lavrentis Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Oh right, that must be why Adidas manufacture Huddersfield kits? and Peterborough.
Asha Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Oh right, that must be why Adidas manufacture Huddersfield kits? My mistake, my apologies.
DBEightyFive Posted 19 June 2008 Author Posted 19 June 2008 but they (Huddersfield) probably have to pay big bucks to have it made by Adidas whereas Liverpool probably get it for far less. All to do with exposure and sponsorship
SamL Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 and Peterborough. Precisely. I feel Mandaric went with Jako because he'd already got links with them from his time at Portsmouth so could negotiate a good deal.
Guest Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Precisely. I feel Mandaric went with Jako because he'd already got links with them from his time at Portsmouth so could negotiate a good deal. We went with Jako because they pay us for the privilege, and they provide the kits etc to the squad for free. If we wanted to go with one of the big brand names, we would have to buy it out of a catalogue; Derby, for example, use a catalogue kit. They only provide kits to the big clubs, as they make more than enough money out of selling the replicas.
Flynny Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I can't believe people are still moaning about the kit. Apart from the enormous yellow dancing tile, which can't be avoided and looks better than the yellow strip in the original prototype, the material's nice and the white trimming is genuinely really smart.

I'm loving the description of the Topps Tiles man
Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 How old does a kit have to be before it becomes retro, instead of just making you look like a pauper? Is 96/97 retro yet?
lookwhaticando Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Wooooh! Hark at Flynny coming over all Trinny and Susannah! That's what that grunting was all about earlier, then.
