I find it difficult to read some posts at the moment stating we will walk the league next season and the Johnston paints cup is already locked up in our trophy case. Same old shit really as last year to tell you the truth. All i want and expect next season is the club to play with a bit of heart and passion which has been lacking for a long time now and then and only then can we start to talk about anything.

Just cos we drop down a division doesn't mean we are automatically going to

A) We win the league

B) We magically start playing well.

c) We get some bloody ticker and a couple of low hanging gonads.

Lets hope we have all learned our lessons from this season and just cos we sign a promising player or twenty that doesn't translate to on field success.

Sorry for another pointless thread but the last couple of days have hurt and all i want is to be proud of my club again, so lets not build unecessary expectations and fall in to the same hole we did last year with listening to crap bloody talk of us getting promotion.

Absolutely agree, 100%

No offence Roo but you've highlighted the sort of defeatist attitude that is wrecking this club. If City do not seriously think immediate promotion is attainable then we might as well all go home. Leicester City are far too big a club with a proud history to be farting about among the calibre of teams in division one.

Of course we have got to think about automatic promotion but it will be far from a walk in the park. We NEED to rebiuild out team, cut out the crap (likes of Steve Howard) and bring in some other experienced players to go along with the fantastic set of young players which we have.

There is expecting a good show and there is being arrogant.

I think arrogance has run rife for too long.

For me an example of this arrogance has been in the sledging of our managers. Not one manager has been given a chance before the sledging has begun, not even Megson who was booed and hissed from day one, and is now employed by a Premier League one ffs. Which, I might point out, is two leagues away from us.

None taken.

Its not a deafeatist attitude i just realise that this club doesn't have a winning culture and hasn't since we got relegated from the prem, im just sick off all this crap that we are a big club and we don't deserve to be in league one. What people don't seem to realise is that we are in League one and yeah sure we have a lot of fans but were not a BIG club cos a big club wouldn't get them selves in this shit.

To get promoted things need to change and change quickly cos the club has rotted to the core and it fooking hurts when that final whistle went on Sunday we all hurt like a knife through the heart. I just hope that was the wake up call the people that count at this once great club and the players finally start playing like the way that this club means to so many of us.

Milan and Co need to start showing this club with some respect he along with many have treated this club with utter contempt and need to really work hard and building this great club up again starting with the foundations that have detiorated over the last few seasons.

I personally want to see (not that i will get to see us play now) alot of the academy players from the last few seasons feature heavily in our League One campaign, players prepared to play for the club and turn themselves in to quality professionals. Most of the academy players have grown up supporting the club and are young enough to hopefully not been condaminated by what ever disease it is this club has picked up over the last 3-4 seasons. (Thrac would love me now)

Thats my thoughts any way i just want the days my elderly grandfather talks about back from how he used to stand in the Kop proud as punch watching his beloved foxes run out at Filbert St. knowing that what ever the result he would go home knowing that his side had tried there heart out for the love of the shirt and the respect of there adoring supporters. I just want those days back as we all do.

A loosing culture is hard to get rid of and i just don't think that because were in a lower league it will automatically change.

Megson was a parasite who should never have come through the doors. He was never committed to us, just using his time as a dry run for the move to Bolton.

The damage he inflicted on the team and its mindset was ultimately too much for his successor to repair. That's why we've gone.

But all managers since O'Neill have favoured negative, mind-numbing hoofball, usually without any great success.

Any manager who tries to break that trend and makes visiting the Way a worthwhile experience again will be warmly welcomed and supported by the fans.

Anyone who seems to be positive about promotion next year is being accused of arrogance. I expect us to go up, anything other than that will be a failure in my eyes, i'm not saying that because we are a 'big' club or we have a biggish fan base, I'm saying that because the chances are that we will have the best squad in the league on paper and the biggest budget.

I know that doesn't mean we are guaranteed to go up but it means we should be challenging and if we're not then the season will be classed as a massive failure.

No offence Rowlatt but your post was very similar to all of the posts i reed around this time last year, 12 months on we are in our worst position in 124 years of the club. Which is my whole point.

We dont know anything about next year players/manger/chairman and were talking promotion, I want promotoion as much as the next fan but this early expecting it is just ludacris.

I think it's just a case of getting over the despair of getting relegated. People are just trying to look on the brightside and looking to the future.

After the season we've just had, we're allowed to be a little optimistic.

There's optimism and there's cocky gobshite. We need to make sure that unlike the fans of some other "big" teams who've had similar predicaments, we stay on the right side of that line.

Exactly. Like Forest fans.

So it's Megsons fault now?

If you ask Ultra, it's Mandaric's fault. Basically the FOXES TRUST (FOXES!!!!!!!!!) should be running the club.

Question: How would the FT run if there was no one telling them what to do/say?

Megson got us off to a bad start, which Holloway then failed to improve on. They're both at fault and I'll be very disappointed if people forget about Megson's worse-than-Holloway record when talking about this season.

I agree in part but promotion next season won't be a "nice to have" it's an absolute cold hard necessity and as difficult as it most probably will be anything else will be failure...and we need to forget all about the paintball trophy and concentrate on the league only!

We should certainly set targets and aim for promotion, but under no circumstances should we expect it to happen. Once you start expecting things to happen then you take it for granted that it will, this leads to complacency.

Also, it doesn't matter one little bit that we may have the 'best team on paper'. On paper we have a decent Championship team, yet we all know what happened. Also, we simple don't know what team we'll have left at the start of next season.

Yes we should be optimistic, yes we should set high targets, but, they've got to be grounded in reality and pragmatism else they're worthless.
