FA Cup Final

A dire final. Pompey did enough to win, and no more.

I wonder how many of their fans watched them before Mandaric took over there?

Pompey always got decent crowds.

I spent the whole time it was 0-0 saying how garbage he was at Ninian Park against us this year and that he was an awful keeper who would cost them. lol

Well he is a Villa reject.

Didn't think the final was as bad as a lot of people are making out. But at the same time, not at all a classic. Nice to see Redknapp lift the trophy, no doubt he's deserved that. Would love to see him make something out of their European chance netx season. They've certainly got a decent base to have a go at it with. Players like Muntari, Utaka and Mendes would all certainly have no trouble fitting in for me.

Their average gates during the 90s were about 12000. And we played there on several occasions when the crowds were well below that.

Precisely, the match was decent but not great. However, it was a country mile better than the sloppy shite of the season before so all the big-4 loving is pointless. Its all about a side's attitude as to whether it becomes classic and with Portsmouth being content to sit on a 1-0, it was going to take something exceptional from Cardiff to make it one and unfortunately despite playing well they didn't. I was hoping that the two teams would go all-out to get it, but it just didn't work out that way because of that Enckelman cock-up.
