purpleronnie Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I'm eating humble pie I thought chelsea would walk it, having a bad day, I did get scotland right though.
lookwhaticando Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Barnsley for the cup. It's only right and proper. Can't stand the thought of Boro or Portsmouth winning it.
Stevosevic Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Anyone else think Mandaric will go along to support Portsmouth?
Matt Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Fuking get in! On Wednesday morning the Chelsea fan I know gave me so much shit I was very close to giving him a smack he got me biting so much...Time for a little revenge?! Who thinks the F.A Cup will get less coverage for this season e.t.c now the top 4 have been knocked out, For me it makes it more interesting, hopefully it does for alot of people, No doubt about it will get coverage because its the world best cup competition but without the top 4 who's thinking for a lot of people (Not us "real" supporters ) will have lost intrest, and therefore less TV coverage (Such as on SSN or something?)
DB11 Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Ronaldo should have had a penalty in the Pompey game. I thought Baros dived a bit too... he made sure his leg made contact and then was theatrical in the way he went down.

Ronaldo and utd in general have had plenty of penalties that never were in the past and sendings off what goes around comes around. thought Querez or whatever his name is was well out of order with what he said about Martin Taylor and should be charged at the very least by the FA
davieG Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I suppose it will now be viewed as the Fook All Cup ala the Worthless Cup when we won what was then the Worthington Cup!
Matt Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Going back to the point I made about media such as SSN, e.t.c, not reporting as much on the F.A Cup anymore this season, I was watching it last night and they reporting on the games because really they have to at the end of the day but they were certainly "papering over the cracks" and not really giving a fully deserved report or praise to Barnsley imparticular.
Uncle Albert Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I can't bare Boro getting to Wemberlee. Not just them, Cardiff WBA Portsomouth the lot of them actyually Barnsley aren't that bad. What does it say about English football when the best English teams beat AC and Inter Milan, Lyon and Olympiakos, and then they can't beat Barnsley who we beat comfortabley. Wembley isnt living upto much is it? The first FA cup was dog, this one is going to be dog. England play dog at Wembley. 2 decent matches there the Carling Cup final and the Conference Play Offs with Morcambe i think not sure if it was Morcambe.

Even we beat Barsnleh No disrespect to Barnsley, more of a dig at us saying "even we".

Yeah, just because the bigger teams are out, the final is going to be shit.

So your saying you'd rather see one of the big four in the final every year? Boooooring. This FA cup has been the best (Excluding LCFC) I can remember.

Because the big 4 are not going to be there to play 1 upfront and it finish 1-0 after extra time? I think this years final could be brilliant end to end entertainment with both teams going for it!! every final involving the big 4 is dog as you might say, last good one was West Ham Vs Liverpool when West Ham had a bloody good go at them imo any team left in it can win it I don't expect it to be 1-0 could be pretty high scoring for a change.
Simi Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Anyone who thinks an FA Cup final is better contested between the top four must be forgetting the sort of matches these lot produce. Chelsea 1-0 Man UTD. That was last years cup final. It was absolutely shit, and I was there.
Uncle Albert Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Yes the better FA Cup finals are better when one of the better teams are in the finals. Liverpool United Chelsea and Arsenal have won it every year since Everton in 1995 and near enough all of them have been brilliant finals except last years rubbish. Like Liverpool West Ham because the under dogs went after them, but this years rubbish will just be like United and Chelsea's rubbish. Portsmouth and Middlesbrough who both play with 5 in midfield every week. What a thrilling final we could have Portsmouth v Middlesbrough. I cant wait.
purpleronnie Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Dare I say I dont think there will be any shocks today.

Who can forget the classic 2005 Final where Arsenal defended like mad for 120 minutes, and the won the Cup on penalties. Or Perhaps you're refering to the Final the year before? 2004? That thrillingly one sided game between Man U and Millwall. That was a wonderful game. Truely Amazing. No? is it the 2003 Final you're refering to? Where Arsenal scraped past Southampton 1-0, in a game with a mind numbing lack of action? I'd go on, but looking back since the Finals since 1995, I'd say that the Liverpool - West Ham and the Liverpool - Arsenal Final are the only two you could perhaps remotely descibe as good matches. The Man U Liverpool - Final of 96? Chelsea - Boro? Two successive Finals were Newcastle didn't turn up? They've all been pretty poor.
Tilley Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Boro to beat Cardiff. WBA to beat BR. Pompey Boro semi final. Barnsley WBA semi final. Pompey WBA final. Pompey win. My predictions anyway. Oh & i had a tenner on pompey to win the fa cup in Jan

I think it's safe to say that majority of finals since 1995 have been nothing short of appalling you forgot to mention the brilliance of Chelsea beating Villa 1-0
FleckneyFox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 fookin hell. This is one of the best FA cups in years
