FilboFox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 What Bullsh*t. Nadal is the arrogant one. And how are Federer and Djokovic arrogant?? BTW. Come on Ivanovic! I'm not going to rant about it again... if you can't see that Federer is arrogant then you are deluded I'm afraid. As for the women's final, I'm pleased Ivanovic won... she did play better on the day but it wasn't a classic final... certainly not one to be watched again at a later date... SERENA FOR WIMBLEDON!!!

SERENA FOR WIMBLEDON!!! Federer is arrogant because he can be, he is possibly the best Tennis player ever, just like C.Ronaldo is. But Federer is looking pace and struggling under the pressure of Djokovic and Nadal.

Les-TA-Jon Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 WHY!?! Are you seriously asking that question!?!He is so full of himself it's unreal! He ponces about on court like he owns the place and shows absolutely no emotion at all as if he expects it all to happen for him and if it doesn't, its a great injustice. He's sacked great coaches just because he lost a few matches which is really him looking for excuses because of course it isn't his fault is it!!! Pathetic. Then you have the ultimate in arrogance at Wimbledon where he comes onto court with a golden rimmed bag and a logo on a jacket depicting his trophies he's won and the big letter F... I mean for God's sake... if that isn't having your own head stuck up your arse then I don't know what is. He is arrogant and completely self absorbed which is why, for me at least but I'm sure many others think the same, I just want to see him lose so I don't have to put up with him any more... people like Nadal and Monfils are really great to watch because they show so much determination on and off court and don't waltz onto court almost knowing they are going to win... they show the opposition respect. Federer had a quote from his last match interview which said something along the lines of "I totally dominated him at times"... do I need to say any more!?! Who else would say that... most other players would just say that they played well and are happy to be through but nooooo, Federer has to go overboard and big himself up... First enboldened point: Yes because sacking managers/coachs due to previous losses is unheard of in the world of sport Second enboldened point: Don't over sportsmen/teams around the world have stuff on their kit or whatever depicting how many times they've won a competition? Such as England, Liverpool or any other nations with trophy honours. Plus the "big letter F" is his name and also represents the Roger Federer Foundation that supports and gives aid to poverty stricken children in south africa. Third enboldened point: Sports people tend to talk about their success. Nadal after beating Djokovic: "Maybe the way the match turned out today was easier than I expected. I was not expecting to play at this level. I was very dominant, I could put the ball anywhere I wanted. I was dominating both on my forehand and backhand, and I didn't think that I could make mistakes. That was key."

I really hate Federer as much as I hate Mourinho... both are just arrogant twats who need a damn good slapping by losing badly so that they aren't quite so 'Special'... The bias that you show towards people is pathetic and completely ruins your argument. The post above pretty much sums why most of what you put is complete shite! Wasn't he given that jacket because of his great success at Wimbledon? Not through personal choice. I'm sure Becker used to have one or something like that? I take it you feel the same about him? Stop getting your knickers in a twist about something that is nothing more than jealously towards someone who is at the top of their game.
Number 6 Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 I thought he was just wearing the white jacket because he was an arrogant git to be honest. I really don't like the man at all. Was a joy to watch him taught a clay court lesson today.

I think Fed may not win it this year, and who better to take the title than Nadal. I've had a small wager on Nadal anyway (luckily before this tourno).

Father Ted Posted 8 June 2008 Author Posted 8 June 2008 If anyone is going to take Fed's crown it will be Djokovic not Nadal. There are also rumours that Federer was overheard saying that he rates Djokovic more than Nadal as a player and for the future.

He took Fed all the way last year, and will do again. There are also rumours that Federer was overheard saying that he rates Djokovic more than Nadal as a player and for the future. If that's true then I think it's a bit of a silly comment to make, what better way to fire up your rival?
Simi Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 There are also rumours that Federer was overheard saying that he rates Djokovic more than Nadal as a player and for the future. Oh my god. Federer commentated on an opponment? He should be thrown off the tour. Pathetic the lengths some people go to knock someone they don't like.
Lovejoy Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 You talking about Wimbledon? Nadal is just a normal player on grass. It will be between Djokovic and Federer all the way. 2 successive Wimbledon finals? Though tbh, if it ain't Federer, Leyton Hewitt !

Manwell Pablo Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 I Can't look past Fed on a grass court I'm afraid! Would be a shame if he never mangaged to win at Roland Garros, really would hurt his claim for being the best player of all time.

I think he has already won so much that he will always at least be considered one of the best. But as you said, if Garros eludes him then he may not be able to claim to be the best of all time. But then no-one ever had to compete against Nadal on clay before. So far ahead of the field on clay, it's hard to see anyone stopping him, bookies have already chalked him up at 2/5. As for Wimbledon, I just hope it's a little closer this time. I hope all the big names perform and push each other all the way. I would love to see another Fed Nadal final to be honest, mostly because I think it would be the hardest to call in ages.
Toby or not Toby Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 Slightly off topic to what you lot are saying. Is anyone watching the stella artois tourn on channel 2, i put it on to watch murray he played 2 games won them both and the his opponent retired

TBH much as I admire Fed, the only way I can see him winning in Paris is if Nadal misses it one year through injury.
