Rincewind Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Art form?Think that might be putting it a bit strong. Couldn't think of the right phrase. Goes alongside dominoes as a great pub game and even one that allows families to talk to each other on cold winter nights.
The People's Hero Posted 11 February 2008 Author Posted 11 February 2008 I play it (semi-) competitively about twice a year. Social thing really, myself and partner are pretty good. I've got to drive this time though (booo!)
Rincewind Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 My brother plays bridge. One of the top players in England. Travels the country competing in competitions.

The People's Hero Posted 12 February 2008 Author Posted 12 February 2008 We played a rival pub. Three pairs on each side. Myself and partner won all 6 of our games. The final score was a 12 - 6 defeat though. Fu cking idiot team mates.

What cards do I have in my hand. I'd say 2 fives and 2 jacks, always assuming the card in the middle(can't remember what it's called) is no use.

Correct, the card in the middle must be correct suit to allow 'one for his nob' though, correct suit but neither a 5 nor a 10.
