WetFlannel Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Italian football in general is shocking... so dangerous. The italians really need to sort their game out, whilst were noncing around with goal line technology...

Brainy Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Man United fans stabbed in Rome The clashes came ahead of United's game against Roma Three Manchester United fans have been stabbed in Rome ahead of the club's Champions League tie in the city, according to reports. A Foreign Office spokesman said trouble flared between rival supporters outside the stadium. Two British nationals had been arrested. Consular officials were checking on the extent of injuries at a hospital. The last time the two teams met in April, 11 fans were taken to hospital after violence in the stadium. Reports in Italy said three Manchester United supporters had been stabbed but were not thought to be seriously hurt. The Foreign Office could not confirm the number of people injured.

Staf Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 I guess some United fans wanted to go there and watch there team play?Loyal support it's called. I know it is called loyal support to see your team abroad but they knew what the roma fans were like and i dont see the point in risking your life for a football match

It might sound bad, but I bet some United fans went out there looking for some revenge.
Staf Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 If you don't go looking for trouble you usually wont get it.It might sound bad, but I bet some United fans went out there looking for some revenge. Fair point but there is always some who just pick on anyone
Ashley Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 Uefa/Fifa should step in and sort Italy out, if anything happend like this in England we'd be threatend to be chucked out of european competitions. Do something .. Now!
Raj Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 Uefa/Fifa should step in if anything happend like this in England we'd be threatend to be chucked out of european competitions.Do something .. Now! Too right. Bloomin Europeans! Angelic Man U fans would never cause any aggro!
Floating Fox Posted 13 December 2007 Posted 13 December 2007 Angelic Man U fans would never cause any aggro! Raj, That is Quote of the year material. ManU Fans have a reputation for trouble themselves and whilst the british media would have you believe it's all the Italians faults, I highly doubt it. I won't judge unless I get an report though

purpleronnie Posted 14 December 2007 Posted 14 December 2007 Its the way Italians go about it that makes me angry. All tooled up creeping around attacking fans from behind then flying down the road on their scooters, **** cowards.
mancunianfox Posted 14 December 2007 Posted 14 December 2007 If you don't go looking for trouble you usually wont get it.It might sound bad, but I bet some United fans went out there looking for some revenge. Good post. Its impossible to say that there is a 'strong possibility of being stabbed' because its simply not true. Just because of one incident it doesn't mean that they are happening all over the city. The vast majority of football fans (both English and Italian are well behaved) and usually leave each other alone. However, knowing many united fans, and seeing how they behave on away days (unfortunately I have been on the Man U train on the way back them many Leicester games) it wouldn't suprise me if they went looking for trouble either. Very similar to how England fans will try and look for trouble during away games and tournaments. It will happen as long as there are idiots in our society and that has absolutely nothing to do with football.
