Untrue. A full Kop has outsung it on many occasions. On reading the thread it's evident that many in L1 see themselves as the ONLY true City fans. Now THAT is what I call total bollox. L1 have shamed themselves and the rest of the club on a number of occasions. Remember the Leeds and QPR games from a couple of years back?

Ultra Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Bollocks & tossI think you will find L1 is just like A-block at Forest the loudest & most atmospheric part of our stadium with a very small scattering of wannabes & hooligans same as any club! If L1 was like Forest's A-block we'd have some VERY serious issues. They're racist lowlife who are more interested in winding up away fans than watching the game. The fact you appear to see them as potential role models confirms my previous opinions about the people who choose to sit/stand in L1.

I totally agree mate , Because you like a bit of a stand up and sing and you have to sit in L1 to get it everybody labels you a hooligan or a wanna be at that. It's daft most people really do sit there just because they like the atmosphere. It's called getting behind the team, and its something which the vast majority of L1 try and do every game. So what if theres usually 2-3000 away fans and about 500 of us and we've only had 4 home wins in the whole of 2007, we always try to get behind the team and I personally think we do a good job and the important thing is the players and holloway hear us.Nothing makes me more proud than to see the kop on its feet singing and rocking just like the brum game last year, it was great but lets be realistic here the kop is made up of about 4000. yes? of that 1000 odd join in with clapping and a few others sing when we're winning. Apart from that its 100 odd 15-25 year olds on the back 3 rows trying desperately to create an atmosphere with another 2500 odd happy to sit down at the front with their flask's and lets face it should really be in the west / north stand. And dont try and make it out that I don't know what its like in the kop I had an ST there for 2 and a half seasons before switching to L1 midway through the 2005/06. I challenge you to spend a game in L1 and find me just 10 people you could be classed as chavs. They're called FOOTBALL SUPPORTERS! The fans that stand in L1 are a joy to be around....I would much prefer to be with supporters who want to create an atmosphere and actually do something about it! Could i change my season ticket from the kop to L1 ? Would they let me ? To be honest, it could be contradicting to my previous post. If it weren't for L1 our atmosphere would be pants.

That was why I really think Nblock would have worked but people just didn't seem to want it enough, oh and the fact that the club didn't really want it either.Take my dad for example, he stood in the pens at filbert street and I'm pretty sure he'll remember those memories till the day he dies. He still likes to stand at games, but doesn't like the hassle from the stewards. If I asked him (and just about anybody in the SOUTH STAND) to move to L1 then they'd say it's full of chavs, etc etc. But my dad and his mates moved over to Nblock - A clean slate, no reputation - and they really enjoyed themselves, apart from when the stewards waged in. The problem that L1 has is it's reputation, and as we all know, it's hard to change that, very hard. I don't know what the answer is, but I don't think L1 is it. Well said. I was sorry to see the demise of N-block, as it provided more atmosphere in one game (Cov) than L1 did in the whole of last season. They could actually be heard from the Kop! If there are efforts being made to bring it back I would be very happy to support them. Having two singing ends would do a lot to make the Way a less hospitable venue for visiting sides.

Seriously though, I moved from the "kop" last season because I couldnt take it there anymore. Just a bunch of moaning miserable and boring twats near us. L1 is the way forward, it is getting better, probably cos most of the people there actually watch the game and not the away fans. the club did have a survey for changing the Kop and the family stand last year, but all the wooden tops in the Kop voted to stay. It is embarassing to see 7500 in the Kop sitting on their hands and being outsung by 200 Cardiff fans!

I've never been, but looking at photos it just looks very similar to the Walkers. A bowl connected on all four corners, with the stands quite far away from the pitch. I'm interested to know how it's different.

I see where your coming from but I think all they're saying is that L1 is constantly singing and standing, which is what they want. I don't think they meant they were the only real fans. From what I remember, it is basically exactly the same, but they threw a million or so at fixing the acoustics. Also their positioning of fansis very handy, a singing section either side.

How can you be sure about that? You don't know how many voted. For all we know it could have been those sitting in other areas who voted to leave things as they are. It is embarassing to see 7500 in the Kop sitting on their hands and being outsung by 200 Cardiff fans! That situation is not good, but it's nowhere near as bad as songs celebrating the London bombings or the deaths of two Leeds fans in Turkey, or (worse still) fleeing in terror when Leeds fans quite understandably objected to the latter ditty.

I seem to remember that it was handed out before a game, probably ended up as confetti though! I'm sure it was on the website too.
