AmericanScott Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Stick them both up front and see what happens. Fryatt can chase the ball and get it to DJ, who can hopefully finish in league 1.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 No contest. One of them actually looks like a footballer, can control the ball and seems to understand the rules. Also, they have at least had one purple patch during their time at Leicester. The other one is DJ.
maddog Posted 10 July 2008 Author Posted 10 July 2008 aye mate have u got fooking eyes or what, matty fryatt is not lazy he chaces everything you idiot, and he will get goals next season at least i hope he does to shut people up like you , its people like you that dont look what players do off the ball some of the runs matty make are just to clever for the other players to see You absolute idiot. I bet your one of those fans who chant du du du du matty fryatt when he is on the bench and never scores anyway. You obviously haven't been to any matches and seen him play unless your blind. He's been consistently awful and our worst player for seasons now.

Fryatt wasnt given proper chance upfront for enough games last year after having a good pre-season! I just hope he gets given a chance to shut most Leicester fans up this year! Are you Martin Allen????
Simi Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Fryatt wasnt given proper chance upfront for enough games last year after having a good pre-season! No. No. No. No. Not true at all. 21 Appearances. 9 Sub. Two goals.
Jimmy Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 No. No. No. No.Not true at all. 21 Appearances. 9 Sub. Two goals. I may be wrong but what I think he meant was Fryatt never got a sustained run in the side, not the number of games he played
Simi Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 I may be wrong but what I think he meant was Fryatt never got a sustained run in the side, not the number of games he played 21 games in a season is plenty of time to prove yourself, regardless of how many were in a row. Especially with someone who has apparently "natural talent", like Fryatt

Jimmy Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 21 games in a season is plenty of time to prove yourself, regardless of how many were in a row. Especially with someone who has apparently "natural talent", like Fryatt not when you consider it takes someone like Michael Owen a run of 10 games to be fully up to full match sharpness

Simi Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 not when you consider it takes someone like Michael Owen a run of 10 games to be fully up to full match sharpness Well that's Michael Owen, I hope you're not trying to compare the two? Some of the lengths people will go to defend Fryatt is shocking! 30 games in total in a season with a return of two goals. However you dress it up, it's shite.
Ozwin Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Personally I think we have the most uninspiring bunch of strikers in the entire footballing world, I'd be much happier having them all pack up and go and let some youngsters or some newbies come in and try their luck

However you dress it up, it's shite. no I'm not simply using him as an example, you cant just drop someone into the team and expect them to perform instantly especially if they haven't been used for months as happened with Fryatt a lot the last couple of season. If it takes someone the quality of Owen 10 games to be up and running properly how do you expect Fryatt to do it instantly
Simi Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 no I'm not simply using him as an example, you cant just drop someone into the team and expect them to perform instantly especially if they haven't been used for months as happened with Fryatt a lot the last couple of season. If it takes someone the quality of Owen 10 games to be up and running properly how do you expect Fryatt to do it instantly Owen is very injury prone, he himself has admitted that it's all bollocks from the media about it taking him so long to get fit anyway. He may have been dropped in every now and then, but 30 appearances in a season shows at least some constant run in the team doesn't it?
Simi Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 not if its 4 games then dropped for 12 Well, was it? I certainly remember him having a long spell around March time I think. And, if it was 4 games and then dropped. Why was he dropped? Because he was in a relegation threatened team and wasn't scoring, it's simple.
Mort Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Out of those two I’d far far rather plum for DJ, he’s far from perfect and last season was (as with the rest of the team) way short of what he’s proven himself capable of in the past but he’s head and shoulders above Fryatt. Both ‘should’ perform well at this level, DJ’s pace was an asset to him at this sort of level in the past and will most likely be so again – Fryatt has also been decent at this level the last time he was here. I don’t hold out great hopes for either, although I’d expect DJ to prove a far better player at this level than Fryatt.
Thracian Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 DJ would be much the harder to mark but I see no reason why Fryatt shouldn't enjoy a goalscoring resurgence at Divison One level.
consty Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 DJ would be much the harder to mark but I see no reason why Fryatt shouldn't enjoy a goalscoring resurgence at Divison One level. I can understand your sentiments, but we've been waiting for Fryatt to come good for too, too long. It just won't happen. He is a busted flush who was good once but for a long, long time just cannot score. Last season even against the worst teams - in other words league 1 standard players - he was as hapless as ever in front of goal. I think Fryatt is a league 2 standard player - and I don't think he'd set that league alight either, but would probably do enough to keep a place in a team or squad there
The People's Hero Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 DJ would be much the harder to mark but I see no reason why Fryatt shouldn't enjoy a goalscoring resurgence at Divison One level. Being hard to mark counts for fu ck all Thracian. Elvis Hammond is hard to mark. Unfortunately he's talentless when it comes to having the ball at his feet. It's like having a 13 inch penis but being entirely impotent - I'd know about one and you'd know about the other, so I'm sure between us, we can work this analogy.
Joe. Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Is Fryatt strong? No. Is Fryatt quick? No. Is Fryatt clever? No. Does Fryatt pass? No. Can Fryatt finish? No. Is Fryatt any better than Elvis Hammond? No. Does he deserve his anal worshiping from the Kop? No. So why is he deemed as a good striker by some?!

No. Is Fryatt any better than Elvis Hammond? No. Does he deserve his anal worshiping from the Kop? No. So why is he deemed as a good striker by some?! Just give him a decent run. Come on... play the game.
