cecchini Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I actually think that the level of support and attendance at games is very good, given that we never used to be able to fill Filbo when we were in the old second divison (or first).
DB11 Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 The amount of people that go to games is good but the support is shit. You never hear anyone singing or creating an atmosphere.
Tommeh Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 The numbers we still get at home are brilliant despite many terrible seasons but for a club with our home attendances we should never take less than 1000 away but yet we do. when we win at home there are some decent atmospheres and lets be honest that doesnt happen enough. People around the ground can speak for themselves but in L1 there is always decent support and its very rarely silent. Our supporters certainly have the ability to be great, just take preston, Barnsley, Fulham, WBA last season and Forest, Palace, Accrington, Chelsea, Colchester and Burnley this season. It just doesnt happen enough.

lee7 Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 The amount of people that attend home games is good considering we have been crap at home for a lot of this season but i don't think the support is as good as can be expected. The support has been really good some games for example forest, chelsea, colchester this season and preston, barnsley and birmingham last season but it isn't like that all the time.
Calum McDermott Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 When the crowwd goes ohhhh! or Arghh! When the players make a bad pass really pisses me off.
ASH17LCFC Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 When the crowwd goes ohhhh! or Arghh! When the players make a bad pass really pisses me off. Yea should shout ... well done son keep trying. No wonder players come here for 1 last pay day when fans won't dare slag them off.
TrickyTrev Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Terrible atmosphere at home but I have been pleasently suprised by the number of people who have kept on going despite 4 years of turgid football.
Floating Fox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Numbers are good, but the support is poor. To put it simply.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 It's not quality nor is it shockingly bad, its somewhere in between like a lot of other clubs.
Father Ted Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I think that our attendance is fantastic but our fans are not. People go on about how England are the typical hooligans - get real! For an English club - Yes, as an international club - No. You can go anywhere else in the world and it would be better than here. Even El Salvador where they start wars if they lose a game!
FilboFox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I'd say we were good fans... not fantastic... And as for how good we can be, I'm sure that we could be A LOT better than what we are currently so no... I don't think we are at our best.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 a) No b) No Even when we win 4-0 at home, people phone in BBC RL moaning we were lucky! ****tards. Some of the idiots who sit around me moan when the first pass goes astray after just 2 minutes. A lot of the home fans make me sick. I moved seat against Cardiff cus I got my brother a free ticket so we sat in the A & L stand...fckuing quiet wasn't the word! I'm sure people will say it's a person's prerogative to sing etc (which I can't argue against), but it was still frigging super quiet. I prefer the City fans that go away games tbh.
Maybes Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Right we get good home attendances so in that manor we had a very good support. Vocally our support is poor IMO.
act smiley Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 At home its quantity over quality, aways are quality over quantity, so its pretty average overall.
Matt Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Numbers wise our support is awesome, We have on average between 21,000 - 24,000 every home game, and the way we have been playing and our posistion that figure is amazing, If we were near the top of this league we'd be getting almost sell outs i'm sure. Away support, not bad, we don't seem to travel in large numbers but we certainly not lacking in away support, It's abit of a hypocritical opinion, because I myself don't go to that many away matches, but do find the "fair-weather" away fan tag abit offensive, Yes I went Villa, Yes I went Chelsea, and yes i'm going Coventry, but I have also been Crystal Palace and Charlton, the reason i'm going Coventry is because it's local and I know we are near the bottom, but I guarentee of we were rock bottom and didn't have the 4-0 win last week 5,000 fans wouldn't be going Coventry on Saturday, I'd definetly still be going though. As I said before attendence wise i'd go as far as saying we're near top of the league, Vocal wise we're poor, but this is just an arguement and discussion we go round and round in, and also as said before if everyone who moaned about the lack of atmosphere and noise made some noise, I don't think there'd be a problem, but everyone is waiting for someone else to make some noise and atmosphere first and then follow on from them.
MC Prussian Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Tough call. I still think it's a miracle we have so many faithful supporters that show up on a weekly basis, despite some really, really bad runs in the past few years. So that is impressive, indeed. If only we could create more atmosphere at the Walkers, that'd help a lot, but we're all so quiet. Away support is awesome, though. Good chants, wit, fun and some action... Couldn't ask for more.
Staf Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I think are home attendance are good but the vocal support isnt amazing away from home the fans try and create noise but alot of the time there is not enough of us there overall i fell our support is alright we do get behind our team and for the positon we are in we get brilliant attendances.
clazkel Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I think the attendance at the Walkers is excellent, especially because of some of the performances we have seen there, fans still come back. However you would expect the atmosphere to be better than it is as most games there are over 23,000 people. I think the fans should try and get behind the team more and lift the team rather than waiting for the team to lift the fans. I miss the songs that used to be sang in the kop, Filbert Street had a great atmosphere, so much better than the Walkers, shame they knocked it down!
Uncle Albert Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 The home attendence is good for what has been happening this season, and taking 6.500 fans to Cov says it all really.
Floating Fox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 The home attendence is good for what has been happening this season, and taking 6.500 fans to Cov says it all really. Where did that one come from
