Asha Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 This weeks Champions League games are looking very tastey especially Liverpool v Arsenal. This will definately be the one to watch.
sdb Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 anticipate a defensive, unambitious Man Utd for the 1st leg Arse - Livp should be fascinating Shalke to beat a currently abysmal Barca? Score draw in Turkey
Simi Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 I reckon Arsenal will look to win the game at the Emirates to be honest. No team, regardless of who they are would want to need to win a tie at Anfield on a European night. Will be very hostile for sure. If Liverpool can score an away goal then I fancy them. Not a fan of Chelsea, but English is English so I'll back them.

I can see them struggling away but at The Bridge they will be to strong. If we cant win there nobody can.

Joe. Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 Yeah must admit I do look forward to these Champions League fixtures a lot. Reckon Arsenal will turn Liverpool over, Liverpool would have much preferred a European opposition I'm sure.
Jack Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 Can see Arsenal v Liverpool being a boring game, if Liverpool get an away goal you have to favour them going back to Anfield for the second leg.
Ultra Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 Im not a huge fan either but i do love John Terry and Ashley Cole. I can see them struggling away but at The Bridge they will be to strong. If we cant win there nobody can. John Terry is a player I respect (even if he is an ex-tree... ) Cashley however is a selfish, money-grabbing, two-timing lowlife.
purpleronnie Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 I fancy roma as well, I can see english teams struggling.
Jack Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 I fancy roma as well, I can see english teams struggling. Totti is a major doubt for the game, they have many other quality players, I know, but I can just see United outshining them on the night. I'd be very surprised if United didn't win it this year.
Tommeh Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 Winner of Arsenal - Scousers will win it for me. And United will not get such an easy ride this year against Roma
lildave3 Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 Liv - Ars will probably be a boring game. Watch out for Fenerbahce beating Chelsea. Possibility, but unlikely. Fenerbahce are coming into this after a great result in their last game and are going to be confident, especially with it being at home, but I just can't see the defence coping with Drogba.
Joe. Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 I don't understand why people see Manchester United as such a force and favourites for the competition when they've been a failure for almost 10 years in the competition. To be honest, I think Roma will win, I just have this feeling. They're no pushovers, Totti or not. They beat Real Madrid fairly comfortably and I just think Man Utd may just underestimate them slightly. I even thought the 20/1 odds of them winning the competition were worth a quid or two. Watch this space.

They have goalscorers and matchwinners galore too.
Joe. Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 Because the form they're in i'd say they could beat anybody. They have goalscorers and matchwinners galore too. Haven't they always had these? They've been the dominant force in the Premiership for years but never reproduced it on the European scene. I don't think it will be any different this season.

I don't think it will be any different this season. Because the European scene has always been stronger than it is currently.
SamL Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 I'm thinking that the two semi finals will be contested by Barca, Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal. It'll be tough for Arsenal at Anfield but I can see them winning at the Emirates and holding for a draw at Anfield. There's no way Man U will pull off another 7-1 victory against Roma but I can see them winning quite comfortably. I really can't see there being an upset for Schalke or Fenerbache.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 Manwells prediction for player of the round Colin Kazim Richards. What a star.
