I went to Portman Road for the referee show two weeks ago, and the ground was dead. If we had stopped singing then it would have been a complete library. And they always win at home as well, we win at home once a year! If any of you go to Carrow Road next month you will see who the most passionate and loud East Anglian supporters are. I couldn't go today, no trains or coaches , but will be back for Saturday.

Some don't feel comfortable joining in with banter or chants and they dont find these primary reasons to go to watch leicester play. I personally feel atmosphere counts as a considerable percentage for when i go to a game, but im sure some people dont go intending to join in. Some people only join in once in a while, which is their decision, and i'll leave them to that...

In all fairness most of them will have had the same wank journey that I did with a major hold-up that cost me at least 40 mins. Combine that with the woeful performance their team put up and I do have some sympathy - if I was in their shoes I wouldn't have felt much like singing either. But, yes, they were pretty uninspiring!

For the numbers (2k+), undoubtedly. I didn't hear ONE song from them all afternoon. But most of them deserve credit for staying to the end, even with NINE minutes of injury time.

Kilworthfox Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 I was right next too their fans in L1 The problem with their fans was that L1 started off really well and we the team went on to put on a really good committed performance which made more people than usual wish to join in with the songs. Every time the Ipswich boys started to sing we drowned them out with one of ours...... simple as that! Well done to all in L1

Yesterday while it was hardly spine tingling there was noise. And every time I go to the Walkers L1 seems to be getting bigger and bigger. I think it's a general trend that home fans aren't particularly great - there was a better atmosphere yesterday than at Selhurst Park, Home Park and Ashton Gate this season. The only stadium I've been to recently to watch Leicester that generated a better atmosphere (and admittedly it was MUCH better) was St Mary's. Whether it's right or wrong there's no denying the atmosphere improves in line with what happens on the pitch. That said there was still moaning in the Kop. I was near the back of F1 and was going mad hearing some woman "For God's sake" this and that. We're 2-0 up you silly cow.

Not a season ticket holder and unliklely to be for some time. As far as I'm aware it's STH-only right? As I said it looks like it's growing though so maybe it will merge into non-STH areas...

Yes it is all ST but I cannot see that lasting especially if attendances and performances rise. The South Stand is full of people who want atmosphere but do not wish to create it, therefore no atmosphere is created unless its a very simple song. I don't understand a "fan" who cannot show their support for their team via singing, and then goes and sits in a place where singing "was" traditional.

Coventry's fans were pretty bad last season, leaving before half time. Ipswich bought quite a few with them, I expected them to sing a bit more than they did. Although they haven't won away this season they're still in a pretty decent position. At times we had a pretty good atmosphere yesterday. Not the best but just goes to show that a winning position really can get the fans going. Was nice to see fans stay behind at the end singing Ollie's Army.

I see what you're saying there mate but in 'The Kop' there are the select few who do try to create an atmosphere. It may not always work but we do try. From around E1 to F1 there are little pockets at the back of the Kop who will sing but people very rarely join in.

Yep I used to sit in E3 under the battered Pepsi sign & I know the frustrations of starting siongs and no one below the top 3 rows of seating sings. The problem with the South Stand is that it has far too few people who wish to sing and they are all thinly spread along the top. This used to mean that different songs would be sung, and one block may not join in with the other blocks songs! Strange but did happen. I know you and the lot up there and I know you all do sing lots, honestly believe you are wasting your time and you should get over to L1. I was not a fan of L1 until I moved over and that was it for me. People sing together and is by far better than the South Stand.
