Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Almost exactly what i wrote - thank god im not the only one You're not the only 2! See below my post in the Post Match comments... Oh, and Futter agreed - thats 4! :nono: Stupid people calling for managers head People saying getting "Coleman" in People on Radio Leicester saying, "We should get rid of Ollie and get Dowie" (oh - the same Dowie who took Cov below City and now they got rid of him, then they beat us? ) People saying Plymouth 5th now that Ollie is no longer the manager - that's roughly where they were when he left!!! We will lose MORE games like this this season, mark my words. We will win more games like we did against Norwich. We will not go down because we CAN play like we did against Norwich and we will probably do it often enough PLUS there are (believe it or not) WORSE teams than City in this league. We will not go on some great winning run any time soon. Frustrating, isn't it?
Thracian Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Almost exactly what i wrote - thank god im not the only one I wouldn't want anyone coming here from outside. I'd want Beaglehole/Stowell/Taggart. People who know the club and the players and who don't appear to have alienated anyone.
FleckneyFox Posted 23 February 2008 Author Posted 23 February 2008 To be honest i wouldnt take many managers atm only Billy Davies sticks out in my mind
BigGibbo Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I wouldn't want anyone coming here from outside. I'd want Beaglehole/Stowell/Taggart. People who know the club and the players and who don't appear to have alienated anyone. But the whole insides completely rotting & f@cked we need a revamp & Beaglehole etc are more valuable to us improving the academy players!

People who know the club and the players and who don't appear to have alienated anyone. I agree to be honest. If it comes to us needing another new manager, which I hope it doesn't, then I would promote from within. People point to Rob Kelly to dispute this. In my opinion the bloke did a similar job with less talented players than his successors.
Jimmy Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I don't think Ollie is helping constantly banging on about how we cant come back from a goal down or get back to back win, what is he doing to build up their confidence & mental strength? he's been here for a good few months now and I think he's mentioned it in almost every interview, how is that helping the players? I wouldn't want anyone coming here from outside. I'd want Beaglehole/Stowell/Taggart. People who know the club and the players and who don't appear to have alienated anyone. That same combination were awful in 2 spells in caretaker charge
Rich Fox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 The club let the fans down badly today. The big question is are any of ollys signings any better than the players who were here before, he will only stay if the players he has bought in start to produce lachko and bori seem poor now after high hopes and the goalie looks shaky to me.

Sorry Thracian but was it not you who slated Taggart after one particular game (Burnley? ) telling him to go back to Ireland and showing your toal disgust? I couldn't find the quote but I know it's out there somewhere...
CovFox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I would like to know, am I the only fan who is becoming increasingly concerned about the man who is in charge of our football club? I am not talking about the manager!

TBH i reckon only Howard and Oakley have slightly improved us and apparently Ollie didnt know to much about the Oakley deal until it was close to completion. Alnwick is better than Hendo but we shouldve tried to take Fulop back on loan hes now No. 2 at Stoke because he was on bench for them today
Daggers Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I wouldn't want anyone coming here from outside. I'd want Beaglehole/Stowell/Taggart. People who know the club and the players and who don't appear to have alienated anyone. You must be the same idiot that wrote the following, yes? I hope they have the courage to fook off from football tomorrow morning. I hope they are never seen again. Gerry Taggart - ex-Leicester City. I used to celebrate the name. But that was a sodding disgrace.Indefensible. Go home to Ireland and take Burrows with you. No team of mine could ever play that badly, could ever insult the name of Leicester City so readily nor could ever make a mockery of the word football with such emphasis. You were a good footballer Gerry. 100% despite your limitations. I loved you. Unlike Burrows I counted you as Leicester City. As family. But today you dragged my club through mud. I will never, ever, forgive you for that. Or that arsehole who stood by your side. Sod off. Get a job at Woolworths. I really don't care. It wasn't losing that mattered. It was the way we lost. We put two fingers up to ourselves, our traditions, at the word football and at our fans. I could never get your job. But I could never, ever preside over that sort of shit.
lildave3 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 we should of just paid the £3M Wtf are you talking about now?
Jimmy Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Wtf are you talking about now? can you not read English Dave, I said we should of paid the £3M to sign Fulop, that isn't a knock at Alnwick who has done very well, just simply my belief that Fulop would be a steal at £3M once he'd been here a year or 2
LeeCovFox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 You must be the same idiot that wrote the following, yes? Oops
Thracian Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 But the whole insides completely rotting & f@cked we need a revamp & Beaglehole etc are more valuable to us improving the academy players! That's a good point but not so good if the Academy players have no-one at the top with any demonstrable faith in them and therefore they fail to make sustained impact in the first team, mostly through not being given proper chance. I say "no demonstrable faith" cos I've seen no great leaps forward with the change of emphasis from youth to experience. In fact we've had three wins in 10 games since January 1 and won effectively a point a game if you ignore one of them being a cup match. Relegation statistics.

At no point did you mention what we 'should of ()' spent the money on in that post. And I wish people would stop going on about ****ing Fulop.

LeeCovFox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Leicester boss Ian Holloway: "I felt the game was ruined by one of the maddest decisions I have ever seen. "I have seen their centre-forward go through. I have seen my centre-half fouled, and then the referee made a decision no-one could understand. "I am gob-smacked. It has ruined my weekend, but I will be okay on Monday." Yes Ollie, it was a bad decision. But for fook's sake, don't blame that for the defeat. I saw the game just as you did. We were not good enough. Simple as that.

And I wish people would stop going on about ****ing Fulop. Amen to that. I also wish people would stop calling for Matty Fryatt to come on as well when we've gone more than 45 minutes without a goal!!
Daggers Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I tell you what, that Martin Fulpops inspired confidence in the back four - he would not just have saved that penalty...he'd have dribbled it upfield and scored such a goal it would automatically have counted as a hatrick.
lildave3 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 you quoted me saying "we should of just paid the £3M" which was in direct response to the post above my own, please don't start lecturing me on staying on topic as you go off topic enough yourself Pffft, I never go off topic. As an aside though, I have just discovered I like Victoria Slices.

Its gems of information like that which means that LD3 is entitled to go off topic! We learn a whole new insight into his life! Before tonight I never would have pictured him as a Victoria Slice type of guy! More of an Oaty Flapjack!
Daggers Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 As an aside though, I have just discovered I like Victoria Slices. I never knew how good pizza and gin went together until almost now.
