Joe. Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Just because he wore an Underarmour Nah, I think it was more to do with illegal advertising.
Head Honcho Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Nah, I think it was more to do with illegal advertising. Does this mean we can lobby the FA? Maybe try and get a point out of it like
Joe. Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 What did he wear? A bananaman outfit. Very fetching it was too.
Samilktray Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 A bananaman outfit. Very fetching it was too. I was kinda' hoping it was a thong.
Ashley Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 What did he wear? He wore one of these. Shown in picture above and him wearing it below.
Jack Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Advertising the ColdGear brand probably Loads of players where them though, don't they
Milky Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Loads of players where them though, don't they yeh, but you need to cover up the logo on the neck. In cricket they sometimes have to stop play so people put tape on the logo.
Jack Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 yeh, but you need to cover up the logo on the neck. In cricket they sometimes have to stop play so people put tape on the logo. Oh right, fair enough, I didn't know that
morris1234 Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 He wore one of these. Shown in picture above and him wearing it below. how do you know that picture of him was from the game against us or hull? Because that on its own doesnt mean that it was definately the under-armour and a lot of people wear that under-armour s*ite even in the lower leagues, im not 100% it was that or not, somebody said to me it was extra 'patches' of sponsors on the kit (like teams have sponsors above or below the name and number on the back) but if it was that then surely barnsley supply the kit and therefore wouldnt do that if they were not allowed (or would they?? )
lildave3 Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Right, on the BBC Sport website in the 'Who will test the black cats' article, Lewis Mcgugan is pictured wearing one of these undershirt things made by Canterbury. You can clearly see the logo. Will he be fined?

Jack Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Is it Rugby? If it is, then unlikely because Canterbury are big Rugby merchandise manufacturers. Isn't Lewis McGugan that kid from Forest ?

Jordan Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Just because he wore an Underarmour Yes, precisely that; because as , the FA surely wouldn't want any of its players wearing that stuff.
The Stig Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Politically correct madness. I wonder how many extra sales the company got from that 2cm logo on one player in the second division.
Ultra Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Politically correct madness. I wonder how many extra sales the company got from that 2cm logo on one player in the second division. It has nothing to do with political correctness. It's more to do with protecting the "exclusive" rights of kit sponsors and manufacturers.
lildave3 Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I don't really understand this tbh though. Isn't this the same as a logo being on a players boots?
Father Ted Posted 10 July 2008 Author Posted 10 July 2008 I don't really understand this tbh though. Isn't this the same as a logo being on a players boots? Yes, but players get sponsored by a certain brand to wear there boots. I remember a while back when Pires was sued for wearing Adidas boots instead of Nike - or something like that - can't quite remember the exact details...
Alexikokopops Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Politically correct madness. I wonder how many extra sales the company got from that 2cm logo on one player in the second division. IT'S POLITICAL CORRECTNESS GONE MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD! This has fuck all to do with political correctness. Jesus wept.

IT'S POLITICAL CORRECTNESS GONE MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!This has fuck all to do with political correctness. Jesus wept. I mean that evry tiny little thing has to be picked up on, maybe it wasn't exactly the right word but you'd have thought someone at the FA would have to common sense to say "give him a little warning as its done no harm". But in todays society there is no common sense, just endless pointless rules and regulations.
