Ultra Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 If Mandaric gets rid, we might just manage to stay above Cov. If he doesn't, we'll have to accept the consequences..
PAULCFC Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 Voted yes.Think the Sheff weds game's gonna be the real 6 pointer and you all know what we're like at home.
Tommeh Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 I think we'll go. Just gutted about Bournmouth going down from League 1, now that would be a class away, by the coast and they've got a great Aquarium. Opportunity missed there
BlueBlueFox Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 I vote 'No'. I think Sheff Wed will stay up and third relegation slot will between us, Southampton & Coventry. 1 in 3 chance of going down, 2 in 3 to stay up.
C-man Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I can see Barnsley being dragged into it aswell. Winning there for the second season running would be great. We'd need it. At least today has made every remaining game more interesting. Going to Sheff Utd, Barnsley and Stoke will be even more nerve racking now.
Flexx Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 We just can't seem to score at home atm. If you think really hard, can you imagine any sort of goal going in against Scunny? All i can imagine is a 25 yard screamer hitting the back of the net late on for Scunny. So yes i think we will go down, but heres hoping they can prove me wrong
FilboFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 If Mandaric gets rid, we might just manage to stay above Cov.If he doesn't, we'll have to accept the consequences.. I said no... and this post by Ultra is utter crap. You think that because Ollie is in charge we are going down? B0LLOCKS!!! He's already shown that he knows how to get the team winning... its just that our players, for some reason... can't quite seem to put it into practice when it comes to doing it on the big stage! OLLIE CANNOT PLAY THAT MATCHES FOR THEM!!! THE PLAYERS HAVE TO TAKE THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE RESPONSIBILITY!!! Ollie tells them what to do, in theory, it should work... He motivates them... we always start brightly and then WHAM... we let in a goal or we miss several chances and the confidence is gone. I'm surprised Ollie hasn't given up on the players... we are letting them get away with it and blaming Ollie which is ABSURD! WHY THE HELL CAN'T THE PLAYERS GET IT TOGETHER!!!!

I think you are pretty much spot on, on this mate.
lavrentis Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I don't know, one can only hope that we stay up but if we go down so be it. We are only as good as our last game and at the end of the day the table only shows us where we are because we deserve to be there and no excuses.

I agree... there are no excuses as this season, we haven't been good enough. Fact. I still think we can stay up but we have to blame the players more... they get away with crap performances as we take Ollie as the scapegoat for their inabilities. As I said, he can only do so much... its THEY that have to be held accountable for these SHIT performances as Ollie is, on paper, doing as much as he can do to make us win... the tactics seem pretty good and the players are playing the positions that they ought to... they just aren't delivering. OK, sometimes, the choice of player in certain places is odd... but then you don't always have the luxury of having all your players available...
Leicfox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Ive a really bad feeling with this years dog fight, and can see us dropping down. It will be a sad sad day.
l444ry Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I reckon we've had it this year. When things go wrong Holloway's only tactics seem to be repeated positional changes or mass substitutions. This is what you'd expect of a local village manager. How many of his "tactical" changes have ended up by improving anything? Sorry..........he's got to go.
Father Ted Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 It will go right down to the wire but it looks as though we are going down. People don't realise just how important our remaining home games are - if we win them I think we'll be safe, if we don't then its gonna be a big uphill struggle.

We might win them of course but I'd love to know WHY you think that. Nothing I've seem from the new Holloway team. Four goalless returns at home in the last five games hardly suggest anyone is going to be trembling at the thought of visiting The Walkers.

Well, if we can bury Colchester and S****horpe for good and then beat Sheff Weds then it's 9 points in the bag against what should be 'easy' opposition but knowing Leicester we lose against the poor and win against the good. If we don't win them then we are going to have to pick up points away from home which I really can't see us doing.

This is what you'd expect of a local village manager. How many of his "tactical" changes have ended up by improving anything? Sorry..........he's got to go. Another pointless and stupid post... His tactical changes are less to do with the need for tactical change, more to do with the need to change something simply because the team is playing so badly! Sometimes he takes off strikers and puts on new ones, that freshens up the front line... sometimes he takes of defenders to strengthen up front with more to attack... if you had your way, he be playing the same crappy team week in week out and leaving them to keep playing the same old crap!!!! Seriously, some of his changes haven't changed much but they aren't BAD decisions! Just because the players aren't bothered about playing, it doesn't mean that you can start blaming Ollie. I'm not trying to say he's done nothing wrong as some decisions are confusing, but, the players have to take FAR more responsibility than Ollie!!! Also, do you really think that anyone can credibly comment on what choices he makes? Are we on the training field with them? Are we there week in week out watching them train and making difficult decisions? NO WE AREN'T!!! Ollie's job is extremely difficult and is only made doubly hard by half-wits like you who think they know how to run a football club's team without knowing the in's and out's of what is going on when off the pitch! Did you really think that with this team, playing the way we have been playing, that we would end up anywhere other than in a relegation battle!?! OK, we play poor matches and look VERY poor at times, but its not down to Ollie to play the matches for the players! He sets out tactics for every different game as he sees fit and for the most part, I would agree with selections he makes. It is then the players that HAVE to take the responsibility for the rubbish we watch. Again, I'm not saying Ollie is 100% right all the time but the vast majority of the time, he sets out a team and tactics that OUGHT to be in the top 6... Ollie can only do so much and to be honest, after the debacle that was the start to the season, I'm surprised anyone has any confidence left in themselves at all!
Mikey Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 No. We will stay up by 2 points. Southampton to go down on Goal Difference.
Ibbyfox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 It will be very close (just like this vote) but I still can see us staying up by a point or two. Cov to go down. 3 home games v Sunny, Colchester and Sheff Wed the key - we have to win all of them.

We didn't start brightly or have several chances to miss yesterday, confidence seemed to be gone from the off ............. but saying that I do agree with you, ultimately the players are responsible. They have proven they can do it so why can they not do it more often?!!
davieG Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Ollie's record at home reads W4 D3 L5, the last time we won at home was against Norwich since then we've lost to Preston & Hull drawing with Bristol. How that gives people any sort of confidence that we can win 3 home games on the trot I simply fail to see! As away it's W3 D3 L8 and the only games we’ve won away were his first game and then by a fluky own goal and another against 10 men. Anyone relying on us beating Sheff U, Barnsley or Stoke had better hope that Lady Luck is sitting on Ollie’s shoulder because that’s the only way were likely to bag any points. Of course we'd could go out and bag the points but it's entirely wishful thinking to think that we will.

Although I would add that at times we have played very well - at home against Cov, Norwich and Bristol City, and away against Cardiff and West Brom - it's just very frustrating that we can't replicate that more consistently.

With respect, if you think that throwing insults around is a form of argument then how do you expect anyone to take you seriously? Incidentally, what is the current state of this poll? Are we all half-wits?
Daggers Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Are we all half-wits? Should be a poll in itself - but creating a list in this thread seems acceptable alternative. Daggers
Micky Ruddle Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 On a few times, i've said we'll go down, then changed my mind saying we won't. Now, i can't change my mind. We will go down. We do not deserve to go up. We do not deserve this stadium. We do not deserve the fans that come in numbers most weeks (22,000 +). And finally we do not deserve to be in this division, let alone the fact that people say we deserve to be in the Premiership.
