I've been to Accrington, Southampton, Charlton and Blackpool this season along with Forest, Villa and Chelsea, as well as going many places including Ipswich, Preston and fcking Plymouth last season. What section do I fall into??

I want to know who's side I'm aligned with :P

Glory hunting,band wagon jumper

Interesting.

Let's look back.

Palace - 1,300

Scunny - 700

Colchester - 500

Preston - 400

Charlton - 1,000

Wolves - 800

Hull - 300

QPR - 800

Ipswich - 500

Blackpool - 1,700

Let's compare to the Carling Cup.

Chelsea - 6,244

Forest - 5,000

Villa - 4,000

So do the Cup games represent more attractive or Premiership opposition, the special excitement of Cup football or the fact that we'll have a go in the Cup?

I don't go to away League matches any more because the negativity and complete lack of ambition makes me sick.

Mandaric talks about giving something back to the fans but he should take a look at the videos of those away games, particularly Blackpool and Hull.

I must fall into the ‘fairweather’ supporter group because I’ve only been to a handful of away games this season, and yes they were all the big ones.

People are branding some fans as ‘fairweathers’ because they don’t go to every away game, yet I imagine most of the 5000 that are going Cov on Saturday go to every home game so how can they be classed as fairweathers or part-time supporters. What about these people that don’t go to home games but go to away games?

I pick and choose my away games because I can, if we were successful then our average away support will increase, it shouldn’t be like it that but it is. People will realise that if they want tickets for the big games then they will have to go to other away games.

People complain when we take less than a thousand to places and people complain when we take 5000 to places, can't we just be happy that we will have a good following for once.

I can empathise with the moaners on this one a bit as the loyal supporters don't get any recognition, benefits or rewards for the long trips made but it's just propaganda and you've got to live with it these days.

Listen Chaps!

To Watch any Leicester game live involves either the channel tunnel, 8 hours in the car 200 quid and pissied off family, or 300 quid on plane tickets, 300 quid in hotels and car hire plus visits to london/hard rock cafe / expensive shopping to keep er indoors and the sprogs happy! (not including the cost of the ticket)

When i Lived in leicester I went to every home game, some away games and stayed till the bitter end.

I would give my left knacker to see more games, sh1te or not.

We have a fantastic support - 20k on saturdays seems to be usual, many prem clubs don't get that.

Stop moaning

we will win the Championship next season!

How can any one call anyone a Part Time supporter???

If you are talking about those who jump on the bandwagon when we are in a final or have a decent win then I apologise for the following rant :D

I find it offensive. I have supported City since I can remember, before most of you were born no doubt!

I get to as many (Home & Away) games as I can yet you lot would deem me as a Part Timer because I cant get to every game?!?!?

I have Kids to feed and bills to pay and I like thousands of others wouldnt jepordise them for Football irrigardless of how we are performing.

But fans dont goto games to be 'rewarded' do they?

Im sure even if MM booked coaches to take people to the next away game(NOT Covo) people would still moan and say

"fcuk that i aint going on no coach with a bunch of windowlickers!"

If he gave other "incentives' people would critisise that as him arse licking to get into peoples good books,or whatever... :)

Don't disagree, but like most people, to keep a good job means working more and more hours leaving less time to spend with the loved ones. Even so, we have keep a little time for ourselves (otherwise i'd go nuts) and going to see leicester is my one vice - don't smoke, do drugs, go out drinking (would like to) i see at most 6 -8 games a year - am i a part time supporter? :dunno:

Peoples priorities in life change mate.

Course you gotta look after the family first.

Football is an expensive game, especially to away games.

Im sure some of these younger lads will miss a few games when they settle down have kids etc..

You gotta do what you gotta do.

I personally couldnt give fcuk if anyone said i was a glory hunter(i started going City V Cambridge 5-0 and have had a ST ever since, and used to go to many away games) but if wanted to goto Cov away i will go to Cov away regardless of being labelled a Glory hunter/band wagon jumper etc...(PS i went to BOTH Forset games away so there!!!)

Im not old...22 infact!!

But like i mentioned before, i have my house, my car, my bills oh and my woman to pay for... lol the latter actually earns more than me at the moment... good girl!!

But all that aside my point is i cant make every away game, like people above have said, there comes a time when things take control, such as bills etc...

It's horrible but it is life!!

I have supported Leicester right since i can remember, i know a few Leicester fans (not that they deserve that tag) who were with us when we were in the Prem, i see them now and they dont know what players we have, what league we are in... etc....

They are the glory boys!! I hate them!!

Don't let it bother you. It's your choice and they make theirs.

I think some diehard fans want to be recognised as something special or to feel part of something. From what I've seen the social side of going away is every bit as important as the football.

Many travel together on the buses and it's a bit of a club within a club. And if people want to belong and feel part of it, why not?

Some I know don't have kids or the demands on their time that families or perhaps having to work at weekends bring so being with "the club" at weekends is relatively easy.

A few diehards undoubtedly look down on the part-timers though probably wouldn't want to admit it and others wear their dedication like a badge of honour.

A chap I spoke to at Hinckley last week virtually opened the conservation by declaring he'd visited 2,680-odd grounds as a fan since the 1940's. He didn't actually say "beat that" but the implication was there. Mind you, that is some achievement when you think about but he had records for every occasion.

In truth though circumstances play a big part in how much of a fan people can be. Many couldn't afford to visit 2,680 grounds, either in terms of time or money.

Some can't watch as much football as they'd like because of playing themselves or coaching or refereeing or taking their kids/grandkids to play.

Others have other things they want to do or just pick and chose because it's their choice. Whatever anyone else thinks.

Mandaric confirmed that he had been left 'astonished' by the level of loyalty and dedication that has been shown by the Club's fans since he began his tenure at the Walkers Stadium 12 months ago.

Speaking to the club's official website, Mandaric said: "I would like to thank our fans from the bottom of my heart for the tremendous support they have given the team since I arrived here.

"The passion and faith that they have displayed has been unbelievable.

Isn't he giving the fans recognition here?

As Babylon said, the point of the article is to talk about the support over the past 12 months, which is his way of recognising the efforts the fans have gone to to follow the team. If there wasn't the comment about how many we're taking to Coventry, would there have been this much fuss made of it?

Also, didn't he lay on free coach travel last season for an away fixture? Obviously I appreciate that this wouldn't benefit every fan as people travel from various parts of the country to the game so won't be going from leicester, but surely that was a gesture to show the fans that he appreciated the lenghts people go to to follow their club. Some might argue it was just a big publicity stunt but then people will pick fault in anything if they want to.

I know it's not much of a reward, but the priority system for away tickets goes some way to ensuring that 'loyal' supporters don't miss out on tickets for big games when 'fairweather' supporters crawl out the woodwork. Don't you get a different priority number based on how many away games you've been to? One of the lads I sit with gets tickets for every away game sent to him cos he's been to most away games over the past 6 seasons.

Obviously in order to get the most out of this you need to be a member/season ticket holder otherwise they probably don't store the records of the ordering history of random people if they have no way of recognising them via member number/client reference, but there's certainly a system in place to keep records of how many away tickets you've bought.

2680 odd!! bloody hell. Does the man not like Money :D

Come to think of it, are there 2680 Grounds in the country? Even if he followed them in Europe we never progressed far enough or consistantly enough to bump to those figures.

I didn't say they were all watching Leicester.

The day I met him he'd been somewhere else to see a game that afternoon.

He'd also travelled all over Europe though whether beyond he didn't say.

Maybe people are willing to travel to Coventry and Forrest because they can get there in reasonable time and not write off their entire Saturday. I only tend to go to the London based away games because they are easy to get to for me, I'd have to leave so early to get to some of the games up North.

And i bet you thought it was gonna be me eh??? :D

Wouldnt you think it would make us abit of a laughing stock if the Chairman-

"Praises Citys fans for 800 who went to Hull (Or whatever it was!)?

If that was on Sky Sports other clubs fans would piss themselves laughing.

Obviuosly its easy for people to goto Cov,hence there are so many going, but i agree some of these lot should goto some of the less 'prestigous' away games too.

Remember all them Cov fans who went man utd in the cup!...Where are all of them now???

However if a handful out of these DO start going regularly, surely thats a good thing innit?

But MM also (rightly so too) thinks that 22,000+ at The Walkers to watch shite for the last 4 years is commendable.

It is.

IM not sure about statistics but i bet there arent alot who have averaged more than us over that period in what has been total garbage and our club being a laughing stock in football.

Im sure many an older ST holder has thought about not renewing due to the goings on at our club.

Again,i wanna emphasis that its the hardcore of fans who go week in week out, year after year,no matter the results who are the backbone of any football club,so well done to you all.

Its these fans who follow any club regurarly who pass this commitment onto future generations which keeps the lifeline in football.

P.S Before anyone asks NO i am not going to Cov. :)

HOws that for a boring load of shite so early in the morning!

It doesn't have to be praising us for taking 800 to Hull at all. I don't get why people are seriously over-reacting to my post thinking I'm asking him to come to my house personally and thank me. Some of the reactions are quite laughable.

It's the lack of "thanks" to the people that are still going to games when we're in the shit. Not thanking us when 5,000 turn out after we've just won a game. I doubt he'd come out when we're in a shit period and thank us for our amazing support. Infact Holloway came out and criticized the fans when we were in the shit.

No, they don't go to get rewarded. But I'll refer back to the people the club want to please. Would you say that the club is currently "licking the arse" of the families and young children? Especially given the recent marketing schemes?

A lot of people's views on here though are that he only gives credit before/after the more high profile games e.g. Chelsea, Forest, Coventry and not after trips to Burnley on a Tuesday night etc.

Isn't that the whole point? That the support isn't magnificent?
