Mike the Metal Ed Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Exactly the same as when I left for N then! Its not your fault, seriously get over to L1 for 1 game and you will not leave! Yesterday I shouted over to a bloke leaving the ground about 85 mins "ceya mate" and he flipped me the bird n he got "rent boy rent boy, rent boy rent boy" all the way down the steps You just don't get that in the South Stand. That was great. Not as great as David Wright's camp eye-roll right in front of L1 when he thought a throw-in decision should have gone the other way though.
shrood Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Take my dad for example, he stood in the pens at filbert street and I'm pretty sure he'll remember those memories till the day he dies. He still likes to stand at games, but doesn't like the hassle from the stewards. If I asked him (and just about anybody in the SOUTH STAND) to move to L1 then they'd say it's full of chavs, etc etc. But my dad and his mates moved over to Nblock - A clean slate, no reputation - and they really enjoyed themselves, apart from when the stewards waged in. The problem that L1 has is it's reputation, and as we all know, it's hard to change that, very hard.I don't know what the answer is, but I don't think L1 is it. I know a few geezers of an older age that are the same, however, I think unless they move the 'kop' then L1 is definitely is the answer. It seems more and more people are moving to L and K and gradually (hopefully) this will create a more positive reputation, rather than a few chavs who want to hurl abuse at the away fans. Transferring the kop discarded, anyone who says L1 and the blocks next to it aren't the most likely solution for creating atmosphere is deluded.
Vestan Pance Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 BUT they are undefeated at HOME!!!I think we'd settle for that any fcuking day!!! They were totally SHITE!!! Almost non existanat. I love L1 for the banter and a laugh. Today i could have sat with the gimps in The Kop!!! So you outsing the away fans for the first time since people started to gather in L1 and you think you have the right to start slagging the kop? L1's sole purpose seems to be to provoke the away fans into being louder.

L1's sole purpose seems to be to provoke the away fans into being louder. Now now. Calm down. It's Raj. He's just a (self-confessed) big twat. He doesn't mean any offence. It's just the way he is.

Raj Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Raj you big twat. I seem to have offended the folk in The Kop. I am harmless....and abit simple.......sorry!!!!
Theboybroome Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 L1 on the other hand will never be anything other than a home for chavs and wannabe hardmen. I am definitely neither, therefore your argument is shite!
Raj Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I am definitely neither, therefore your argument is shite! I am both! Im well hard.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I am both!Im well hard. Your workplace must have pretty loose rules on internet porn?!
The People's Hero Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Your workplace must have pretty loose rules on internet porn?! He works for Hairy. Or Hullfox. Or Head Honcho. Or whichever H it is who is the king of porn and dubbed Fridays as porn-at-work-fridays. It's a clumsy moniker, but it works for him.
Simi Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I am both!Im well hard. I think the real reasons as to why Wils was ringing us early this morning are becoming clear.
Maybes Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Oh dear oh dear. L1 FULL of wannabe chavs/hooligans. I dont think so. L1 is full of people who want to create an atmosphere, stand and sing for their team. Even Ian Holloway recognises this.
Floating Fox Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Report from one of their fans on StandUpSitDown: Leicester 2-0 Ipswich Attendance - 24,000 Atmosphere - The fans to our left made some noise, but not good, average at best. We were rubbish, few of the usual singers arrived only a few chants got going. Why it seemed impossible to get "You're not fit to referee?" going for the whole ground is beyond me. No more than a hundred fans applauded the ref off. Standing - Whole section to our left stood all second half, around a dozen of us stood. Really really fat santa "Who ate all the puds?" stood all game next to the huge drum he dwarfed but couldn't play well. Stewards - Two Leicester fans thrown out one took several coppers. No hassle about standing in away end. Policing - As usual

Staf Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I have never sat in L1 but i think it is good to have a bunch of fans who create banter and songs although they never sing the same songs as the kop
Floating Fox Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 One mans view.Second half - try all game. To be fair it is very rare that all of L1 stands, usually just half.
shrood Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I have never sat in L1 but i think it is good to have a bunch of fans who create banter and songs although they never sing the same songs as the kop Hardly their fault though, I'm sure if they could hear what songs the kop were singing then they'd join in.
Maybes Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Hardly their fault though, I'm sure if they could hear what songs the kop were singing then they'd join in. Do hear them occassionally but clapping is what you see most of.
Bert Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I think that Ultras post basically answers the problem. People don't want to move to L1 Because it has a bad repuation. That was why I really think Nblock would have worked but people just didn't seem to want it enough, oh and the fact that the club didn't really want it either.Take my dad for example, he stood in the pens at filbert street and I'm pretty sure he'll remember those memories till the day he dies. He still likes to stand at games, but doesn't like the hassle from the stewards. The problem that L1 has is it's reputation, and as we all know, it's hard to change that, very hard. I don't know what the answer is, but I don't think L1 is it. I'll tell you now the only hassle you get from stewards in L1 is when you have to show them your tickets before the game.
Maybes Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I'll tell you now the only hassle you get from stewards in L1 is when you have to show them your tickets before the game. Oh and when we lynch the stewards for his sweets
Fox in a Box Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I seem to have offended the folk in The Kop. I am harmless....and abit simple.......sorry!!!! L1 is for big gay bears.... with a peanut for a brian.
Bert Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Oh and when we lynch the stewards for his sweets I wish he'd stop bringing eclairs though. Don't like them.
C.J Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 L1 is for big gay bears.... with a peanut for a brian. Whos Brian?
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Well said. It was a f**king stupid thing to say and Ultra knows it. It was a bit of a sweeping statement to make, but L1 does have alot of twats in it, and yes I have sat there a few times before I get jumped on.
