Fat Ron Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Kenton and Chambers in central midfield? Not even on FM I know what your saying but in fairness, at this moment in time they havent been doing bad in that position, especially when compared to others. Unfortunatly Ollie is having to work with what he has until Jan then he can chop and change the squad.
Kilworthfox Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 It seems to me that a manager can't win at this club with some people. If he didn't assess properly what he'd inherited he would have been called reckless. Becuase he does assess, he's immediately consigned to the manager's graveyard. The problem is tho that the fans have assess the side time ago! Agreed that it is not Olly's fault that he wants a chance to assess too. Olly tho is stuck too a point as he has to stick by his new squad but also we have seen enough shilo from this side! That is why we have another new manager which is Olly this time.

Babylon Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 And so begins Thracians campaign to turn the crowd against Holloway. Brilliant.

They are quick, good stamina, but it is only a short term mesure ********************crossing fingers and awaiting gazza to turn up in a leicester shirt*****************

Jimmy Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 come on he has his hand tied atm, nearly all our strikers are unavailable, Weso is injured, AGAIN, and he cant add to the squad for the rest of the month, that said i would prefer that he recall Kishishev and de Vries rather then play Cort and Kenton (in midfield), i would also be happy were Gradel to be recalled, if only to be back up to another right winger after Jan as Bournemouth have used him on both wings and seems to of been very comfortable. as I've said to a number of people for me Ollie has a free ride until Jan that's when I will start to judge as that's when he is starting to make real decisions not just patching up an injury ravaged squad

Candidcamera Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 He has not had long in the job but he should be trying out players like Kaebi who really have not had a chance. This is unless he has done his assessment of him. It doesn't take a genious to see that our future is with the young players. It seems to me that there are quite a few of them yet to be given a chance. What about them ?
Zingari Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 sounds like a lot of sense from holloway ; he wants to assess his squad rather than throw the baby out with the bathwater

It seems to me that there are quite a few of them yet to be given a chance. What about them ? Well regarding young players he has two choices really: Use only 3 or 4 but regularly or Use all of them and give them a game each and not really much of a chance. I think personally it's better to carry on as he is...using Mattock, King, Chambers and Sappleton and regularly to give them a chance to make an impression.
Dames Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 And so begins Thracians campaign to turn the crowd against Holloway. Brilliant. I don't know why though.. Besides the fact Holloways not had time yet and the fact he's playing some of Thrac's favorites.
eaststandtom Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Holloway's comments on BBC Sport bother me:The Leicester City manager says he needs to try out all of his squad before buying new players. After Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Burnley he told BBC Radio Leicester: "I've asked the players to show me what they're about. "I need to assess everybody. I've got to be fair to these boys and I want to see all of them. "I don't care about what's gone before, some of these boys have been thrown on the scrapheap," he added. The Foxes boss is also calling for his senior players to help bring a turnaround in the club's home form: "What we need to do is make sure there is an environment in which the youngsters can shine and blossom." I've already mentioned the risks of Holloway having a long drawn out assessment of his squad. We need some urgency to our season. But it's his call to the senior players that really concerns me. It sounds exactly like Rob Kelly. He decided to "go with experience" and what a waste of time that was. I'd rather he went with our best players and noted which seniors were genuinely good enough to be part of that group. He might find 10 or 12 tops which would give us a realistic squad of about 22 leaving 10-12 others (young and old) being shed to make way for four or five quality replacements. And while he's doing all that he should get Gradel back to give Ashley Chambers a bit of proper competition on the right. holloway will have more money than kelly so hopefully the 'experience' he brings in will be of a better quality!
Jimmy Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I don't know why though..Besides the fact Holloways not had time yet and the fact he's playing some of Thrac's favorites. now they are in the team they are no longer his favourites ...
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 No i dont agree with what thrac is saying, Kelly was not a successfull manager before he got the managers job here.... Holloway has proven he can cut the mustard with a shoe string budget in this division.... i dont think kelly had a clue at all with tactics and transfers... Holloway knows how to get the best out of his players, he will buy well.... some of his signings down the years have turned out to be good players and he got them on the cheap!! So to say Holloway is doing a Kelly is, in my opinion nonsense....No holloway cant wave his magic wand and turn this squad into the samba stars of 1970, but what he can do is implement his own style, (which kelly didnt have) he can try and get the best out of some of the half decent ones we have and then he will more than likely add what he feels he needs. I think it is just a waiting game, he has got to be given time...to get his ideas across and then we can judge him if he is getting it wrong. I really want it to work like all of us.... Keep the faith!!
Dames Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 now they are in the team they are no longer his favourites ... Sheehan will be no matter what.
Micky Ruddle Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Is Holloway doing a Kelly? What the f**k. Exactly what i thought. Thing is though, Kelly's a coach not manager, he's a coach. He's just a bit on the side. Yet Holloway is a manger, therefore he will be able to get the best out of the players, due to his managerial qualities
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I cannot believe I am wasting eleven words on this thread.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I would also like to add my own personal disgust at this thread and confirm I wont be taking part in any discussions of this nature.
The People's Hero Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Is Holloway doing a Kelly? What the f**k. Case of Thracian doing a Thracian, I'm afraid. Utter sh ite.
Cat Burger Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 It's too early to say he's doing a Kelly, but if things carry on in the same vein it will become a valid point. I'm certainly not inspired so far.
teblin Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 To you really believe all the stuff you write or do it to get a reaction Thracian?
