teblin Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Preston North End manager Alan Irvine is set to make an £80,000 move for Leicester striker Iain Hume. (Mirror) I'm guess it is 800,000. Doesn't sound like alot of cash for him. Maybe could be a swap for whalley?
MikeyT Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I'm guess it is 800,000. Doesn't sound like alot of cash for him.Maybe could be a swap for whalley? , i cant imagine it will be £80,000 thats for sure, but i thought he would be worth more than £800,000. Cant imagine Ollie would want him to go or that he himself would want to!
Asha Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 At the end of the day money's not that important anymore, it's about shifting players we don't want and rejecting offers for those we do.
MikeyT Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Well no matter what anyone says about Hume, id sooner have him in our team than having him play against us. He may not be the most talented player but you can see when he plays, that alot of the time he has the passion there, even if he is out of position on the wing.He actually reminds me alot of a young Paul Dickov.

Agreed, he's a good player up front, but the last 3/4 managers have all wanted to play him out of position for some reason.
Micky Ruddle Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 £80,000? The fee for Hume was an initial £500,000 but that could rise to £750,000 From Tranmere to Leicester That would be poor business. He's been off form recently, i hope he can find his feet again.
Asha Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 He had a good run in early December I believe...hope he matches that again now.
Master Fox Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I'd take £80,000 for him. Pretty decent offer if you ask me.

Dr The Singh Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Akinbiyi is/was a better player than Hume. God we've had some sh*t players over the years!!!! Very true, that's why they call us Leicester Shity!!!
Father Ted Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I'm guess it is 800,000. Doesn't sound like alot of cash for him.Maybe could be a swap for whalley? Recently a lot of people have been criticising Hume but he is not a right-winger. On Saturday he was one of our better players, he was battling and trying to create chances, the job Clemence should have been doing but didn't. Hume is an out and out striker and is still our top scorer this season and his goals kept us in this division last season. Hume and Howard are easily the best strike partnership here at Leicester and if last season he could have scored 14 (?) goals with no particular strike partner, virtually on his own imagine if he forged a partnership with Howard = GOALS. It would be absolutely ridiculous if we sold him for 80,000 or 800,000 to Preston of all teams.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I'm not Hume's biggest fan but £80k's a fcuking joke. £1-1.5m would be a fair price imo
Bryn Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I'd keep him unless we got over a million. Hard working players at a shit club like ours aren't ten a penny and he is decent up front, usually our top scorer when we allow him a run there. He shows that he does have skill quite often, like his deft pass over the backline for Oakley against Plymouth. He is just so wasted on the wing.
Super Arj Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 i hope he doesnt go hes the only one who actually wants to play for leicester
Jimmy Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 i hope he doesnt gohes the only one who actually wants to play for leicester does he? lately it seems he only wants to play for himself otherwise he wouldn't be sulking at playing on the wing
ibbosuk Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Ummmmm no! What option has the manager got? Its change the player time, again!!. Or Milan change the manager, those are the stark options.
Darkzzz_ Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 No we do not sell hume!! I think a lot of our players could learn from him in terms of wearing your heart on your sleeve!! ok he has been poor of late, but i would want to keep hold of him!
Blue Bob Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 £80,000 is a joke for Hume. I think it is a bit unfair, if this is true, to start leaking this to the press as the window is now closed and all it might do is unsettle a player for the rest of the season. And lets face it they are all pretty unsetlled as it is!!!!

Staf Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I would sell him if the right offer came in but £80,00 is a joke
