MC Prussian Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Bryan Robson has been offed now.http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...utd/7238885.stm Get him in! (Sorry, couldn't resist the temptation)
Darkzzz_ Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I have always said he was useless!! yet again they have proved me right!!
Joe. Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Hardly a surprise to be honest, it's been coming for ages.
LeeCovFox Posted 14 February 2008 Author Posted 14 February 2008 I have always said he was useless!!yet again they have proved me right!! Agreed. That Middlesbrough side in 1997 is probably the strongest ever to have been relegated from the Premier League.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 It's about as surprising as Stan Collymore leaving Leicester in a huff and it turning out that there was something a bit dodgy about West Ham's signings of those Argentinian lads
Darkzzz_ Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Agreed. That Middlesbrough side in 1997 is probably the strongest ever to have been relegated from the Premier League. Oh yes... That side had so much didnt it... I still dont know how they went down??
MC Prussian Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I love that one magic sentence in that article: "Sheffield United will make clear their plans for a massive restructure of the football club later on Thursday." Milan, are you reading this? That's what you should've done before doing any further investment.
MPH Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 But in the Sun this morning it said he was safe dont you just love the sun....
Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 There may have been many managers sacked this season but here's one that deserved to go - indeed one who should never have been appointed in the first place.
joely22 Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Davies for Shef Utd I reckon. Then he can raid us.
isaidno Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Not suprised at all. I said at the start of the season that they would struggle with Robson in charge and I am right. I've never rated him at all.
The Stig Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I'm all for giving managers time but I'm don't think Bryan Robson is a good manager. Wrong appointment in the first place I think.
LeeCovFox Posted 14 February 2008 Author Posted 14 February 2008 dont you just love the sun.... Not as much as the Daily Kill All Immigrants And Gays. Or the Daily Mail as you may know it.
Simi Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I think Chairman need to take a long look at themselves and think why these appointments aren't working. I thought it was clear to everyone that Robson was no more than a defensive manager who never really got that far as a manager. Some of the appointments are well and truly confusing.

I don't think appointments are any more baffling now than they have been in the past. Its just that chairmen are now more trugger happy. This, once again, is a problem caused by money in the sport. Nobody has any patience any more because they want money, now, which means success, now.
lildave3 Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Davies for Shef Utd I reckon. Then he can raid us. You really want rid!
Simi Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Sky Sports News understands Bryan Robson has left Sheffield United after turning down the opportunity to become a director of football.Kevin Blackwell has been drafted in as Robson's replacement until the end of the season. The former Leeds and Luton manager is already well acquainted with the club having been assistant manager there during Neil Warnock's stint as boss. Robson had come under intense pressure of late over the club's faltering campaign, with some sections of the Bramall Lane faithful having vociferously called for his head. Earlier on Thursday reports suggested Robson was to be 'moved upstairs' following a meeting with United's plc chairman Kevin McCabe and club supremo Terry Robinson in Brussels on Wednesday. However, Robson has rejected the opportunity to take a director of football role and instead, parted company altogether. United have endured a poor Championship campaign thus far and currently sit a disappointing 16th and are well off the promotion pace. 50-year-old Robson took charge of The Blades in the summer, less than two-weeks after they were relegated from the Premier League under Neil Warnock. Brian Kidd has also left the club, while Sam Ellis will assist Blackwell. From Sky Sports.
