Phube Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 Just watching Inside Story in BBC1 about gay footballers, and still Justin Fashanu is STILL the only OUT gay footballer in Britain... ever! Which we all know much be statistically wrong! But Eric Hall thinks it's correct, because gay men wouldn't ever play football!!! Not effeminate enough for them, obviously! Wonderful 70's attitude!
davieG Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 As the man who ultimately caused us to go into admnistration I'd sooner not have a topic with his name on it even if it is to call him a twat.

Corky Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 You are quite right. Anyone who is friends with Dennis Wise is what you call Eric Hall in the title of this article.
Barry Trotter Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 Eric Hall is a tw@t! Aww I already knew that.
ASH17LCFC Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 Guti is bisexual. It's a known fact in Spain. He reminds me off Lee Hendrie. Is our Lee a bi ?
Ultra Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 The programme was making some interesting points, including on how Fashanu suffered from the bigotry of those around him (notably Brian Clough). But then that little toerag (who apparently was Fashanu's agent) appeared on the screen, and I had to switch over in haste before I did serious damage to the TV. The beeb should at least have given us a health warning!

Kilworthfox Posted 26 April 2008 Posted 26 April 2008 Jermain Jenas & Ashley Cole Possibly a city hero is bi but I am not saying it!
Phube Posted 26 April 2008 Author Posted 26 April 2008 Well I heard rumours that John O'Shea was dating Will Young! But again, never openly!
Koke Posted 26 April 2008 Posted 26 April 2008 I think John O'Shea is sexy. And so is Shane Long and David Healy.

His homosexuality was just an easy thing for Clough to pick on, and unfortunately in that day and age, such homophobia was unexceptional. Clough did express deep regret for his treatment of Fashanu (rightly so), and did say before he died tha he wished he had made more effort to understand Fashanu, who was also a recluse and a depressive (no wonder if others were similar in their treatment of him as Cloughie, whose own behaviour would certainly not have helped Fashanu's personal issues improve). Whether this is a case of Clough feeling guilty, or adjusting with the times, I have no idea. I like to think the latter.

He treated a lot of players shabbily ask MON, as for the homosexuality what does it matter, why do people need to 'come out' frankly I don't want here about any footballers/celebrities sexual shenanigans be it straight, homosexual, kinky or bit of all three.

From comments I see on here (which sadly usually go unmoderated), not a great deal has changed. Even in today's climate, supposedly much more tolerant, any high-profile player brave enough to come out would be instantly vilified by sections of his own fanbase, let alone opponents.
lildave3 Posted 26 April 2008 Posted 26 April 2008 Guti is bisexual. It's a known fact in Spain. Yeah but he's Spanish. Need I say more.

Manwell Pablo Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 Yeah but he's Spanish. Need I say more. It's not even proven, the Spanish press released pictures of him kissing a bloke, he says it's his sister. Also can someone provide me with a link that proves Arancha de Benito is actually a transexual, because I can't find one anywhere.
