chambers is fit he's the answer at full back, and n'gotty at CB would improve distribution.

Exactly!. I wish Ollie would stop telling us that blue is black and just concentrate on how to win tonight. Ther's no way MM is going to sack you yet Ollie, so stop being so paranoic and desperate to explain your actions all the time. :(:(

How about playing James Chambers at right back & Stearman in front of him in midfield?

Stearman would offer wide height for Fulops kicks, particularly if we went for Hume/Fryatt up front

That said Ollie seems worried about height against the Tractor boys, so maybe wouldn't want Chambers at RB, wonder if he will move McAuley or Kisnorbo to right back with Bruno in the centre (or for height reasons leave Stearman at RB).
