shen Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 Has anyone ever actually seen him play? Yes, several times...
shen Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 One that will pay him more than us. Sadly I'm a doubter. They can still pay him handsome wages in the Danish Superleague. Besides, if he rots away here he'll just gamble his wages away, and he probably wouldn't want that again
shen Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Danish Website Says Casino has agreed terms with Vejle BK, BUT apparently a deal will only materialise if Leicester release him. That's my interpretation anyway, as he mentions that he and Leicester are still "miles apart on reaching an agreement". He's considering flying over tomorrow to meet with Mandaric and discuss things. He doesn't mind if it drags out until the transfer deadline. Norwegian club Fredrikstad has also been in for him...
Monk Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Sounds like he's not keeping his cards close to his chest eh
Jonezy Posted 10 January 2008 Author Posted 10 January 2008 Come on Milan, cut the losses and release the lad....

Toby or not Toby Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Good luck to him, not his fault he wasn't good enough, and he never did anything wrong thats cost us.
FleckneyFox Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 I thought we were gonna let him go for nothing anyway
Monk Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Good luck to him, not his fault he wasn't good enough, and he never did anything wrong thats cost us. Yeah he was a bit of a gamble wasn't he.
brez Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 I don't know why I find that post to be funny, but I... well, I find that post to be funny. I dont know why either - I dont find it funny :-) but maybe it is because it is my hometown you're talking about :-)
brez Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Yes, several times... Me too, I've seen him play often - and I enjoy it every time!!!! First time I saw him, he was only a few hours old :-)
brez Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 I take it he was crap! quite the contrary!!!! But your loss, that you never got a chance to see him in a "real" game in your second league :-)
Stevosevic Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 quite the contrary!!!! But your loss, that you never got a chance to see him in a "real" game in your second league :-) People saw him regularly in reserve games, he was crap and couldn't cope at that level.
brez Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 People saw him regularly in reserve games, he was crap and couldn't cope at that level. Regulary - sorry, I'm laughing. He has played I think three reserves matches - two were won and even though the last one was lost 4-0 he was chosen as man of the play - but .... as I said before, your loss :-)
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Regulary - sorry, I'm laughing. He has played I think three reserves matches - two were won and even though the last one was lost 4-0 he was chosen as man of the play - but .... as I said before, your loss :-) it really isn't! Jimmy is dodgey. EDIT: And our "second league" is probabley better than your first!
brez Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 it really isn't! Jimmy is dodgey.EDIT: And our "second league" is probabley better than your first! ha ha - maybe, maybe not. Tottenham is above your little team and they had problems with AaB, so .... but anyway - I'm entitled to my view of things, you to yours.
Ric Flair Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 ha ha - maybe, maybe not. Tottenham is above your little team and they had problems with AaB, so ....but anyway - I'm entitled to my view of things, you to yours. Well yes, but we beat Tottenham in the cup a couple of years ago. But that doesn't mean anything on the grand scale of things. Nielsen hasn't settled here, we've had about 5 different managers and none of them have deemed him good enough for this level. The law of averages would suggest that if he was good enough then he'd at least have been given a chance under 1 of our many managers we've had this season. He's deemed worse than Paul Henderson whose an absolute horror show of a goal keeper in the past year. I hope he finds another club and starts playing again, but I doubt we'll regret getting rid of him.

Jonezy Posted 15 January 2008 Author Posted 15 January 2008 Jimmy has been a pure professionel during this whole experience. He never moaned, and when told to find a new club, he did so as well. Jimmy is a solid keeper in the best division in Denmark, but his strengths are shot stopping, and not control of the area. He has always flapped at crosses. In this division, which is fast and furious, control of the area is a must for a good keeper. I don't know if you are related to Jimmy or something Brez, but you have to be honest. Leicester was wrong for Jimmy, and Jimmy was wrong for Leicester, so we all have to move on. All the best to Jimmy though.....

Leicester was wrong for Jimmy, and Jimmy was wrong for Leicester, so we all have to move on.All the best to Jimmy though..... No, I'm not related to him :-) We just come from the same town and I know his parents as we are the same age :-) I dont have to be honest or dishonnest about the fact you mention - because it is a fact, that it was wrong all the way. It is just funny that Leicester has been trying to sign him over a couple of years and then when they finally get him ..... As I've written before, I have seen Jimmy play many of his nearly 400 games for AaB, he has - as any goalie - had bad days, but the matches I've seen of that kind have been very few in numbers!!!! (for the Danish speaking/reading: http://ditcentrum.dk/content/kendisblog.aspx) And I too wish Jimmy good luck :-) as you can imagine.
stevec Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Regulary - sorry, I'm laughing. He has played I think three reserves matches - two were won and even though the last one was lost 4-0 he was chosen as man of the play - but .... as I said before, your loss :-) If you saw the goals he did let in during that game you would not think that - he was pathetic - I think MOM for reserve team games is actually "Man or Mouse" not "Man of Match" - he was given it as the mouse. Couldn't catch a cold - unless a betting slip was attached to it
Thracian Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 quite the contrary!!!! But your loss, that you never got a chance to see him in a "real" game in your second league :-) I understand and admire your loyalty, give your close connections to him, but I've wached every game he's played in a Leicester shirt, including friendlies, and he's an excellent shot stopper but no more. If all we needed was a shot stopper we've got another perfectly good one in Paul Henderson. Unfortunately the rigours of English football require a lot more - and most particularly the commanding presence of a guy who can deal efficiently with crosses, command his area generally, do simple things with the minimum of fuss, not drop unnecessary clangers more than very occasionally and talk to his defence. Unfortunately Casino Jimmy has never shown those qualities. In Fulop Leicester borrowed an outstanding example of a good English League goalkeeper. He plucks out crosses like picking apples and he never makes the job look more difficult than necessary. Jimmy's best game for City was in the 4-0 thrashing by Forest Reserves when he had so much to do he could hardly help but make some saves. Even then, though they were good, he was saving getting something in the way of things more than anything else, a foot, a knee yes, a hand too at times. It was quite entertaining at times but we still conceded four and even on that day, Jimmy didn't look in charge of the area, just pretty agile at coping with shots. That won't do for us. Fulop avoids a lot of trouble by dealing with potential problems before they arise. In doing so he gives the opposition the minimum of encouragement. With Jimmy forwards are always alert because he can drop a cross, misconnect with a punch-out, misdirect a kick upfield or present a parried rebound to a lurking predator. That sort of thing makes defenders nervous.
