The Future of Ollie

I never knew how good pizza and gin went together until almost now.

Maryland cookies, a mars bar, Victoria slices and some Becks also go together quite well.

Curse me living too far away from Dominos.

Sorry Thracian but was it not you who slated Taggart after one particular game (Burnley?) telling him to go back to Ireland and showing your toal disgust?

I couldn't find the quote but I know it's out there somewhere...

It was mentioned and I answered it.

Football is an emotional game and Taggart, given a great opportunity, let himself down.

My reaction at the time was exactly that.

Beaglehole did the same in another match. As a natural attacker he suddenly went all defensive.

In the end you forgive and forget just the same as with players.

Take Fryatt. Overall he's a disappointment but I'd praise him roundly if he scored a hat-trick next week.

I would like to know, am I the only fan who is becoming increasingly concerned about the man who is in charge of our football club? I am not talking about the manager!

I've always been concerned about him - but was in a minority of not many more than two from memory.

My thoughts is that we stick with him.

Leicester fans are very impatient now, and need to realise we are no more than a average, bottom half the table championship club.

Ollie needs time, and to sack him at any point of this season would be ludicrous.

Just becasue Leicester City lost an M69 derby in poor fashion, doesn't mean that we should start seeing posts that are calling for his head. All this talk just does my head in, can't we all just get behind him instead of picking little tiny flaws in his system. OK, the boys are still not getting the back-to-back wins they so desparately need, but we are so much better than before Ollie turned up. I'm keeping the faith, no matter what, those of you who are calling for Ollie's sacking should keep the faith as well. :@:banghead:

I think even if we go down that we should stick with ollie in charge. No point in changing the manager again

cant agree more - who would come here - Gazza is just about mad enough !

Have you thought of what the implications are if we go down, the club would possibly be in bigger financial shit than we were some years ago and i also think if we do get relegated MM will get rid and cut his loses.

Make no mistake this man is a very ruthless business man and the position the club are in at the moment was definatly was not on his blueprint.I also beleive he does regret giving holloway a 3 half year deal but my money is on him going if he does not win the next 3 games. :scarf:

As long as it does not look like we are going to get relegated, there is no point in a new manager starting, So. Ollie will be here until the end of the season.

Then we will have a new manager, lets hope it is a real one

But what IF sacking or keeping him is the difference between League 1 and staying in this division next season?

Any suggestions?

I'll probably hang onto him, to see why he does in the Summer transfer window. Who knows? He could gte another Ebanks-Blake or another Hamolsi... :dunno:

But these are Ollie's players. It was the rest he effectively got shut of or exiled.

Seems to me he's quickly conjured up a shed load of problems.

He's called the previous players and picked instead his Chosen Men. Pity they have such shortcomings.

Indeed they've shown no consistent signs of rescuing the situation, especially on their travels.

And now you have to wonder if they ousted ones will be desperate to try to change things bearing in mind what has happened.

Personally I'd doubt it. In fact if I were some of them I think I'd sooner see the back of him.

Sorry but I just don't get this "chosen men" stuff you keep spouting off.

Who are they?

Mccauley, kisbnorbo, Clemence or perhaps Oakley (who you thought was a decent signing) or perhaps Howard who has at least scored 3 goals or perhaps Dj who you want to play but in all honesty looks disinterested most of the time and was well overpriced at 500k let alone what we paid for him or maybe Hume. This is the spine of our team.

They have played the most games of late (except DJ) so they must be the chosen men but who would you play instead. I challenge you to puit out a team from players currently available (ie not injured or on loan)without any of those players in it that would be any better than the one with them.

We have to look at the whole of Ollies tenure now, not just kneejerk reactions after this defeat.

The fact is he has had 20 games in charge, your telling me 20 games isn't long enough to get things right and get some consistency?

20 games is 5 times more games than he who should not be named got.

20 games is enough time to make a clear judgement based on the results.

He has spent millions, got rid of players, it has been HIS team for ages now.

10 defeats 5 wins 5 draws in 20 just isn't good enough.

Thats a 25% win ratio, i can't remember exactly but Dowie was sacked with just over 40% win ratio.

20 games is long enough to get things right, we haven't got any better if not got worse since Ollie got here.

If this continues, and we win 3, draw 3, lose 6 of the final 12 games we will finish with 49 points.

Enough to survive in the last 2 seasons BUT it's a lot closer this season, and the teams in the drop zone are getting results.

There isn't 1 team totally out of it like there usually is, any of the bottom teams could easily survive.

Are things going to improve if we keep Ollie? I don't think so.

As long as we don't drop into that relegation zone keep him. If we drop into the zone, sack him.

We still have a 3 point cushion, but teams just above and below us have 1 or 2 games in hand.

he does seem a joker, tactics are questionable too

the frustrating thing is, when he gets it right (cov, norwich) we look good, but the rest of the time... it's an enigma

I just fear as soon as we drop into that zone we may not get out of it.

I feel the Preston match will either save, or lose Ollies job.

What a HUGE game that could turn out to be now.

I can only see us getting a point at best in Cardiff and if we lose against Preston, Ollie will have to go for me.

I can't see us getting much from the 3 games after that, high flyers Bristol City at home, West Brom away, and Southampton away. Although we have beat BC before, those 3 could easily be defeats.

Seriously, if we lose that Preston match, we may only get 0-3 points in the next 5 games which would almost certainly put us in the drop zone, with Sheff Wed, Preston, Colchester games in hand.

Thank you - finally you admit that these continual essays we endure are nothing more than emotive tosh. Emotive, booze fuelled junk.

Now might be an appropriate time to start reigning it in considering you have made such grand strides forward.

I hope they have the courage to fook off from football tomorrow morning. I hope they are never seen again. Gerry Taggart - ex-Leicester City. I used to celebrate the name. But that was a sodding disgrace.

Indefensible. Go home to Ireland and take Burrows with you. No team of mine could ever play that badly, could ever insult the name of Leicester City so readily nor could ever make a mockery of the word football with such emphasis.

You were a good footballer Gerry. 100% despite your limitations. I loved you.

Unlike Burrows I counted you as Leicester City. As family. But today you dragged my club through mud. I will never, ever, forgive you for that. Or that arsehole who stood by your side.

Sod off. Get a job at Woolworths. I really don't care. It wasn't losing that mattered. It was the way we lost. We put two fingers up to ourselves, our traditions, at the word football and at our fans.

I could never get your job. But I could never, ever preside over that sort of shit.

Apologies in advance for my language -

ben-ji-man92 - fook off mate.

There are just too many twats who call for the manager's head when we lose.

It is bad in the game in general but especially so with us.

Just stop it, it isn't funny anymore.

For one, Weso in for Clemence. And once and for all take the captains role off him and give it to someone else.

careful you'll get abuse for daring to question Clemence

If he were doing an alright job and leading the team by a bit of commitment then I'd cop it from him. But he's not. And as for the posters on here well a week ago a lot thought we'd turned the corner and they were wrong. So they can have their expert opinion. For me Ollie's time is nearly up for an impatient Mandaric.

Holloway has messed up time after time. It's obvious that this job is too big for him.

The problem is, could we trust Mandaric to bring in anyone better?

I can't see how you can come to that assumption already, he did well at Plymouth with only limited resouces.

He needs time.

Time after time.. Ok then in his long time at the club what's he messed up? In the grand scheme of things.. During hsi long tenure at the club?

But we lost a game. That means the manager must be sacked surely?
