Phube Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Just ordered a Panasonic 37" Plasma!!! And ordered Sky HD.... I'm now poor!!!
Matt Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Got the HD TV but not Sky HD which I want. But whats this i've been hearing about HD being 'old news' and 'Blue-Ray' being the hot topic? I though Blue-Ray was just DVD quality and stuff? Don't tell me HD is a big con that was built up to be the next big thing it TV technology and now fell flat on it's face?

In simple terms, Blu-ray is to HD as DVD is to normal telly.

joely22 Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 I have Sky HD and a HD TV, is class. Especially for the footy. Love picking out the individual blades of grass
ASH17LCFC Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 We got a 50 inch HD plasma with Sky HD but i think it looks the same. Most of the time i watch football on skysports 1 instead of HD 1 because i can't tell.

Matt Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Just to enquire about Sky HD, Am I right in thinking its about £300 for the HD Box and then another £10 extra on your monthly subscription? Alot of money for what 5/6 Channels to view as HD? I do plan to get it but thinking i'll wait for more channels. And hopefully if I wait prices will drop, For the box at least.
ASH17LCFC Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Are you sure you're doing it right?? Yes because all our HD Sky channels work. I just don't see the big thing about it. HD that is.
FoxesFan100 Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Love my HD TV, i got 2 One for downstair and one in my room to play PS3  Its soo quality, i love HD, more detail and better colour, my advice get a SAMSUNG or a PIONEER

If you take their Phone package (which is Free??) you get the box for £199 + £60 installation. Then add £10 a month. Yes because all our HD Sky channels work. I just don't see the big thing about it. HD that is. Well, especially on a 50" TV, SD would look awful, therefore HD should look a lot better...
danny. Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 does the wii explode if you try and get it to do HD?
lavrentis Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 does the wii explode if you try and get it to do HD? No its actually quite good In HD
Phube Posted 22 March 2008 Author Posted 22 March 2008 does the wii explode if you try and get it to do HD? It does 480p!! You do know that Halo 3 isn't HD don't you!?!?
danny. Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 It does 480p!! You do know that Halo 3 isn't HD don't you!?!? Didn't know that, I played it in 1080i but I guess it was upscaling then? To be honest I'm so crap at FPS games I only lasted about 10 mins before dying all the time and turning it off!! Kingdom under fire and assasins creed look great in HD!
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 You can't go wrong with a Pioneer plasma. Pioneer do the best plasmas available. Fact. If you're wanting an LCD, go for a Philips or Panasonic. Can't go wrong with either of those. As for Sky HD, I would like it, but I don't think it's worth the price at the moment as there's not much available in HD. When the digital changeover occurs I might get it then. I guess it's down to preferences. If you want it, get it. Also, hold back on a Blu-ray player for a bit. Use your PS3 if you have one, the Blu-ray player in that is as good as any stand alone Blu-ray player out there. The only thing about Pioneer plasmas is that it's best to get a set of surround sound speakers. I know some sets dont even have speakers included. You could end up spending anything from £300 to over £2000 on sound alone.
Trumpet Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 You just need a 360 underneath it and you'll be away!

Like you said, just upscaled!!!
Master Fox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I'd love a huge HD tv, HD sky, and an Xbox. But it's all material things, right?
