Hi again. For the last couple of months we have really struggled to score. The 2 recent away wins were unexpected and nothing short of miraculous. Unfortunately , the cup run has really taken its toll and the whole team just look like they have nothing left in the tank. I hope and pray that we can somehow limp over the finishing line if not today then next week. We are a better team than last year and I think we deserve to stay up (if anybody does). Like I said in my previous post if you score first I can see our heads going down and that will be that.

I see that after watching us play Hull, Holloway reckons he has a plan to beat us. Well if he thinks that you can play like Hull did he is nuts. Hull are the best team to play at oakwell in the last 2 years. They are a real team. Their work rate was incredible. Far exceded Sunderland last year. If you start off at that pace and dont score then you could be in trouble later in the game. Both our clubs are where we are for a reason and Hull are currently where they are for a reason. If you try to play like them it could be a mistake.

I wouldn't worry to much rednotdead......I reckon Barnsley already have enough to avoid the dreaded.......so perhaps a favour to all your old friends in Leicester is surely in order :)

they fancy their chances against us though

Preview: Barnsley v Leicester City

If there has been one lesson to be learned from this season it is that you should never write off Barnsley Football Club.

Two weeks ago they had their FA Cup dreams shattered and were faced with a survival climb of mountainous proportions with two away trips to promotion chasing Watford and strong home boys Preston.

With just one win previously this season the odds did not look good but being classed as underdogs is clearly something that Simon Davey and co relish and now they look set for a relatively comfortable final few weeks of the campaign after a monumental six point haul on their travels.

Though defeat to Hull leaves them just four points clear of the relegation zone, one more win would all but guarantee their survival and, for once backed by the blue half of Sheffield, they have an excellent chance against visiting Leicester on Saturday.

This campaign has been very disappointing from The Foxes' point of view as Milan Mandaric's millions have failed to ignite the desired promotion push and instead they are now sitting in the final relegation spot.

Four managers in less than a year has hardly helped and even Ian Holloway has failed to in

spire, leaving Leicester with three games to save their season.

The Reds will fancy their chances against a side with just four wins on the road but this stage of the season always throws up a few surprises.

Player to watch: Steve Howard

A big, burly forward, 31-year-old Howard is an archetypal successful lower league striker after making his name at Luton before becoming a £1m+ player for both Derby and Leicester.

After being voted Derby's player of the season following their promotion to the Premiership, he failed to make an impact following the step-up and returned to the Championship with The Foxes in January.

He has quickly demonstrated his quality at this level with six goals including a hattrick in the surprise 4-1 win at West Brom last month and his power and scoring ability will be a valuable asset at this vital stage of the season for Leicester.

If Steve Howards the player to watch I'm glad I aint going

Pretty worried about this. We can't lose or we could be in a world of pain come 5pm, they're picking up and Ultra has predicted an easy win for us, all bad omens.

Mate, take a little radio with you and stash it in your pocket with a secret ear piece! lol

This is more important than a birthday!

Picking up? Not on the evidence of the midweek game..

We are their bogey team, and if Brian Howard's not playing for them (not that he's done anything against us in the past) then we should be favourites - referees and eccentric team selections permitting.

I'm in Barnsley town centre at the moment (the Joseph Bramah pub) and the mood to date has been surprisingly relaxed, although that's bound to change come kick-off time.

With Cov and Saints looking good for wins today (although this league has more banana skins than a Central American jungle) we really do need a win today.

I need to STOP doing the BBC predictor! I have no idea what any result will be today. I'm so nervous.

Come on City.

Please.

It's all I've been thinking about all week!

I've spent more time on predictor, these boards and looking at the table than I've been with my wife these last couple of weeks!

She keeps coming up to the computer, sees me staring at the league table, mumbles something like: 'Has it changed yet?' and then walks off.

You know, I think I'm actually beginning to tremble ffs.
