Geo V Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Same team as Wolves for me. No one played that badly to be dropped and the lads need some continuity IMO. Saying that Im not sure of anyone is injured or banned?!
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Same team as Wolves for me. No one played that badly to be dropped and the lads need some continuity IMO. Saying that Im not sure of anyone is injured or banned?! James Chambers picked up his fifth booking, I believe, so Kenton will be in for him.

Geo V Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 James Chambers picked up his fifth booking, I believe, so Kenton will be in for him. Oh right. In that case, I`d get Weso in if he is fit. We need more players in the side that can do something with the ball at there feet.
Mark Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 5-3-2 doesn't/hasn''t/won't/will not work at home. (with our players) We'll be gifting Ipswich their first away win.
Simon Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Oh right. In that case, I`d get Weso in if he is fit. We need more players in the side that can do something with the ball at there feet. Yet to be convinced that's Weso, but I'd play him if he's ready, if J. Chambers is injured I'd play: Fulop Stearman McAuley N'Gotty Mattock Hume Weso Clem Hayes Fryatt John Subs: Hendo, King, Sheehan, A. Chambers, Kenton
Flynny Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Loved N'Gotty yesterday. Fulop Stearman - McAuley - Kisnorbo - MattockN'GottyChambers - King - HayesFryatt - Hume

Bryn Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 The formation we had at Wolves is probably about as effective as we can be for now. I do agree with Mark though.
Jack Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 James Chambers picked up his fifth booking, I believe, so Kenton will be in for him. Im Sure On the Tele it said that Chambers would be unavailable for the Charlton game, so I think he can play against Ipswich

Jack Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Kaebi has left the club so is pretty unlikely to feature on the subs list Left ?
Solihullfox Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Left ? He has been told to find a new club and as far as I understand it, he and the other surplus to requirement players are not at the club ie. not at the training ground or anywhere near the squad who are part of Ollie's plans - so effectively yes, left.

Oh I see, I thought you ment left, as in been released
Father Ted Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 My team would be: Fulop Stearman - N'gotty - Kisnorbo - MattockKentonWesolowski (if fit) - King - HumeFryatt - John Subs: Henderson, Mcauley, Clemence, Sheehan, Hayes
Thracian Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 I sympathise with Mark but fail to see the sense in pretending that we have wingers any longer. So systems like 5-3-2, 5-4-1 or 4-3-3 make sense because they play to what we have rather than what we might wish we had. Being honest, 4-4-2 has been a total disaster at home this season for the simple reason that whatever selection we chose leaves us with too many weaknesses. Against Wolves the big thing was that, by present standards, we had no glaring weaknesses. We at least competed in every department. I would want to improve three things: our passing, our stamina and our goals potential. But if Holloway goes with an unchanged team who can blame him? I've never understood why Mattock gets the nod ahead of Sheehan. Game for game, effect for effect it doesn't add up when you look at the facts - not even nearly. Sheehan's first team results record is far better than Mattock's. His passing is better too and his ability to create things. It's just his lack of pace that's the bogey man. Mattock appears to cope better in defence being quicker but in reality I'm not at all sure that's really the case. They can both look vulnerable just like everyone else. Then there's centre midfield and, again, I think Clemence is the weak link at the moment. He creates nothing, doesn't pass particularly well and it is hard to see anything in his game to call outstanding. King, to me, offers far more. My third problem concerns Fryatt. We can't go on with a player who puts in one promising third of a game and then all but disappears. Question is can we put it right even if Holloway was prepared to, which I doubt? Well we could go: Fulop; Stearman, N'Gotty, Kisnorbo, Sheehan; Kenton; Hume, Chambers, King, Hayes; John. Subs: McAuley, Mattock, Clemence, Fryatt, Odhiambo. The above remains competitive but gives us two passing central defenders out of three instead of one, more attacking potential and better passing at left-back, additional pace for counter-attacks with Hume, Chambers and Hayes in midfield and more ability to close down for longer. We also have three potential strikers if King is allowed freedom to get forward and two quick midfielders covering when they do. The system would move between 5-4-1 and 4-3-3.
Daz.I Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Fulop Stearman Kisnorbo Mcauley Mattock Hume Clemence N'Gotty/Kenton Hayes Fryatt John I think just the hayes change would be enough to turn ipswich over.
