Trumpet Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I see where Ched's coming from, but, I think if Milan thanked 300 fans for going to a game 200 miles away, in which we loose, 2-0, poorly, it'd mean he's also got to say sorry in a way for the poor showing. And as we've saw so far this season, or what we haven't seen, is jhim coming out and apologising for a poor season. I think he just doesn't want to "admit defeat" in a way. Anyway, I'd love to go to all the away games, but my work gets in the way. Booked the Saturday off for Stoke though . Seriously though, I think it comes down to everyone to their own. I can't blame people for not going away much, or at all this season, it's not been great. But I don't like how everyone decides to go Chelsea etc. A bit contradictory really. In a nut shell, i salute the fans that go to all, or the majority of the away games, something which I'd love to be able to do, like many others on here. But if I drop the work on Saturdays, I have no money for the games. Can't win really
Fat Ron Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Infact Holloway came out and criticized the fans when we were in the shit. No, he actually critisised the behaviour towards one of his players, which I agree with him on. You are not going to get any where near a players potential when 20k+ are shouting him down everytime the ball goes near him! Holloway has never critisised the fans for a lack of support, just that reaction at that particular game.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I'm not branding anyone as a fairweather at all. That's not the point of this thread. Read the opening post. It may not have been the point of the thread but the term fairweather has been used a number of times to describe people that have only been to the big away games so far this season. I can't believe so many people are getting worked up by Milan's comments, can't we just take them with a pinch of salt.
Staf Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I cant believe some of the attendances but in a way i can it is dissapointing but i know alot of fans who went Chelsea who dont even support leicester and i think that is sad because some fans who support leicester couldnt get tickets
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I didn't say they were all watching Leicester. The day I met him he'd been somewhere else to see a game that afternoon. He'd also travelled all over Europe though whether beyond he didn't say. Fair play to him, although that is a lot of grounds... Is he a believable person? If so then good on him, if he has the cash, the commitment and the time to do that then who am i to knock him. I have always wanted to do the whole 92 grounds in the football leagues...

Trumpet Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Don't waste your holiday guv, stoke's on a sunday according to my fixture list Oops.. I work Sundays aswell, so I might aswell book the weekend off
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I cant believe some of the attendances but in a way i can it is dissapointing but i know alot of fans who went Chelsea who dont even support leicester and i think that is sad because some fans who support leicester couldnt get tickets Yes i know what you mean here mate, But i cant talk because i took my brother who is a Liverpool fan and my mate who is a Chelsea fan (He didnt dare cheer though) I wasn't going to go on my own and i didn't want to give tickets to Leicester fans i know who suddenly became fans again and wanted to go against Chelsea but dont ever go to any other games!! So that's why i took them two!!
cecchini Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 No, your a drunk and a smack head!!! oh merde - will watch how i type next time....
Babylon Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 It's the lack of "thanks" to the people that are still going to games when we're in the shit. Not thanking us when 5,000 turn out after we've just won a game. I doubt he'd come out when we're in a shit period and thank us for our amazing support. Firstly he doesn't go into specifics who he is thanking... it's your opinion he means the people going to Coventry. He quite clearly does not say that though. As for thanking people that go to games when we are shit, he has mentioned how "great" the support is on numerous occasions, so has Holloway. So I suggest you pay more attention in the future.
Floating Fox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 How can any one call anyone a Part Time supporter???If you are talking about those who jump on the bandwagon when we are in a final or have a decent win then I apologise for the following rant I find it offensive. I have supported City since I can remember, before most of you were born no doubt! I get to as many (Home & Away) games as I can yet you lot would deem me as a Part Timer because I cant get to every game?!?!? I have Kids to feed and bills to pay and I like thousands of others wouldnt jepordise them for Football irrigardless of how we are performing. I fully understand that people have other priorities than Leicester, but in my opinion thats what makes a so called 'diehard' - Someone who will drop other commitments to watch city. I don't have anything against people that don't go because A) They don't enjoy it anymore or B) They have other things to do But if they have other things to do (As you say, Job, Family, Missus etc) why can they suddenly drop all of these commitments for the 'big' games? It's because the opposition are glamourous.

The only game I remember was Bristol, when our support was great, that we have been thanked by Holloway. Most of the time, our support is poor, even when we take 300 to Hull. And for those wanking over our home attendence, one word - FREE TICKETS!
Wozski Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Paul Mc cartnry is performing the na na na na song played just before leicester games kick off :D That'll be Hey Jude!!

Free tickets or not it's the 4th highest average attendance in the Championship this season (according to the NotW on Sunday) for a team that has been utter shit for a long time. So yes I think people should be entitled to masturbate over our home attendance if they wish.

Pre-Mandaric we still had good home support so that free ticket excuse goes straight out of the window. And besides, how many games did he give give free tickets out? 2, maybe 3? How do you explain the other home games were 21-24.000 have turned up?

I just think that you have to take the fact that we do have the 4th Highest average with a rather large pinch of salt seeing as the club do very well at giving free tickets out.
maddog Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Jesus, You really are an arse!At least if your going to make stupid comments that you believe in, take the abuse like a man and stand by your comments not "retract" them because your taking aload of flack. Why do people think we're the only club in the world who've played shite for 4 years? It's bollocks. We don't belong in the premiership, no matter what people say! Comments like those are very patronising to those of us who actually stick or neck out week in week out and make these games, come rain or shine - We'll be there. Shut up. Just because one of you mis read the meaning of my post and i got confused bcos the Cardiff home game was on Sky. ****. You guys take everything so seriously on here its hilarious. Most of the stuff i post on here is crap because you lot are so easy to wind up Your so gullable to believe that i believe everything i post on here is what im thinking and you just lash out at me! It's called having a sense of humour. Im just a Leicester fan who doesn't take this forum so seriously.

I believe league rules are you can only do promotions for a certain number of games. Other clubs do exactly the same as us family days, kids for a quid etc etc
Floating Fox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I believe league rules are you can only do promotions for a certain number of games. Other clubs do exactly the same as us family days, kids for a quid etc etc We are one of the best, if not the best club, at doing promotions in our league. No-one does the freebies like us.
Koke Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 We are one of the best, if not the best club, at doing promotions in our league. No-one does the freebies like us. How many freebies have been given out? 2? or 3? And as Babylon said, other clubs do pretty much the same. And besides, our home support post-Milan has been pretty much the same as pre-Milan. Maybe we average a little higher now, but my point still stands.
Babylon Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 We are one of the best, if not the best club, at doing promotions in our league. No-one does the freebies like us. So you know for certain no other teams do promotions... Or are you just making that up to serve your point?

And as Babylon said, other clubs do pretty much the same. And besides, our home support post-Milan has been pretty much the same as pre-Milan. Floating Fox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 So you know for certain no other teams do promotions... Or are you just making that up to serve your point? I never said that other clubs don't do promotions... Our club has done very well to attract fans to the walkers by doing several promotions. For example we were the first club in the country to introduce the Under8's for free & also the GrassRoots scheme that we have. The marketing dept. need a pat on their backs in my opinion.
Daggers Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I have Prince Buster's Magnificent Seven going round and around my head now.
Babylon Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I never said that other clubs don't do promotions... Ok, so you know for a fact we do more promotions than any other team?
