FilboFox Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Holloway won't go... Milan isn't that stupid to not realise that if he got rid of him, we'd be in bigger shit than ever before. If Holloway goes, I'll be demanding Milan's head!
davieG Posted 12 February 2008 Author Posted 12 February 2008 I hate Topics like this!!We tread so much of the same ground on here True, maybe you should have a word with Ollie or in this case MM because most of this type of talk happens as a result of something they've said.
Raj Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 interesting quote from the mercury....and yet people are calling for his head. pathetic. a quote from the mercury today: You like this quote innit???
filbertway Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 I really hope he doesn't let him go, we need to have a gaffer in charge for at least 18 months to stamp his mark on the club as a whole. He shouldn't even be getting judged after 10 weeks if you think that he's on what a 3 and half year contract is it? We need a manager in charge for a long period of time to help get some stability at the club and let him get a set of players that will want to work for each other and the fans, it's hard enoguh to do that in 6 months let alone 10 weeks.
Joe. Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 It is slightly worrying I must admit. I'd go as far to say I still wouldn't sack Ollie even if we did happen to go down (not that it's going to happen). We've had three managers this season so far with a couple of caretakers thrown in here and there, and none of them have achieved anymore than the rest. So who's to say a new man would do any better? It would not be good for this club that's for sure. We know what Milan can potentially be like so for Holloway's own sake he's got to start winning some football matches. Let's just get to the end of this season, give Ollie a whole summer to do what he has to do and then decide what his future is. Because sacking him now would be a huge mistake.
Raj Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 True, maybe you should have a word with Ollie or in this case MM because most of this type of talk happens as a result of something they've said. It was a radio Interview DavieG....Do you want him just to say nowt!!!
Raj Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Joe,Filbertway. You are fcuking tossers right! We need...erm...whats the word....er.......... STABILITY!
Jay Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 what a total load of rubbish this thread seems to be it's like we have an entire legion of Sun Journalists posting on here reading into things and misquoting like theres no tomorrow!! "We are not even near where I wanted to be or where I planned to be. do you not think this is since he took over and not just a reflection on the last 3months of course he is disappointed just like we are but it really doesn't say... Holloways out and it's all his fault. the best decision i made for this club was to take this club over the worst decision i made for this club was to take this club over I saw that on Central news at lunch with that big nosed Ginger and it was what some might call tongue in cheek!!! he was smiling and joking when he said it!!
AyewJoking Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 If we fall into the bottom 3 I'll be surprised if Holloway doesnt get sacked. As much as I'm pissed off with Holloway at the moment, surely its too late in the season to bring in another manager and expect us to improve sufficiently to survive relegation.

Gingerism never fails to amuse me. The last vestige of acceptable discrimination.

Thracian Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 If he sacks Holloways he's a noob. I don't think what he is would necessarily be in question. But what he won't want to be is relegated. Now I'm sure you have good reasons why you have such faith in Holloway but from what's happened here so far I'm at a loss to imagine what they might be. Yes, he's got rid of some slack. But there are 50-odd regulars on here would have done that. What else? The bloke has won only 4 of his 16 matches so far. We've scored just 15 goals. Imagine Ultra was manager and had a record like that. And who have we got new to cheer about from the much awaited transfer window? I was moderately encouraged til I saw them play and found out we've got four old stagers, a decent goallie and two seriously inexperienced wingers who still have much to learn about English football. Young players have been exiled and it now means we have seven old stagers in the team. If Ollie were brilliant, of course, he might be able to work enough magic to blend those people into an improved side. But where's the evidence of him doing that? We've played well once in five games since the newcomers arrived. And sadly our selection alternatives are seriously limited. A win tonight will bring temporary euphoria - there's hope cos even Kelly won at Watford - but I fail to see how it will solve the problems other than giving a much-needed boost to confidence. We might escape relegation and it's a big MIGHT. But whether that will be in spite of Holloway rather than because of him remains to be seen. I just think that publicly criticising the players will come back to haunt him. But let's hope I'm wrong.
Webbo Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 two seriously inexperienced wingers who still have much to learn about English football. Yeah, we don't want any inexperienced wingers. Get Gradel in.
Raj Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 She thinks this thread is enough to slit ones wrist!!!

Even if it was satan Ultra, who I have no problem with I'd still want him in charge, I jsut want to see some one actually be givena chance to put their stamp on the team. Levein had time and even though we didn't do that well ,I thought we started playing some good football and we were only a decent striker and midfielder off being a comfortable mid table side I think. But yeh let's try stability, we've tried "tring a new manager if it doesn't look like turning the corner after 10 games" I'd rather we tried giving the manager at least half the length of his contract before assessing where we are. Olliehas a proven record in this league and obviously knows what we need to do well. Some managers are going to get it wrong some will get it right but I think it's unfair and harsh to judge whether theyve got it right in under 6 months to be honest. IMO and all that sheez.
