Dr The Singh Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 It's just typical of this forum, goalkeeper saves one shit penalty by guessing the right way, goalkeeper = hero, people claim they always rated Henderson and oh look they were right he saved a pen uhhh look how good he is wooowwweeyyyyyy never mind the fact that he plays like a League One keeper most of the time can't kick to save his life and is reposible for the odd game or 7 a season. It's why I can't be arsed with it anymore Every dog has it's day, Hendo did well at the orifice that day, but over the course of a season he would reek of a economy class travel loo!!!
Kilworthfox Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 Paul Henderson is not good enough to be our no1, he is in the same leauge as Stearman!
dandannieldanok Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 Paul Henderson is not good enough to be our no1, he is in the same leauge as Stearman! Stearman has arguably been our best player this season.
Fox in a Box Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 Could of stopped both of Hulls goals. Didn't. Very poor quality keeper, and He could have saved both of those shots, and didnt so manny your quite right. Henderson is not of a decent enough quality, and im fearful when hes in the onion bag.
Fox You Forest Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 This guy deserves large praise. He has come in at a critical stage in the season having hardly played and performed extremely well, under extreme pressure. He has made great stops in his games and saving a penalty Saturday just proves what a good keeper he is. All this talk of Fulop for £3m seems crazy when we can stick with Henderson. For me his kicking is just as good as Alnwicks, and his shot-stopping, as he has proved is still there despite not playing in the 1st team much this season. Give him a go at Number 1 next season, before we go splashing the cash, when we could sign a decent Midfielder or Striker instead. Certainly stick with him in goal ahead of Alnwick when he's back from injury. Well done Hendo If thats a comparison between he two you should be ashamed. He has looked better than normal recently but if Alnwick was fit i would pick him over Henderson all day long
Joe. Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Others disagreed with me, but I thought he had a mare for their second goal and definitely should have saved it.
DB11 Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 I still think he's a good goalie He was let down by the defence. Goal 1: Saved the original peno no one was following in. Goal 2: Not seen it but I guess the wall should have done something. Radio said he saw it late too... I still don't think any free kick howler can be as bad as Ian Walker's against Bolton a few years ago. Goal 3: Radio said bad defending. Kisnorbo was supposed to be marking Phillips??? (And before some clever dick says he was sent off I know that but it would have meant no one was marking him)

Paddy Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Shove your fooking radio up your arse. You don't know fook all. Henderson was shit. Sounds more like you dont know fook all How can you blame henderson, when the defence didnt show up today? He saved the pen, 2nd one took a deflection, and 3rd one was unmarked.....

dandannieldanok Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Should have done better with the second but if it was at the other end Ian Bennett wouldn't have saved it either, he spilt a couple of tame efforts that were straight down his throat.

I swear he pushed it into his goal?? 3rd was unmarked? Hahah, don't make me laugh. The ball was in the 6 yard box shouldn't that be clamied as keepers?
Unabomber Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Shove your fooking radio up your arse. You don't know fook all. Henderson was shit. Absolutely he was horrific.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 If we go down it will not be because of Paul Henderson, he's doing as good as can be expected, a free transfer from Bradford. If we'd spend a million or two on him then the criticism would be justified but we didn't.

A player is not judged on price tag just performances, and Hendo's are costing us points.
Tilley Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Does not matter how much is spent on a player.A player is not judged on price tag just performances, and Hendo's are costing us points. I don't think Henderson alone is costing us points. It's our mentality, our lack of vision & our inability to finish in the final third. We were dropping points with Fulop & Alnwick in goal. I personally do not think Henderson has played that bad since he has come in.
Thracian Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Sounds more like you dont know fook all How can you blame henderson, when the defence didnt show up today? He saved the pen, 2nd one took a deflection, and 3rd one was unmarked..... That was how I saw it too. Replays might suggest he was partly at fault for the second but I really think he was done by the slight deflection. As for the third goal it was very marginal as to whether he could have made it his ball with shit creek to race across but the fault really lay with the marking defender - Howard I think - who totally lost his runner.
Joe. Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 I think it's harsh to say he's costing us points to be honest. OK, I don't like the guy in goal for us and he didn't have a good game today but since he's covered for Alnwick he's done very well I think. Hopefully we'll find a replacement before next season and he'll be gone but for now I think he's doing OK.

I believe it matters how much is spent on a player, Henderson was brought in on a free from Bradford, people expect to much. I don't think Henderson alone is costing us points.
