Tommeh Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Yep, was there aswell. What made it better was the fact I was 15/16 and had £1 on the 2-2 @ 14/1 and it came in. HAPPY DAYS! The night Jobber was on football hardest away days. Brilliant stuff. Now these are away days. fook 5000 going the ones with less than 600 are the sex.
ASH17LCFC Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Yep, was there aswell. What made it better was the fact I was 15/16 and had £1 on the 2-2 @ 14/1 and it came in. HAPPY DAYS! Well done sir, i was only 15 at the time aswell but would not miss night games for anything. Then my mate got a bird and a kid and left me with no one to go with Still that season i went everywhere. At Watford what made your bet even sweeter was i think we were 2-0 down and then pulled it back to 2-2. Twas a nice night.
ASH17LCFC Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Stoke away stick out aswell, Tuesday night and we just beat Charlton in the F.A Cup and took 4000 and only took about 800 to stoke and our end nearly ended up in a riot after a big row about Jordan Stewart. Lost 3-2 that night.

Oh yeah between a young lad and an older bloke. I know that young lad now. Chants off get him off coming from the away end
l444ry Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Seems to me that Mandaric is referring to the fact that Leicester have the fourth highest home attendance in the Championship despite the appalling league position, and that this statement has been misrepresented by the "superior" supporters brigade. This club has supporters who were following this club up and down the country when many of the writers on here were in nappies and it's quite laughable reading this definition of a "superior" supporter.

This club has supporters who were following this club up and down the country when many of the writers on here were in nappies and it's quite laughable reading this definition of a "superior" supporter. Not one person has said that they are a "superior" supporter than anyone else. What's mainly been said, is people can come out of the woodworks, for Forest, Villa, Chelsea and Cov, but where are they for the other away games?
l444ry Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 It really pisses me off that we can sell 5000 for Coventry and get branded "great support"It's the nearest away trip of the season for crying out loud. Where's the praise for the people that went Plymouth (complete mission), Burnley, Preston, (weeknights before Christmas) Hull (Shit performance, before Christmas) etc? We only nearly sold out Norwich, because we played well and beat Cov. Majority of the people that went to Blackpool only went " because it was Blackpool and you could go for the weekend" Where was the recognition, for watching a shit first half, standing up, with the wind blowing in your face, in a stand that has no roof? No offence Bert but your earlier post makes my point.
Bert Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 No offence Bert but your earlier post makes my point. None taken, but we'll just have to agree to disagree here. Oh, and bravo for being an old git, and being born before some of us.
C-man Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 It is ludicrous to suggest we've had fantastic away support. When we sell out Southampton on a tuesday night, we could claim to have 'astonishing' support. However, our home attendances are quite impressive in my opinion. For a team that has had 4 terrible seasons at home, an average attendance of 23,000 is pretty good. It is the 4th highest in the division and for a team in 19th place, that is useful.
accessory Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Including our last Premiership season, when we only won three home games, this is our 5th terrible season at home..
ozleicester Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 ahhh stop your fcuking whinging!! 1) think yourself lucky you can go see YOUR team play every week 2) do you go along to get thanked by the chairman? 3) sure there wouldve been some crap games, but im sure youve had many moments to remain with you forever. Get to the game, sing, shout and jump about. Dance smile and sing when youre walking home from a winning game. Bitch moan and swear on your way home from a losing game. But remember in a few days, youve got the chance to do it again. City till i die!

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I rather live in OZ then Leicester though You're a Aussie i pity you Change of heart i like it
Raj Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Call that a rant? :laugh:I knew someone would come out with that line sooner or later. Very predictable. How about he praises us at a time when we really need it and we've took minimal fans to shit holes when we've been playing shit? And i bet you thought it was gonna be me eh??? Wouldnt you think it would make us abit of a laughing stock if the Chairman- "Praises Citys fans for 800 who went to Hull (Or whatever it was!)? If that was on Sky Sports other clubs fans would piss themselves laughing. Obviuosly its easy for people to goto Cov,hence there are so many going, but i agree some of these lot should goto some of the less 'prestigous' away games too. Remember all them Cov fans who went man utd in the cup!...Where are all of them now??? However if a handful out of these DO start going regularly, surely thats a good thing innit? But MM also (rightly so too) thinks that 22,000+ at The Walkers to watch shite for the last 4 years is commendable. It is. IM not sure about statistics but i bet there arent alot who have averaged more than us over that period in what has been total garbage and our club being a laughing stock in football. Im sure many an older ST holder has thought about not renewing due to the goings on at our club. Again,i wanna emphasis that its the hardcore of fans who go week in week out, year after year,no matter the results who are the backbone of any football club,so well done to you all. Its these fans who follow any club regurarly who pass this commitment onto future generations which keeps the lifeline in football. P.S Before anyone asks NO i am not going to Cov. HOws that for a boring load of shite so early in the morning!
MC Prussian Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I'd prefer it if the club would be straightforward for once and stop making things up... Propaganda.
Raj Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I'd prefer it if the club would be straightforward for once and stop making things up...Propaganda. Such as....
Babylon Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Yes, that's all well and good. But the majority of the people going to this match are the fans that have jumped on after we've won a match, thinking we're out the shit and we're gonna start winning again. While you are ranting away... have you stopped to consider this may be a general thanking and not just about Cov. He doesn't start with the Cov bit, he thanks everyone and goes on to mention the Cov game later on. It may have something to do with the good attendance last Saturday also!! People have been waiting to have a moan all week, seems we are now searching high and low for something to disagree with.
Raj Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Must admit, sometimes MM cant win can he? Praises the supporters= he gets hammered. Doesnt praise them= he gets hammered. Appoints managers=Gets hammered sacks em=Gets hammered Gives money to managers(to buy crap players)=Gets hammered Doesnt pay 3million for Fulop=Gets hammered If he had paid 3million for Fulop=He would have got hammered!!! I love lester folk!

Raj Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Spot on!Poor old Milan, he's trying everything for us to start asking him to wave at us at home games again. Dont think he gives a fcuk if anyone asks him to start waving at them to be honest pal.
lcfc_jme Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I've been to Accrington, Southampton, Charlton and Blackpool this season along with Forest, Villa and Chelsea, as well as going many places including Ipswich, Preston and fcking Plymouth last season. What section do I fall into?? I want to know who's side I'm aligned with
James. Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 People have been waiting to have a moan all week, seems we are now searching high and low for something to disagree with. Absolutely. I have a lot of respect for those of you that travel far and wide to go to matches. You really are a major part of the lifeblood of the club. BUT you should be careful not to moan about stuff like this at every available opportunity. This is a perfectly reasonable statement from Mandaric. As Raj says he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. When you look at our average attendances compared to the rest of the league and also when I think about my own experiences of home and away games our support is actually pretty decent. Not amazing, but who the f**k are we comparing oursleves to? Reality is a pretty difficult concept for a lot of Leicester fans. Whether it be expectations on the pitch or off it.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I certainly dont go to the games just to get thanked by the chairman.... I go because it is the club i love!! Win, lose or draw.... I cant sit here and say i go to every away game because i dont, i make what i can as work restricts me a lot... I respect the fans that do travel away games week in week out... But dont moan about everybody else, if you want to be praised then go down to the club and ask for a medal or something!! Think yourself lucky( sometimes ) when you can go to these games all the time, i know i wish i could!!
