Spiritwalker Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 For 0.5m I'd sell Clemence and keep Oakley I'm told they're both on big wages so we will probably have to sell one and I think Oakley is the better player.
RedHux Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Have to say I'm not totally enamoured by this signing. We've apparently just got ourselves some walking tank of a frenchman that'll do as good if not better job in midfield. That said there's also talk of us wasting a fortune on Andy Cole. We seem to be throwing cash around like it's going out of fashion.

Jack Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Foxes' Clemence is offered Forrest armband (From NOTW)COLIN'S SKIPPER LURE COLIN CALDERWOOD has lined up a £500,000 bid for Stephen Clemence - and wants him as captain at Nottingham Forest. Calderwood is ready to dangle the carrot of the skipper’s armband to Clemence in a bid to lure him from Leicester. Clemence is also wanted by Midlands rivals Wolves but Calderwood - who knows him from his time at Spurs - is closing in on a deal. Forest are also set to complete the £100,000 signing of Motherwell striker Ross McCormack this week. Not the most reliable, McCormack went Cardiff last week so this about Clemence is probably a loada tosh
RedHux Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Isnt he off Forest to be paid 25'000k a week That's the figure I heard too! Can't see it though. Apparently the wages are average at Forest but we've an exceptional bonus sceme. 25k for bench warming's a bit on the daft side.
Father Ted Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Isnt he off Forest to be paid 25'000k a week Forest must be right thick bas*ards!
dandannieldanok Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Not the most reliable, McCormack went Cardiff last week so this about Clemence is probably a loada tosh Just what I was going to post.
MikeyT Posted 2 July 2008 Posted 2 July 2008 Has this bag of shit not gone yet? Thats not very friendly!
Father Ted Posted 2 July 2008 Posted 2 July 2008 Thats not very friendly! Well, either is Clemence being sh1te in every game, he can't pass, can't shoot, can't run, has ants in his pants and is only playing because his dad is Ray Clemence.
Thracian Posted 2 July 2008 Posted 2 July 2008 Can anyone name a game that Clemence dominated from midfield last season? Any time he split a defence open with a perfectly weighted pass or bent a free-kick into the postage stamp corner? It never happened. His career at City has gone the same way as his passing - sideways. Anything over £500K will be good business. Three cheers for a fan with his eyes open. In times past, were Clemence a military commander, he'd have been shot for overseeing a performance like ours. I remember his comment on arrival along the lines that he'd come to Leicester because he couldn't be guaranteed a starting place where he'd come from. The implications said it all really. The sooner he goes the happier I'll be.

Its a quote that can easily be taken two ways. Unfortunately, it turned out to be someone who wanted guarantees rather than someone who didn't want to be the next Winston Bogarde.

Thracian Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 More assists than Sheehan last season. You might expect that from a midfielder over a season against a full-back/midfielder over half a season. Not that I'd ignore Clemence's assists but he was our captain and he was supposed to be the hub of our team. In fact he was rarely commanding as a midfielder and was forever prone to injury to the point where he virtually disapppeared in the end.

You're forgetting his plethora of undocumented near things, disallowed (but perfectly good) goals etc which no one else can remember.
Cobbo Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 We should resort to the right back midfield. Chambers with some others. O'Neill couldn't cope with it.
lildave3 Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 1 of Clemence and Oakley has to be sold, I dont think they can play in the same team but they are both to good to be left out a League 1 team. Exaclty my thoughts.

Head Honcho Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I think we need to sell 2 more players and thats that!!Clemence and Howard! That would bring in about 1.7m and make a total of over 5 million in sales, surely Pearson can have 3 Million of that to re-build! Although i think we will see Mattock go to Everton by Monday for about 2 Million! Which Monday would that be then?
Halfsy Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Matt Oakley's signing highlights how clueless Holloway actually was. (As well as the Sheehan out, Clapham in deal) Why bring in Oakley when he is exactly the same as Clemence? And they're both ****ing useless. I really don't care which one of them goes, i wouldn't care if they both did.
lookwhaticando Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 SELL SELL SELL! Who we talking about again? The entire squad - less the five we've recently signed and some of the more useful assets such as Weso, King, Mattock and Gradel for example.
AyewJoking Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 Pearson plans players day out to Saddington car boot sale.
acooling08 Posted 20 July 2008 Author Posted 20 July 2008 well it looks like neither team are interested anymore...
