......have been reported by Stoke to the football league for having more than 5 loan players in their match squad. Will probably only be fined but I have heard they've done it before so a possible points deduction? :dunno:

Cheap way to get out of trouble but if, and its a big if, they do get points deducted, its a MASSIVE load off our shoulders!

I'm sure Leeds got in trouble for something similar last season. I don't know what sort of punishment they received, if any at all.

I'm pretty sure they got away with a fine. But if Wednesday have done this before then surely they'll get points deducted.

Rumours flying about that it the result could be awarded as a 3-0 Stoke win, meaning Wednesday drop a further point back, which could be crucial given our healthy goal difference also. I'm guessing it will only be a fine though.

What was the original result?

Well that would be better than nothing but i think Wednesday will pull out of the relegation zone anyway, so them getting deducted 1 point wouldn't really do much, so not really bothered.

The loan player scored??

Oh :S, i can imagine how pissed they are lol. They could have been top of the table tonight.

I think there SHOULD be a points deduction of some sort when this happens but i don't think there will be.

Imagine if there point today sends us down ^_^

I believe the maximum punishment is loss of points gain in those fixtures

I was thinking this morning about the many loan signings made by Leicester this season and was actually wondering if they have come close to exceeding loan quota rules for a game or the season ... I'm glad this mess didn't happen to LCFC.

All these clubs building their sides on loan players - fook off you short-termist fookers. Die a slow painful death.

That means you, Tony Pulis, you C U N T.

Tony Pulis is the biggest ****ing culprit - He literally abuses the loan market and every time he sees a footballer over 6'0 available, he wets himself.

I feel sorry for Stoke on this one to be honest. They've obviously followed the rules on all their loan signings and would have played more at many points both this season and last if they'd been allowed to. That game should be awarded to Stoke.

I fail to see how they could possibly be allowed to keep any points gained. As for the points Stoke "lost" against an illegal side I cannot imagine what the League might do about that. I would have thought though that Stoke would have had a legal case against Wednesday for compensation in respect of their potential loss though we've got legal people on here who will be able to offer a much more professional opinion.

Years ago Middlesbrough could not field a side and that led to their relegation as they missed a fixture.

West Ham had to replay their game when they played a player who had played in the completion for another team, thus he was ineligible.
