Am I allowed in here yet?

The only reason I started posting was because one day I hoped I'd get in.

LCFC, yeah whatever.

Inner Circle, hell yeah.

I can see why people get fed up with this moderating lark now, I never expected to be accused of faviouratisem for deleting one of TPH posts.

lol The grass is always greener Manwell!

We might already have one but I couldn't be bothered to go and find it. I just want a safehaven where I can post without it being deleted.

Can we be 'Thread Protectors' of this - given powers to delete all posts of posters not in the inner circle?

Mablo - you'll get used to it mate. You're probably the token friendly moderator who will become the scapegoat when the place falls apart (ref1: me, ref2: fez, ref3: daggers).

You didn't have to click on it or post in it. You only seem to surface to have a go at someone, which is slightly more pathetic.

Oh Dear, thing is i knew you wouldnt be far behind TPH.

I started the thread. What are you on about?

I genuinely don't understand this problem that random people who I've never met have with me and TPH. We went to uni together. We've known each other for years.

If anything this thread is a bit of an in-joke, given that anyone who came to either of the FT games knows there's no inner bloody circle. There were about 30 of us in the pub afterwards.

You might think it's an in-joke, my fez-wearing, woman-seducing, popular-culture-shunning friend, but I take it very very seriously indeed.

Don't share the biscuits with the plebs..

I thought it was about Fez campaigning to keep the soon to be cancelled bus route. :D

MAJOR BUS ROUTE UNDER THREAT AS COSTS ESCALATE

BY BY JENNY CORNISH

CHIEF POLITICAL REPORTER

10:30 - 25 January 2008

A major bus route is under threat after council bosses said they could not justify spending £450,000 in a year on it.

The inner circle route, which has run on a 15-mile loop around the city for decades, could now be cancelled.

Figures show only one passenger uses the bus for every two miles and the council wants to stop paying a subsidy to the company which runs it.

Alternative school bus services could be put in place to cater for children who use the route.

Coun Patrick Kitterick, cabinet member for transport, said: "When you look at the figures, to subsidise the 10 and 11 service we're currently spending £450,000 a year. That's risen from £125,000 a year. It also represents a third of our entire bus subsidy budget.

"The service has sadly declined in usage and it picks up about one passenger every two miles.

"There are 180,000 trips a year but it travels an estimated distance of 360,000 miles a year. Basically the bus often only has one passenger on it.

"We will be looking to end it within three months. The service will end in time for the new financial year.

"There will be some people that will be inconvenienced by it but it just can't be justified. We can't justify spending £450,000 a year on that kind of service.

"Just throwing money at these things doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get value for money."

Yesterday, the Mercury went to Evington Road to see if anyone was using the bus. There were two people on one service and one passenger on another.

One woman, who got off the service, said: "It is very good because it goes to the General Hospital.

"The services are good. I would miss it."

Matt Follett, Green Party group leader, said: "We need to make sure that any city bus services are more frequent and more affordable for people.

"To remove subsidies from these bus services seems to punish the poorer people in the city.

"I can understand why they think it's not viable, but then they need to get more people to use it."

The council aims to save just over £300,000 in its budget and, by cutting the service, will have £150,000 to reinvest in other transport plans.

Woods Coaches took over the inner circle route in 1998 after Kinchbus pulled out because of a driver shortage.

A spokesman for Woods Coaches said he could not comment on the proposal.
