BigGibbo Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Thats not credible at all they might aswell have done the surveys at primary schools.
purpleronnie Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Thats funny. Norwich v ipswich higher than Man u v liverpool. Ans apparantly lcfc v cov is more of a rivalry than millwall v west ham....yeah right.
sdb Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Brighton - Crystal Palace?? is that even a rivalry?? surely not more so than the merseyside derby!
lavrentis Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Is Celtic and Rangers even in that list or is it only for the English leagues.
LeeCovFox Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Derby and Forest is big, I'll grant you. But surely its not bigger than the Manchester derby? Palace v Brighton is a rivalry, and its pretty heated, although I can't remember the reasons for it, I just remember reading an article about it, quite interesting actually.

Villa v Blues Derby V Forest Wolves v Albion Chesterfield v Mansfield Leic v Cov Stoke v Port Vale Walsall v no-one When it comes down to rivals ready to be slated by folks in the North of the County Regards I can understand the Cov rivalry more now, having lived in Hinckley for a couple of years, and now living in Cov. But growing up, I never considered them as rivals. It was always Derby and Forest for me, more so Forest. I would go as far as to say as I quite liked Cov as a kid, being of the mindset that they were a Midlands club doing well, having been in the top flight for many years. That opinion has changed now, although that may be more to do with the frequency of our games, which may well have been an influence in the days when I didn't consider them to be a rival. I certainly think they hate us more than we do them. I have Cov supporting mates who despise us and Villa in equal measure, perhaps even more so than Villa now that Birmingham derbies are established again.
poynton blue Posted 17 April 2008 Author Posted 17 April 2008 WBA Wolves over Liverpool United. I would go along with that, the more local the derby the more passionate, people in Bham, Sheff, Black Country etc have bragging rights etc with work mates in the pub etc... more so than a two city derby like Manchester Liverpool Regards

Always had the opposite opinion the Forest Derby is so big with split border towns like Ilkeston etc being half half thought of LCFC rivalry with those two as say Chesterfields with the two Sheff clubs!! We should just leave them alone and let them get on with hating each other Coventry,Leicesters one and only true rival Regards
Finchy Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Always thought Leicesters no1 rival was Coventry never thought Forest or Derby, imo the midlands is.....Villa v Blues Derby V Forest Wolves v Albion Chesterfield v Mansfield Leic v Cov Stoke v Port Vale Walsall v no-one The Leicester Cov rivalry is huge in Nuneaton, Hinckley etc, they REALLY hate us. It's definitely a rivalry that will keep getting bigger and bigger. Especially if one of us goes down this season and the other just stays up. I never used to see Cov as our main rivals but after going to College in Hinckley i can see it is a huge rivalry.

lildave3 Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 WBA Wolves over Liverpool United. I'd go along with that from what i've read/heard about these encounters in the past.

Joe. Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 I don't really know how some people class a local derby as being bigger than another.
Geo V Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Whoever put them in that order must have been pissed.
Finchy Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 I don't really know how some people class a local derby as being bigger than another. That's a good point, to you you're local derby is much bigger than any other.
Corky Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 That's a good point, to you you're local derby is much bigger than any other. I know. Suprises me as well.
