Just to update you all, have spoken to Peter Jones today who has given me a bit of a reality check on this. Going to go back to the club in three or four weeks for a proper discussion. It sounds as if there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the place at the moment and although he was very positive and encouraging, I got the impression the last thing on his mind right now is a giant flag.

If enough people want me to set up the Paypal account now, I will do - but I can't give any guarantees yet on the size or design of the actual flag.

If we end up downscaling the flag then all money will still go towards purchasing it/them even if it's not quite as giant as we initially thought. A lot depends on the club's seating policy for next season which is a long way from being decided.

Check out the size of this mother (85 ft x 50 ft). Ours will be half the height of this, length-wise... from what I can work out. Unless I've missed something.
