Dodeth Tyke Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Ive just had a thought... Where the fook did Baaaaaaaaaaaansleh get £1.2m??? It's a mystery!
tartanowl Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Very disappointed at the reaction of most of you, having a go at Barnsley. He probably wanted championship football and picked a club where he will get a regular game unlike the blunts if he had gone there. Hope you come back up next year. To all those who have had a go at Barnsley though i have one thing to say NANANANANANANA WE'VE GOT IAIN HUME, IAIN HUME WE'VE GOT IAIN HUME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why shouldn't they have a go? You're a small town club with a pathetic support who guaranteed next season will be fighting relegation. It's hardly a step up for him. You've never been anything, will never amount to anything, and Hume showing such a lack of ambition by signing for you is quite shocking.
Durnerz Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 I hope we spend this new found fortune wisely. However knowing our club, Mandaric will go and blow it all on some magic beans.
JoeyB Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Dont forget if hume went for 1.2 mil we only get 960k off it as Tranmere had 20% of next sell on iirc, dont know if its been posted........
Fox You Forest Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 I hope we spend this new found fortune wisely. However knowing our club, Mandaric will go and blow it all on some magic beans. Or paying for Elvis's legal fees.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Yeah he does, I said Shit Support. We had one of the best supports in the Country last season. Then football is in a sorrier state than I thought. I'm sure he'll miss the spectacle of 10 per cent of of a two thirds full Walkers Stadium singing for two minutes and then settling down into silence for the rest of the 90 minutes. Me, I can't get enough of it

Once that Russian billionaire signs up you'll be able to afford to buy players too. Please don't hold your breath though will you?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Wow, a South Yorkshire scrap right here in our little thread. Any Donny fans want to join in?

tartanowl Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Yay, the mighty Owls. Once that Russian billionaire signs up you'll be able to afford to buy players too. Please don't hold your breath though will you? It took 7,000 of us at your dump to get you a league crowd above 15,000 last season. I'm looking forward to our customary points against you next season too. 25 years and counting since your last win at Hillsborough. There's a difference between clubs like ours and yours. If our takeover goes ahead we have potential as a football club as do Leicester City. You will always just be the little 3rd club in South Yorkshire and Doncaster this season might even take that crown from you. If I supported Leicester I'd be furious. Hume signing for your diddy little club is a joke. Total lack of ambition. You're just a small town in Sheffield. Welcome back tartan owl

I mean Barnsley come on, at least go to a promotion challenging side. Bristol City
Asha Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Thats what pissed me off. I mean Barnsley come on, at least go to a promotion challenging side. Bristol City Apparently, Sheffield United, Preston North End and another I forget, may have been Wolves? were all after him. Out of the 4, why Barnsley? Why?
knowitall Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Apparently, Sheffield United, Preston North End and another I forget, may have been Wolves? were all after him. Out of the 4, why Barnsley? Why? Because Barnsley came up with the cash. Iain got a phone call 2 days ago out of the blue. " Barnsley have made an offer for you and we have accepted it. Can you ring """"""" """" and see if you can arrange terms?" You mean I am not in Leicester's plans. "NO". Tell me whom out there would stay at a club who no longer wanted you. Truth is none of you. Good Luck Iain.
Maybes Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 I just pray Pearson is a million times better in the transfer market than Milan.
knowitall Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 £1.2M aint bad at all. Peterbro want £3 million for their forward who has not played at this level. Plus will any of this money be spent on players?
Maybes Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Peterbro want £3 million for their forward who has not played at this level. Plus will any of this money be spent on players? That is the key question. To be honest im not expecting big things.....

knowitall Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 If Mandaric and Hoos are to be believed, Hume wanted out. If so, bollocks to him after what he said when we went down. If they are lying, it explains his departure to Barnsley of all places as the club obviously wanted shot of him and he had no choice but to join the shit arses. Hume had no real choice
Maybes Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Ah fair enough. I was unaware of that.In which case, why would he have been told he wasn't in the plans? The money was too good? We have someone in mind who is perhaps better but need the cash to fund it......as unlikely as it may seem?
knowitall Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Ah fair enough. I was unaware of that.In which case, why would he have been told he wasn't in the plans? I dont know this. Can only guess that £1.2 million was an offer Leicester could not refuse
Unabomber Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 I just pray Pearson is a million times better in the transfer market than Milan. No one is better than Milan
Lord Nibblington Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 I like the assumption that all those other teams must have been after Hume, since it was written on the Barnsley website. I mean. They couldn't possibly embelish the facts to make the signing seem more impressive, could they? No. No club would do that. We beat Premiership teams to sign Carl Cort, you know.
knowitall Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 Knowitall...any incoming players lined up? Unknown as yet
