Good luck next season Leicester City

Hello all LCFC fans, would just like to wish you all the best of luck in League 1 next season and hope you make a quick return back to where you should be (not in League 1).

Before the games on Sunday i was thinking to myself: "god i'd laugh if Leicester went down", but after it was confirmed that you were going down, after I saw the tears of all your loyal supporters when the final whistle blew and after we put in a disgraceful performance oursleves (a performance that should have got us relegated) against a team who had ****all to play for, it became obvious that i was filled with a deep sense of sympathy for your football club and to a larger extent your fans who have put up with the same kind of rubbish football as we have during the season.

I will speak for myself here but, as a Coventry fan, when i feast my eyes on the fixtures for the upcoming season the first thing i look for is when we will be playing Leicester and always make sure i'm free on that weekend. This year i won't have that same excitement about the fixture list just purely because you guys won't be there. Wish Wednesday had gone instead!

Good luck next season, would love another M69 derby in the near future.

Peace out!

Maybe it's cause I'm from Hull but I just don't feel the hate.... I feel the rivalry, and I hate it when we lose to Hull because people have it over me... but that's why I follow football. It's boring to have no rivalries and that's why I don't understand why Forest fans would deliberately spurn a rivalry with Leicester, because it gives games more heat. Surely they should be annoyed to see us down, to lose their chance to prove themselves better than us if they win? It's what makes football worthwhile, like this chap has said.

Thanks a lot Joey. When i was writing this i thought i might get a bit of the old 'hate mail' just cause of who i support even though i'm wishing Leicester the best of luck, but you've made me feel very welcome.

Anytime you fancy going on a Coventry forum i'll make sure you get a good reception with 0% gloating ;)

All the best pal!

The only way you'd get "hate mail" is if you came on here, acted like a tosser and just pratted about. If you remain civilised, you'll get a warm reception and a civilised response. It doesn't matter who you support if you are normal and don't gloat.

We're not all that bad... surely not

Thanks for the welcome Sam

Most of you are all right. Apart from Richard Keys and Jon Gaunt.

Still hasn't really sunk in for me yet.

I don't think it will until next season. :(

It's not pathetic at all, after we got relegated from the prem all those years ago it took me until christmas the following season to fully get over what had happened to us, it didn't help that we were playing teams like Stockport away either!

After hearing your relegation I was quite pleased and smug (not gloating though). At the time I didn't realise that one year later we'd be in exactly the same boat. And I've vowed never to laugh at anything or anyone again, after laughing at Roy Essandoh's name in the programme :(:nono:

i caught myself earlier thinking "i hope fulham go down, will be a nice local away day" (as i live in london)... then remembered :(

i think it's sinking in for me now but it won't be until the close season when we get bumped out of the "championship" section of BBC, SSN etc that i'll really feel it

good post Sky Blue - see you in 2009!

Fat fcuking cnut.

With amazingly hairy arms too, the guy looks like a gorilla and after 15 years of doing Sky coverage still sounds like a GMTV presenter who hit the jackpot.

Also, thanks to Sky Blue. Had the positions been reversed I might not have been so sporting, so congrats for having a bit of good grace.

Here's to old rivalries being renewed in two seasons

Yea Keys is fine, but i heard Gaunt was taking the piss out of Leicester, so i've gone off him now. I used to think he was quite funny on his radio show.

Thanks for the good luck message.

I was at Cov Uni during the period of time when you flirted with relegation for several seasons from the First Division. (Or was it Premiership then)

Must admit being a Leicester fan felt a sense of satisfaction when you went down.

Unfortunately for us we had the same problem only in the wrong division.

It wasn't a case of Premiership down to Championship, it was even worse!!

124 years of history down the pan thanks to an inept managerial appointment.

As it happens the way things turned out it could have been you, not us.

I trust that next season your board realises how close you came to the abyss that is League 3 and decides to invest in the squad to keep you up.

I have never understood the so called hatred that some fans feel for their nearest rivals.

I just go to games to enjoy the football, don't care who the opposition is as long as it's a good game.

Good luck to you for next season, hopefully see you in 2010.
