Reserve team manager Gerry Taggart has named a youthful line-up to take on Bradford City at the Coral Windows Stadium (Valley Parade) this evening (7pm).

Boss Ian Holloway confirmed on Monday that he would be sending a young side to the game as the first team continue in their battle against relegation - and he has kept his promise.

Radostin Kishishev is the only first team player to be included in the starting 11 for the contest, while Sergio Hellings and Ricky Sappleton are named on the bench.

Billy McKay, who was called up to the Republic of Ireland under 20 side earlier this week, will be partnered by Ashley Chambers in attack.

City face a tough run in to the reserve campaign - with seven games to play in the month of April.

Who's Robert Ambrusic? Disappointing that Worley isn't playing.

Perhaps he's on standby for the first team, weren't either Kisnorbo or McAuley carryying injuries :dunno:

Is that the Steven Howard on the bench?

Worley has been giving a squad number (20) so he could be in with a shout?

I'd be very surprised for a while yet. He seemed to have much to learn when I saw him in the reserves.

After all the inactivity last month and now seven games in a month you can see some people getting injured and the rest getting super fit at last, just as the season's ending.

Good to see Joe Magunda back after long term injury.

If Kishishev guides such an inexperienced team to victory it will be an achievement indeed.

Latest score

For once Bradford City had the luxury of fielding the most experienced side with TJ Moncur, Alex Rhodes, Scott Phelan and David Brown all in the starting line up, while the visitors only had one professional, Radostin Kishishev, who had featured in the Foxes' first team so far this season.

City also had 18-year old Coventry City apprentice Callum Burgess on trial in central defence playing alongside Liam Smith.

Leicester had the better of the opening period with Ashley Chambers shooting just wide in the 8th minute and he was unlucky again two minutes later forcing a finger-tip save from Ben Saynor.

On the quarter hour Lee Cox broke through but his 20-yard effort went just wide.

Luke O'Brien ran through the centre of the park on nineteen minutes but David Brown was unable to control the ball as he turned towards Carl Pentney's goal.

In the 35th minute Moncur tried to put Medley through but the ball overshot its target slightly and the City striker was unable to catch it before Pentney raced out from the goal-line to gather.

A minute later Luke Morgan's fine run down the right almost helped put City in front when his cross was met by David Brown who raced into the area but his rasping shot ended up just wide of the upright.

The second half started with Osborne and Sharry replacing Moncur and Rhodes.

Bradford City were in front two minutes after the restart when Browns cross from the right found Medley who coolly slid the ball under Pentney.

Be interesting to see whether Worley does get a chance before the end of the season, from the little i've seen of him, he looks like the sort of defender we have been missing for a while. I know our defence is solid and I wouldn't want to tweak it too much, but a defender who can pass and take the ball out of defence would be a welcome addition at some point.

Long way for him to go yet, bit rough round the edges apparently.
