Bluemoon Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Well, a player with a great scoring record, moves to......................Wolves!!! 1.5m was the sale price......bloody good price. Thought we were interested in him. Looks like another player passes us by that we could easily have obtained. Dosen't bode well for Norris does it......that's two of Ollie's former players ( Martin as well ) gone to other clubs. Perhaps we are not seen as such a good place to come anymore.
whitlock Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 1 place above relegation, we're hardly setting the league alight are we? who could blame them for snubbing us for another team

Since when did we want him, all the speculation I heard was that Wolves were after Howard and we beat them to him. We'd never spend another 1.5m on another striker!!!! Blimey you don't half twist things to be as miserable as possible!!!
Dr_Fox Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 £1.5m for Steve Howard or £1.5m for Ebanks-Blake?? I know which one of those I prefer and it's not the one that now plays for us

Not on Wolves website. Cant remember that we were bidding for this player, so why are we not seen as a good place to come to?
Simi Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Thought they weren't selling anyone Nice one Luggy.

mancunianfox Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 So Plymouth have now sold Ebanks-Blake, Buszaky , Hayles and Dan Gosling and they have not managed to extend Lee Martin's loan. On top of that there is a pretty good chance that Norris may leave as well. No wonder Holloway wanted out. I wonder how Plymouth fans feel about their chairman now?

I tried to find out... but some miserable git decided he didn't like me asking perfectly reasonable questions. I think some of them are just putting there heads in the sand and hoping everything turns out ok.
The People's Hero Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Blimey Holloway was right. Having said that, I think £1.5 million is as over the top for Ebanks-Blake as it was for DJ Campbell.

You will finish above us now, Holloway was right to leave.

Fair play to the bloke he saw this coming.
The People's Hero Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 In a word pissed. You will finish above us now, Holloway was right to leave. Steady on.

Babylon Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Steady on. He obviously hasn't seen us play this year.

Dr_Fox Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 According to this link: http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Foo...Argyle-hit-man/ The £1.5m was a release clause in his contract with Plymouth. Holloway knew all about this release clause so could have signed him for £1.5m at any point Surely nobody can believe that Steve Howard was a better use of £1.5m than Ebanks-Blake. Howard scored 17 goals last season for Derby and is 32 years old Ebanks-Blake has already scored 13 goals already this season and we're barely into January and he's only 21 years old It beggars belief that Holloway didn't try and sign him!
Joe. Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Holloway was right to leave. He left because he knew this would happen, and as Plymouth fans I don't think you can blame him after seeing Gosling and Ebanks Blake both leave in a week, and possibly Norris soon.
Finnegan Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Woopsy, start the wave, Woopsy, Woopsy, start the wave.
Babylon Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 It beggars belief that Holloway didn't try and sign him! Why? We needed something different, we were crying out for a big man with control.
