Mack Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Because if we are then I strongly suggest the club / Milan invest some money in a new playing surface and a groundsman capable of maintaining it to a playable standard. That pitch is a disgrace and completely goes against the style of play that Holloway is trying to adopt within the team.
lavrentis Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Surely we can't blame the pitch Well maybe not but It gives a bad impression and it is embarrassing.

Well most of our play seems to be played in the sky so i don't think it really matters what the pitch is like tbh.
northern fox Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 why don't we all just admit it Leicester will be playing in league 1 next season we all have these high hopes but for the last 2 seasons we have finished just above the relegation place unfortantly i feel our luck has run out and this year we will go down we played an poor plymouth side who have lost half the best players and are made us to look worse than them. Its embarressing to see leicester play i hate to think what Holloway had to say would be some bollox about how we were unlucky etc we wern't unluck we were a league 1 team out of our depth

Keep the faith.

Hoofball? Its not the pitch you should be complaining about. Blame the wind / quality of air. Oh yeah, we have a shit playing side too.
Mack Posted 10 February 2008 Author Posted 10 February 2008 I agree there are many more problems with the club that just the pitch. But knowing at home you have to try and perform on a pitch like that creates extra problems at a time when we dont need anymore than we have already. I really hope someone takes the required steps to put that right before the next home game.
Matt Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I love listening to excuses when we've lost. At least it's something to smile about. Yet when we win we're world beaters and contenders for promotion. When will people take their heads out their asses, take of the blue tinted glasses and admit we're a poor, shite team? I'll support my club, I'll keep turning up to games however hard it may be, I'll stick up for my club if someone slags them off, but one think I won't do is make excuses - When we're shit, we're shit, It's not the referee's fault, it's not the pitches fault, it's not the feckin halt time entertainments fault....Just admit it, when we deserve to lose.
MikeyT Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Surely we can't blame the pitch I agree. You cant blame the pitch. Palace played well on it and so did Plymouth, so you cant say its the pitch!

Well Plymouth seem to manage to play some decent passing football as for Holloway's type of football he talks a passing game but picks a hoofing team. As for giving a bad impression and being embarrassing I think perforamnce of the team provided that I doubt any neutral noticed the pitchy.
Mack Posted 10 February 2008 Author Posted 10 February 2008 I am certainly not making any excuses for the performance, it was very very poor. But a pitch like that for your home games must be really depressing, mind you, everything about the club seems that way these days. If you are looking for the bottom line for our problems then you wont find it in a nutshell. Things were very wrong prior to Milan, then sadly all the shenanigans Milan has been responsoble for since have just put us even more in the shit. The point I was making, and I maintain, is as a Championship outfit with 'ambition' sureley our club can produce a playing surface that does not resemble a paddy field. I agree that Palarse and Argyeeeellleee ooooh aaaarrrr got something out of it, but for them it's a one off game, for us it's supposed to be the foundation of our performances every other week.

Why do we make excuses about the pitch? It didnt stop Plymouth trying to pas it around did it? Or are our prima donnas only used to playing on the finest turf? Too many excuses guys. Its geting fcuking boring. No excuses for ineptness(Is that word?)

I refer you to the post I made one hour before you put this. It's not an excuse, but it is a disgrace.
leicesterseddon Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 we should change the pitch; we would have won 8-0 on a better surface the pitch plymuff played on last night was much better there are bigger problems at the club than the pitch FFS
Darkzzz_ Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I blame Filbert... He didnt wash his shirt... Bad Luck all over it!!
Daggers Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Well maybe not but It gives a bad impression and it is embarrassing. That's not something you could say about Mike Yarwood. Actually, you could. We play on Mike Yarwood.
Geo V Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 The pitch is shocking and looks like it has come out of December 1965 or something. We are serious about success but we at this stage are full of averageness and are trying to get an identity and heart to move on. It will happen but if we all pull together. We need a break too but football is all about confidence and at the moment, we have fook all and wouldn't fancy ourselves against a Rymans League club.
Mack Posted 11 February 2008 Author Posted 11 February 2008 Spot on mate, the laclustre attitude seems to run right through the club from the Manager, through the players and obviously right down to the groundsman. But who is going to shake it up? and is Milan's heart really in it?

I would be thinking that Milan is growing ever more impatient, I know that he said he had a 3 year plan but still i think he was expecting to see some signs of inprovement in the first season. I think that we all did.
Sods Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Its going to be like that till the end of the season. So get used to it, i like it.
