RowlattsFox Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 If we're are in the south section then I think we'll get Bournemouth.
Finchy Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 I just want the easiest game we can possibly get, there are no exciting or glamorous fixtures at this stage.
Joe. Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Notts County or Lincoln away for me. I'd take either of them too mate.
Uncle Albert Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 A shit home game. So i wouldnt worry that much about missing it.
Joe. Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 What's the date of the 1st round? The games themselves will be played in the week commencing 11th August.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 I've never been to Aldershot Cant get much more of a shithole than that!!
Floating Fox Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Cant get much more of a shithole than that!! C'MON THE SHOTS...
AmericanScott Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Wycombe away! Reverse the curse. C'MON THE SHOTS... ...And then wipe it off
AmericanScott Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 I want Arsenal away. They're involved in Europe so we would have to reach the 3rd round to possibly play them, sadly.
Raj Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 They're involved in Europe so we would have to reach the 3rd round to possibly play them, sadly. I dont care. I WANT ARSENAL. NOW!
viewfromthenorth Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 The Carling Cup is drawn very strangely. There's top half (or seeds), which is; 1 Birmingham 2 Reading 3 Derby County 4 Bristol City 5 Crystal Palace 6 Watford 7 Wolverhampton Wanderers 8 Ipswich Town 9 Sheffield United 10 Plymouth Argyle 11 Charlton Athletic 12 Cardiff City 13 Burnley 14 Queens Park Rangers 15 Preston North End 16 Sheffield Wednesday 17 Norwich City 18 Barnsley 19 Blackpool 20 Southampton 21 Coventry City 22 Leicester City 23 S****horpe United 24 Colchester United 25 Swansea City 26 Nottingham Forest 27 Doncaster Rovers 28 Carlisle United 29 Leeds United 30 Southend United 31 Brighton & Hove Albion 32 Oldham Athletic 33 Northampton Town 34 Huddersfield Town 35 Tranmere Rovers 36 Walsall And the bottom half, which is; 1 Swindon Town 2 Leyton Orient 3 Hartlepool United 4 Bristol Rovers 5 Millwall 6 Yeovil Town 7 Cheltenham Town 8 Crewe Alexandra 9 Bournemouth 10 Gillingham 11 Port Vale 12 Luton Town 13 Milton Keynes Dons 14 Peterborough United 15 Hereford United 16 Stockport County 17 Rochdale 18 Darlington 19 Wycombe Wanderers 20 Chesterfield 21 Rotherham United 22 Bradford City 23 Morecambe 24 Barnet 25 Bury 26 Brentford 27 Lincoln City 28 Grimsby Town 29 Accrington Stanley 30 Shrewsbury Town 31 Macclesfield Town 32 Dagenham & Redbridge 33 Notts County 34 Chester City 35 Aldershot 36 Exeter City The first round is also done on a regional basis, but it's wierd..the sections arn't equal and some clubs more northerly than others end up in the southern section. The 36 teams to progress will be joined by the 12 Premier League clubs not involved in europe, to give 24 second round ties. 24 winners in round 2 are joined by the 8 clubs that qualified for europe, to give a nice even 32. I'm not 100%, but I don't think the second round is regionalised...only the first. What a boring 1st post! Hello people, btw!
