Basingstoke Fox Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Reading away it was my first ever game (other than East Bengal friendly ) and all my mate were texting me after reading went 1 up the fans were incredible and then to get that last minute goal was one of the best feelings ever!! If we beat Chelsea then it would be that, though i think Fulham aways atmosphere was better because we literally sung the WHOLE MATCH!! By the way since the reading game ive been to at least 20 City games and the only one we won was Cov at home....Are we crap because im bad luck?
Ashley Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Chelsea 4-3 Nottingham Forest 3-2 Charlton 2-1 (Fa cup, dion scoring a header last minute) And many more.
escape2victory Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Aston Villa in the 96/97 season i think when we won 3-1. Also the 4-4 against Tottenham in the 03/04 season. Me and a mate were a bit gutted at spending all that money on tickets and train when they moved it to Sky, but the game more than made up for it ! 3-1 down with 10 men, and we came roaring back to lead 4-3, but then somewhat indicative of that season, we conceded a late goal
Sparky Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Grimsby w2-1 ( izzet overhead kick , missed our train so got b and b and went out on the pis5 , cracking day/night) Villa w 2-0 (2001 ish) Blackburn w 4-2 ( last day of famous 97 season , pissed all over them , even Stuart Wilson scored ) More recent times would include Charlton fa cup win , Chelsea and Fulham
dandannieldanok Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Chelsea & Villa were amazing this year I thought the Villa occasion was a little bit flat to be honest, although everybody singing "shit on the villa" as we spilled out of the stand was quality.
Shrenchel Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 The Wembley trips if they count. Palace was the best. Literally didn't stop singing all day. Me and my dad walked to the ground from fooking miles away, we were singing all the way, just us at first and then as we got nearer more and more fans were joining in and walking with us. When we got to the ground there must've been 200 odd of us, was fooking great. Even when we got off the train at Bristol there were a few others that had been and we got chucked outta temple meads for jumping around singing city songs. Hope we get there again one day. Although everyone I know that's been to new Wembley has said it's absolute shit, so I'd probably be bitterly dissapointed.

I'm guessing you're friends have been to England games, because the people who I knew that went to them said it was crap. However I've been to a non-football event there and the noise reverberates around excellently so I'm sure if thousands of city fans sang it'd be pretty special. Although I never went to the Old Wembley so not much to compare to.

Although I never went to the Old Wembley so not much to compare to. Nah I know a few people that have been. FA Cup final, League Two play-off, League One play-off, Johnstones Paint Tin thingy. All four said it was absolutely nothing compared to the old ground. Just seems like another big plastic bowl and it's almost impossible to get any sort of atmosphere going is what they said. Not too mention the ridiculous prices and being so far away from the pitch.
Joe. Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Preston last season was something special. Complete madness after we'd scored But there's also been some fantastic cup nights, Fulham, Forest and Chelsea all in the last two seasons.
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Derby away. 4-0 up in 15 minutes. Quality. We even played football back then...
Jon25747 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Has to be Fulham last year and chelsea this.......for the simple fact i have never left an away ground so buzzing at a defeat!
AmericanScott Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Forest away this season was amazing. Bare in mind i've only ever been to two away games
DB11 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Forest away this season was amazing.Bare in mind i've only ever been to two away games The two Forest ones?
Phube Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Hmmmm it's either 2-0 win at Liverpool, or 0-0 draw at Norwich....
Ricosas Adianski Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 1-2 Chalrton in FA cup. Dion Stopped being a statue on that day 0-1 Blackburn FA cup shame bout the match especially as the goal came in the 83rd minute or something This Season Forest
Jack Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 The 2nd Forest game and our trip to Stamford Bridge this year were magical.
colbo68 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Has to be Fulham last year and chelsea this.......for the simple fact i have never left an away ground so buzzing at a defeat! without a doubt it has to be the Blackburn game at the old Ewood when Bobby Mimms hacked a kick straight at the feet of Rooster......right in front of us lot (our stand was heaving!!!!!)..........and Rooster just had to run the ball in..... Did anyone hear the radio report of the game? leicester city.......ticker tape and all.....the fans favourite rooster russell... serendepity......... (the commentator was that bloke who used to do 'Its a knockout - Stuart Hall I think)
Leicester Rule! Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 The atmosphere at the new Wembley is not as good I don't think, however it depends where you sit. I think its what you would expect; like going from Filbert Street to Walkers etc. The upper tier is a poor atmopshere, whilst the lower tier is much better. The singing section at Wembley for England games is a good atmosphere though.
colbo68 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Agree with Blackburn away a few years ago. Rooster Rooster!! what a day it was brenda - the atmosphere was brill
weggy1976 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Gotta be 2-1 Derby at the baseball ground just before Xmas ...approx 16 years ago. The days of "battles" in a hostile atmosphere. Great day abusing Arthur Cox. Then the 0-4 - at Pride Park, all headers and in 1st 15 mins. Superb.
