Pecnik explained that City’s Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion are also interested in securing his services. The young attacking midfielder currently plays for Slovenian side Celje and has impressed Foxes boss Ian Holloway sufficiently to merit a trip to The Walkers Stadium to discuss a possible deal. "I was already at Leicester City,†revealed Pecnik in the Slovenian media. “I took a look at the stadium and around the club and was also in the stands for the Wolverhampton Wanderers game. “The club showed an interest in me and now we will see how they will reply to my club Celje. Words from the coach Ian Holloway mean a lot to me. He said that he has already watched me play on DVD and his wish is that I would soon continue my career in England. “If you ask me, than Leicester City would be ideal for me, but I don't know much about West Bromwich Albion. “It true our president was in London, but I don't know anything else.â€

The Baggies have already held preliminary discussions with NK Celje with a view to signing the talented 21-year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a more conventional striker. As yet no deal has been agreed but I understand a delegation from The Hawthorns recently met Marjan Vengust, president of the Slovenian club, to discuss Pecnik, who has scored seven goals for his club this season. Vengust refused to reveal the name of the club but admitted that there was interest in Pecnik. "I have been in discussions with a club but nothing has been agreed as yet," said Vengust. "There is interest in Nejc but he still has a year left on his current deal.

But i'd like Oliie to put on a Scottish accent and proclaim that Pecnik is a 'rough diamond' and that the Slovenian League is an un-tapped transfer market that he's looking to exploit.
