MikeyT Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Leicester City have today confirmed that goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen has left the Club by mutual consent. Nielsen arrived at the Walkers Stadium in the summer from Danish side AaB Aalborg, but has failed to break into the first team. Meanwhile, Collins John has returned to Fulham following a three-month loan spell with the Foxes. The 22-year-old striker made 11 appearances during his stay - scoring on two occasions. And the Club can also confirm that Radostin Kishishev and Mark de Vries have returned to Leicester following their loan spells with Leeds United.
Ric Flair Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Pleased to see big Mark back, I wonder whether Holloway will require him? If so, I hope he can get that bit of talent he has lurking about out of him.
Mr Happy Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Out with one lot of shite, In comes another lot of shite No disrepect to any of these players but Nielsen's move didn't go as intended, John never really looked like he wanted to be here for long anyways, Kish hasn't had the best of games for us and MDV well he tries his hardest, its not his fault hes shite getting old

How anyone can even give him a chance in the first team is beyond me. He must be 7th in the pecking order now at city, striker wise
mat_j101 Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Why have Kish and MDV back tbh. We ought to try and relase them as well. Theres no point to having them here really, better to move on.

They are a bit late with that news (surprise surprise). Fulham have already sold him on to Watford in a swap for Marlon King!!!!

Yeah but if there is no-one to ship them out to then we're only going to end up paying off their contracts anyway. Pretty pointless unless holloway belives their presence is partiularly bad for morale.
Blue Bob Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Glad to see one more off the wage bill. Another of Allen's poor signings!! Hammond, Maybury. Kaebi, Kishishev, De Vries, Hellings, Kenton and Douglas still to go (I know some are on loan) IMO.
morris1234 Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 poor de vries, hes not a great playe rbut he never stopped trying!

Pretty pointless unless holloway belives their presence is partiularly bad for morale. He has already said it is! Just before Christmas he told 7 or so players to find other clubs as having them all around the training complex etc was bad for the morale of the team.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 It pains me to think we're having to pay all these muppets Six figure sums to move on.
morris1234 Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 It pains me to think we're having to pay all these muppets Six figure sums to move on. thats what confuses me, if you release these players then you would have to pay off their contracts with the compensation dosh but mutual termination ( I THINK) should mean that the club and player agree terms to terminate the contract, whether any money involved in the termination is down to the agreement made by the player and club, and i believe then compensation is not required but can sometimes be included. which brings us back to the Martin Allen situation, it was anounced that he had left by mutual consent but he was in fact sacked by milan which begs the question was he payed the compo or not!!!??? really confuses me sometimes with this sort of thing as do the undisclosed fee's.anybody want to share what they know about mutual consent etc?!
dandannieldanok Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Why have Kish and MDV back tbh. We ought to try and relase them as well. Theres no point to having them here really, better to move on. Agreed, especially in the case of de Vries, let's hope Ollie doesn't start a love affair with him like Allen did.
mat_j101 Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Mutual consent can mean anything. It could mean they agreed to part ways and no money necessary, or it could mean that they agreed to part ways, but that a set amount of money was agreed. If we sack someone or release them, we have to pay up their contract. So unless they tell us, we will not know whether we have paid Jimmy anything or not

Having read some of his comments it seems quite obvious that he's been negotiating some compo for leaving now.
Geo V Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 With Palace on the verge of making their loan deal for midfield ball-winner Shaun Derry permanent, I was hoping his selling club Leeds were going to make Kish his replacement but obviously not. I cant see a future for MDV to be honest as he is now way down the pecking order. It`ll be best to punt him out if possible but Kish is a bit more useful as he can play in midfield or at right-back and lets face it, we need more right-backs As for Nielsen, its the Kaebi situation all over again. Foreigner comes in with a reputation and bombs out without doing a thing. Its a shame that it hasnt worked out but it is annoying that so many players are having their contracts cancelled, obvioulsy at a cost and have done nothing for our club with this dude being the latest. At least the shite is being removed I suppose.
AyewJoking Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 How much did we sign Nielsen for? Throwing money down the drain but at least he's off our hands now.
Daggers Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 I still remember sitting with Mablo and laughing hysterically as Blondie came rushing out flapping at balls during the Notts County game. I wanted to convince myself it was nerves at playing in such a great but empty stadium. Oh well...
Joe. Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Pleased to see big Mark back, I wonder whether Holloway will require him? If so, I hope he can get that bit of talent he has lurking about out of him. To be honest I doubt Holloway will use De Vries much if at all. Howard is his number one striker, and De Vries would fall into the "big man" catergory which by my thoughts means De Vries would be second in this pecking order. That's obviously if Holloway still wants to play a big man like De Vries should Howard get injured. But Holloway has seen probably nothing of De Vries since his time here so he's got a chance to prove himself. I hope he does to be honest.
lookwhaticando Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 How much did we sign Nielsen for? Throwing money down the drain but at least he's off our hands now. If the (Danish) papers from the time we signed him are to be believed, we paid around 230k quid for him.
Staf Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Cant say anything about the goalie considering i seen him play once but is good to see De Vries and Kish back hopefully they can now find permanent moves
